How do you insert pics & links?

1) How do you insert a picture in a post?
2) How do you (Wicks, TZS) make the links to your characters in your sig?

I copied Shakes on that one.

For the inserting pics, the way i do it is to copy the URL for thepicture (say from photobucket) and paste it into the reply box. Then you add the HTML tags.

for example:
[img]http://www.chunker's_pictures.com/chunker.jpg[/img]

The links in the sig is done by just going to the character sheet and copying the URL then you type this in your sig:

[url="your character sheet's URL"]Character's name[/url]

That should do it.

Yup, Wicksy has this one nailed. Now if you wanted to turn the picture you inserted into a link that's another set of code entirely. But I'm not sure that you're interested in doing that.

To go a little further;

Your sig can only hold 400 characters which, when plugged full of a URL, can get eaten up quite easily. Here are your characters;

Remove the *'s and you're good to go. That should leave you 34 characters left for your sig Chunker, maybe more.

As for Pictures, when you click Reply (not quick reply) you should a small picture button, looks like this;



Click on that and it will automatically put the

[*img] [/img]


tags into your post. Put the URL of the image in there and you're good to go.

I would add that photobucket.com is a good place to host images for free.

I use imageshack.net or whatever it is. You don't have to make an account or remember any passwords. You just have to never expect to see the picture again online if for some reason you forget the url or can't locate it. But I keep most of my pictures saved on my computer or on discs anyway since they're a huge part of my life.

Also, my characters appear on my sig in a straight line rather than one on top of the other. That's cause I don't separate them by pressing the enter key. I just put a comma and a space after the tags before putting in the next one. So I guess it depends on how you want them to line up
