Appearence: Jubei is an intelligent-looking genin about thirteen years of age with a very incisive stare and a perpetual faint smile, even in the face of hideous danger.
Personality: Collected and difficult to upset, Jubei considers the craft of the shinobi an academic pursuit as well as a practical one. He is extraordinarily mature and focused for his age. Every new style of taijutsu, every ninja tool or weapon, every new technique is something to be observed and studied in hopes of identifying a countermove. Though his restrained personality rarely shows it, he has tremendous enthusiasm for his life as a shinobi.
History: Born to a government official and a banker in the capital of the Fire Country, Sagara Sonosuke knew that he was going to be a ninja seemingly from the day he was born. Despite the ironclad tradition of shinobi only coming from a country's Hidden Villages- despite the fact that the location of a Hidden Villiage is a state secret!- he insisted that he would be a ninja. Despite his serious and constant insistance on the topic from the age of three onward, his parents thought it was merely a phase. He was completely undeterred, however; at the age of nine, by eavesdropping on his parents, stealing some of their documents, and cross-referencing a series of irregularities in a number of government bond issuages noted by his father's bank with a pattern of 'black budget' appropriations currently debated at his mother's office, he figured out the location of one of Konoha's supply outposts. He promptly ran away from home, arriving there within three days of hard hiking; from there, it was a simple matter to stow away on a cartload of kunai. His arrival in Konoha half-starved and nicked in a hundred places by the less-than-friendly cargo caused a minor sensation. At first, the Hokage simply refused to believe that a nine-year-old child could possibly locate Konoha on his own; then he could hardly credit his story of having left home to become a ninja. Eventually, however, he was touched at the young man's single-minded dedication to his purpose, and willingness to completely sacrifice everything he had known outside Konoha to fulfill his dream.
Sagara Sonosuke enrolled in the ninja academy at the age of nine, two years older than the typical student; he finished it at twelve, having shaved eighteen months off the typical graduation time and distinguished himself as a creative and dedicated student. He passed the genin examination with destinction, and eagerly awaits his first mission.
