If you need another hero, how about a Gnomish mage or tinker with a thing for ridiculous magical or steam-powered war machines (i.e. golems with seats, unreliable animated siege weapons, living furniture, and a pimped out crossbow with more firing modes than a star trek phasor...) Wantoon the gnome, one man army for hire :-p
(edit - I don't know a thing about dragonlance)

The only trouble with a tinker is that he won't have a whole lot of time to be tinkering. There's a lot of movement in the campaign, and though Dragonlance has incredibly comprehensive rules for creating Gnomish machines, it'd take time to create them. They make really fun NPCs. So far I like your Gnomish concept best, though. Did you want to play, at? I wasn't sure by your post.

Haha that's kind of what I was thinking if I went the Gnome Route. The Inventor with far more confidence in his ridiculous creations than he should. But I'm also between a straight Physical class or a Rogue because I have never played either. (Even though Jacob is kinda rogueish being a bard)

Out of curiosity, when do you plan on closing the call for players. I'm feeling quite eager to get into character creation.

The only trouble with a tinker is that he won't have a whole lot of time to be tinkering. I was thinking of pet projects that I tinker on the move. And this is D&D after all - cram the lab into a folding boat, a steal at only 3600gp self made. (and yes, he really would unfold it on land, in dungeons, and occasionally even on water...) So far I like your Gnomish concept best, though. Did you want to play, at? I wasn't sure by your post. I've been on the fence as there has been a lot of other interested players, but if there is space then i'm in.

Out of curiosity, when do you plan on closing the call for players. I'm feeling quite eager to get into character creation. When sufficient time has passed since the last player signing up. Probably 12-24 hours. If I miraculously wind up with the steady, never-ending stream of sign-ups, I'll cut it off in a couple of days or something. That's a bridge to be crossed later. I've been on the fence as there has been a lot of other interested players, but if there is space then i'm in. You're number 8 right now, which is a perfect fit, but I expect one or two more people signing up. Rojito is currently listed as my first drop since he's got so much going on already anyway, but even if I have 10-12 people sign up, there are so many NPCs-turned-PCs in this campaign that there will be room for everyone eventually. Seriously. This campaign is huge, and the party is prone to splitting at times (or can be quite easily in PbP). Some folks may have to wait a while, but there will be room.

Yeah, so you keep posting stuff in different areas so I missed these darn things. Anyways, count me in like I said before.
As for good vs. evil, I dont care which one I'm in. So whichever you need more people for I'll jump right in.

Cool. I've not played an item builder before. I've got the artificer rules floating around somewhere but i'm not familiar with them (IIRC artifier rules mean you are forever running around looking for gold to charge your wands to kill the monsters to get the gold to charge your wands and so on, which sounds like fun).

Well, now that I actually had some time to read through your original post, heh, I think I'd probably be better suited for the Bad campaign. Considering I've not only read through most of the books, and have played (and GM'd) numerous Dragonlance adventures, it's safe to say I know the setting fairly well.
So yeah, I guess it'll work out better if I go evil.

Make some kind of rule where there can only be one short character per side. Short characters are the worst.

Make some kind of rule where there can only be one short character per side. Short characters are the worst. Unless someone's playing a goblin or an evil gnome in the villainous game, I don't think that'll be a problem for them. For the Heroic, I'll probably cap it at 2 (one gnome and one kender tops). It's the Flint-Tas philosophy--one annoying character is forced to inflict its annoyance on everybody. Two annoying characters can inflict their annoyance on one another, and thus confine unnecessary humor to a controllable level. 'Course, I would prefer a gnome and a kender that can just operate functionally with the rest of the group, but this may prove impossible. Amusingly, there is an entire sidebar in the campaign books aimed at addressing the 'annoying kender' problem, because that's how bad it is. Most of the advice amounts to 'tell your player to stop being so annoying, or else have a dragon eat the kender'. The nice part about an 8-person party is that there's plenty of cannon fodder.

Yeah, you can add my name to that list. Too many times have I run a game with a damn kender in it.
The only cool kender was Tas, and even he could get annoying.

By the way, I'm thinking paladin is not right for my character idea, perhaps something like a knight might be best, and since I heard there might be some interesting knightly orders in Dragonlance, I'd like to learn a bit about them, if possible. But I won't clutter up this Call for Players thread with it any further, just wanted to give a heads-up that information about those would be welcome. Did you ever get information regarding the Knighthood? I could send you some basic information regarding the Knights of Solamnia if you'd like.

You can go ahead and hook him up, Jolith.
I'm going to go ahead and close sign-up at this point. It's been 24 hours since the last player joined.
Given the lack of interest in Wing of Darkness, I'm going to save myself some work and cancel the Villainous Campaign. This brings our count of players for the Heroic Campaign to 9, which means somebody's got to be dropped (at least temporarily). Based strictly on character count, that would be Rojito. Sorry man--you're welcome to stick around and join after the first leg or two of the campaign, when a few new characters pop into things. Let me know if you're interested.
