As I have stated in another thread, I am going to be closing down Hands of Fate and running a new type of campaign. This will be for beginning players, starting around level 2 or 3. I have room for anywhere from 4 to 8 players.
That being said, I know more of what to do, and what NOT to do as a DM. I now have a few adventures, hopefully short ones, and I would like to start them here. They are old adventures, and possibly many of you here may have already played part in them.
Here they are.
1 - A Lion in the Ropes:
Adventure for 4 to 8 players, Starting Level 2 to 4
Single adventure not related to any of the others. Can be run independently or to lead up to another adventure.
2 - Dzeebagd:
Adventure for 4 to 8 players, Starting Level 2 to 4
Prequel for the Dogs of War adventure.
3 - Felsentheim the Dogs of War:
Adventure for 4 to 8 players, Level 3 to 5
Run after the Dzeebagd adventure, as this is the second part. (Officially, third part, but I din't get the first adventure)
4 - The Mortality of Green:
Adventure for 4 to 8 players, Level 3 to 5
Independent adventure.
Here's the take on the adventures.
Characters will start at level 2 for first adventure. They will be Point Buy characters, 32 Points. Standard races only, and standard classes to begin with.
After the first adventure is finished, those that want to continue with another adventure can carry over those characters. Those that do not, can sit out and other character sent in to replace them. This will continue until all 4 adventures have been completed.
For those that are hesitant on my dm'ing, I can only say that I have the adventure modules, and you won't have to wiat on me to find the stats, history, and what not. I don't have to worry about the notes, as they are all here.
When enough have put in their interest, we will start the new game. First on the list, A Lion in the Ropes:
From the Adventure Module by Troll Lord Games, TLG 1401
PRELUDE: You are a new group of adventurers, for some reason or another, you are on your way to the city of Freiburg. This is a mystery module, designed for 4 to 8 characters, levels 2-4. Depending on number of characters, I may start you off on level 3. The adventure occurs in the lands of Lord Galveston. There, he keeps watch over three villages, bordering himself between the Twilight Wood to the norht and the city of Freiburg.
After your first outing, you have come to realize that the adventure life is the life for you. Although going it alone would be daring, you have come to realize that aid is needed. Therfore, you are now part of a rag tag group, barely starting out on your own heroic adventures. You are now in the region south of Arles, and are taking in the sights of the travelling circus.
Johannes Fever and his travelling circus offers you time to relax and enjoy the sights. Gypsies and troubadours entertain you with high flying acrobats, flame tossing swords, wild animals, and outlandish freaks. You meet the Bearded Elf Gelion. Then there was Pugh the orc skinned dwarf, who was simply a dwarf wearing skins of orcs for clothing. Then there was Hawk, the mad jailer. His tales never cease, as he can simply talk for hours without halting.
There are milk tonics to cure any disease, magical disks that return to the thrower, and other various items of mischance and happenstance. The tale that stands out most in your memory is Hawks dreaded tale of the Charon Fiend of Twilight Wood. The beasts accounts of mauling straggling wanderers brings tingles to your senses, envisioning you facing off against it. The serpents as its mane brings even more heightened anticipation to the possible adventure. With the decision to find out if this is simply a tale or something that needs to be remedied, you gather the information that will lead you to Lord Galvestons villages, where you can find safe haven, warm food, and a warm reception on your way to Freiburg.
Please post if interested, and then what type of character you would like to play.
