I know that everyone wants their own avatars and everything, so go here. This place has like 11,000 or some odd number of avatars. Ranging from anime, undead, creatures, aliens, video games...hell they even have a Shaolin Soccer collection of avatars...who doesn't need that? Anyway, consider that an FYI. k

Thanks for the links fellas, but I don't think I can find a more appropriate picture than one of me. That's just the way it goes.

It seems that the Avatars Inc site is down for the count. Dam artists wanting to get compensated.

Yeah, the site is down for a while, but I can still link to already used Avatars, so I'll have to find another site. Recommendations will get extra XP....not really, but it would be helpful. On another note, your new logon Arabis is cool, but do you actually know the story behind it? Think about the defintition of Merovingian: Main Entry: Mer·o·vin·gian Pronunciation: "mer-&-'vin-j(E-)&n Function: adjective Etymology: French mérovingien, from Medieval Latin Merovingi Merovingians, from Merovaeus Merowig died 458 Frankish founder of the dynasty Date: circa 1694 : of or relating to the first Frankish dynasty reigning from about A.D. 500 to 751 - Merovingian noun "Of or relating to the first dynasty..." If you remember correctly, the Merovingian was around since the first incarnation of "The One", and has survived since then as well. His name has meaning...and so does my life now that the Matrix is here. Damn I love those Wachowksi's...nothing is ever unintentional...greatest story ever told in my opinion. ;D

Yes I looked it up before I decided to use it I didn't want it to mean butt pirate in French. "It’s like wiping you’re a** in silk.”

HEY ! !
I resemble that remark. ;D
Actually right now I'm more pumped about the Matrix than I am about Return of the King. It's a classic, but I already know how that ends. Revolutions will complete the saga and let me rest a little easier. Give a little closure, you know?
So? What is everyone's Matrix theory. How was Neo able to stop the squiddies 'out' of the matrix? I know my answer already.. and if I'm right: I'm certain that my brain will burn up and melt out of my ears. It's just too wiggy.

You should be...it's a matter of taste. As for the theory...my guess is that they....umm....ran out of gas....yeah that's it...ran out of gas. Honestly I have no idea. I respect the Wachowski's and know that anything they put out will blow my socks off...I'm counting the days.

The reason he could stop them is that he was destined to stop them, that is his purpose and without purpose we are nothing, the true question we should be asking is how we understand the choice and the meaning of that choice. But being that we are limited by our human understanding we undoubtedly will miss the answered because we do not see the purpose of that answer.
In other words I have no idea but I am jazzed as all get out to see the end.
As for Tolkin we know the ending, all we were waiting for were the special effects, and the Matrix leaves those in the dust. I still will see and enjoy both though. Anticipation it all about the anticipation.

My theory? Neo's affinity for altering the code of the Matrix was extended and used to alter the code of the Machines- essentially wiping their hard drives- through a wireless connection the Machines were using to communicate. His neural jack wasn't supposed to be used wirelessly, though-that's why the arcs of electricity appeared and Neo passes out.

My theory?
Reality itself is a matrix. The only thing is, there's nothing "bigger" than it. You know the code, you edit a few "lines" of the way the world works, and there you go!
However, b\c all actions have an equal and opposite reaction, Neo experiences a snapback (paradox, anyone?) and passes out for a while. The reason this didn't occur in the matrix is that no programmer would see the need to penalize those who use the system---that's him after all!
If you've ever played Mage and taken a look at the Reality Hackers faction, you'll know what I mean.

I think he'll wake up and it will all be a dream like the Bob Newhart show!

Probably not like Newhart. Good guess though.
My thnking is that there is a Matrix within a Matrix. And all the people in 'Xion' are the ones with stronger wills, the ones that reject the programming. So the Machines made another Matrix that lets them believe that they are free.
You remember how in the first one, Agent Smith said that entire crops were lost? The matrix just compensated and gave those minds something else, something they would believe.
Then again.. I hope I'm not right. It hurts too much to think about. Mind screw all around.
I can just imagine the last 30 seconds of the movie: Neo wins and is standing there rejoycing with everyone, and then it does the little matrix code thing.. and neo is smiling in his little pod of jelly at the thought of 'beating the machines'. - fin -

Trouble is, that's the most obvious and predictable ending EVA. I give the Wachowskis more credit than that.

I have to agree with Toptomcat on that one maynard...I think...no actually I plan on having the end be so deep and thought provoking that my brain will melt from my ear.
That way I don't think any more...plus I get to eat baby food all the time. ;D

Beware of strained beets. And liquified meat is pretty gnarly too.
And besides, who says that it can't end that way? Not all endings are peaches and cream. I hope for once that humanity loses. That would be the ultimate irony of the whole series. Humanity fighting for control that they cannot ever truly gain. They are slaves to the machines. The end.
