Hey guys, Since TTC mentioned his spotty posts, I figured this was a good time to mention my own absence.
I'm going to Las Vegas tomorrow (3/26) and will not be back till Sunday. I should be able to resume my posting on Monday, 3/31. I'm going out for the annual MINI Vacation in Vegas, where we're meeting up with more than 450 MINI Coopers for drives to Death Valley, old Route 66 and others.
But what's this in the title about "more", you might ask? As it turns out BluSpecs and his wife are leaving with us; and KMan and his fiancee are leaving tomorrow night for the same destination. I'll not commit anything about their posting habits over these days, but I'm guessing they'll not be posting much.
Udjat keep the tires rolling for Thurman, freely offering any helpful advice his learning might provide. Try not to kill me or make me crazy before I get back please.
See you guys when I get back.

I guess I can keep Thurman alive. Enjoy your trip - same goes to all associated persons also going on the trip. Gonna be quiet around here for a few days.

Yeah, what Japic said. I'll be out and without access...or desire really to check in. It is Las Vegas after all, my first time!
But I doubt I'll even make it there...

Ooh, so do I get to be in charge? Well sure, another 500 some odd posts and you'll be in charge all the time...which wouldn't really be any different than it is now.

It is Las Vegas after all, my first time! First time in Vegas? Is it time for everyone to share their favorite Vegas moment? One bit of advice: contrary to the official tourism motto, what happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas (at least not since the advent of cellphone cameras). This is evidenced by a candid photo of me passed out drunk and protectively cradling a hotel room trashcan like it was a favorite stuffed animal. My reasoning was sound, if I was going to puke a third time, I wanted an easily accessible container near by. Have fun and don't forget to ask for a late checkout. If all goes well, you'll need it.

So, is this a you and the fiance going and get married in Vegas, or are you planning on the full wedding in Denver KMAN?

My wedding...
We both got so sick of the planning and family politics, we skipped out with a few of our closest friends (6 people besides ourselves and the pastor) a month ahead of schedule and did it ourselves. It was the best wedding either of us could have wanted.
We still let the big shindig occur with all the mess and people and business. It was no fun at all. The best we could say for it was, "Well, at least it wasn't our REAL wedding."
EDIT: Oh, yeah. And Vegas. Have fun there Japic.

As it stands, I've got a $13,000 wedding to pay for... No Vegas wedding. I told Aegea this, aghast at the price of a 'full' wedding, and she responded with 'Wow, that's pretty good. A relative of mine spent $30,000 on hers.' I think I passed out.

Yeah, we saved some $ by designing the invitations ourselves, using local people and limiting it to about 100 people (invites) of which, I'm certain less than 70 will show. Kind of helps cut down on costs. Either way, it's still an ass-raping. To get back on topic for the post, sorry for being such a slack-ass this week. Hopefully posting will resume after Monday. Have a wonderful weekend, I'll see about pics when I get back!

Weddings are a lot of dinero.
If I get married, it won't be a big thing at all.
I'd only be doing it to get in on a sweet health plan or something.
Have fun in Vegas. Don't worry about the posting.
Besides, it takes me about five billion hours just to update the Idiot's Guide game these days, so I have plenty to do. I won't miss my adventures too much.

Is everyone getting married around here? I just proposed last week. Limiting the number of guests is definitely the key to keeping costs down. We're limitting the wedding to parents, siblings and siblings' spouse+kids. However, both sets of parents didn't like the idea of Las Vegas so we're planning to wed in Hawaii. More expensive than Vegas but still a heck of a lot cheaper than a 300 guest church-and-reception-at-hotel wedding.

We're back! Vegas was just fine, though I've been many times before, so hopefully KMan can give a first timer's review for us. I swear there are more hotels and properties under construction than actually open these days; sheesh. Se la ve, thats the way things work in that town. Oh, we ahve some pictures too, though not a ton. Most of the standing still pictures are mine, any driving and nighttime pictures were taken by Christine. The night shots are almost all blurred, but only because our point and shoot camera isn't really designed for night shooting. KMan and Specs should have better results there. Oh, a link to my photobucket site might be good too. For the MINI portion of the vacation, there were over 500 cars in attendance, though I didn't get a final count. From my door to my door we drove about 2,015 miles in five days, so we saw lots of places. Aside from teh to/from Denver, we drove to Death Valley (some 250 feet below sea level), saw the north shore of Lake Meade, drove to Mount Charleston (a nearby ski resort) and cruised the strip with several hundred mini coopers. We ate at several good restaurants too, so if anyone goes to Vegas we can recommend an awesome Italian place, an uber tasty Mexican place (good margaritas too) and a great place for a burger and a shake. Overall not a bad trip. My posting has already resumed, we'll see how long it takes KMan and Specs to get back on track.

Wow, you came within about 200 miles of me. If you had gone all the way to the coast, you probably would have ran me over.
