Go Find Your Dead

Sequel to Bring out Your Dead Campaign takes place hundreds of years later, and most of the heroes have fallen from age. The land has changed, and a new war is erupting. The lands of Tertia are in turmoil, fighting against the Yexuhl invasion and calls for some heroes.. The city of New Ravenshead is calling for some heroes as well, for their own purspose. Two groups, each on their own agendas.

For those of you who have yet to be exposed to it, Masks is a very large, very dangerous campaign. I mean, moreso than usual in Call of Cthulhu. It crosses several continents, has the potential to spread over a year of game time, and has very vivid, intricate plot. But like any Call of Cthulhu game, its heart is in the mystery of it all. You are investigators, as always, and there is something truly huge to investigate.

New game devised of each character having an employer, and an objective. These objectives could differ from the other players, and it is this twist that gives the short campaign an aura of mystery. No, this is pretty out of date. It's probably better to look at the actual threads for each game--titles should tell you which are open to new players. To sum it up for you, though, there are 4 Shorts going on and about 4 active campaigns.

The Shorts
Moonhaven Inn - This is our only 4th edition game going on, run by Harknail and has been going strong for a while, to the best of my knowledge. I'm afraid I can't offer much more. I dropped out early on.

Age of Heroes - This is our only Mutants and Masterminds game going on, run by Badasterysk, and to my knowledge it is always open for new players, though character creation and mechanics will probably be new to you if you're only working from a D&D standpoint. Still, we're not opposed to helping newcomers get roped into it. As this is M&M, it's a superhero game, with all the trappings that go with that. We've got a guy in a battlesuit, a wizardess, and a data manipulator on the team right now.

The Apprenticeship - This is an experimental True20 game, using the Ars Magica setting. I'd tell you a bunch more, as I'm running it, but it's closed at 7 players right now. Medieval fantasy in Old Europe.

The Transmuter's Last Touch - This is Shakes's short, and her games are always fun, a bit lighter/tongue-in-cheek, and full of interesting interactions. Not sure if she's accepting people or not. Looks like a pretty standard dungeon crawl so far, but one never knows with Shakes.


Campaigns
Rinascimento - This is a historical fiction game with touches of renaissance-era super science and a little bit of supernatural demonology that has yet to be proven or not. I'm really not sure if there's any supernatural in this game or not, and I'm in it! It's set in 1527 Italy, for the most part, just after the Sack of Rome, but I have a feeling the setting is in no ways set in stone. Characters at include a mercenary officer, one of his men, a smuggler/sea captain, and a Germanic noble. VemuKhaham runs this one, but I think he's fairly open to newcomers.

Idiot's Guide to Being Evil - Our only out-and-out campaign with evil characters. It's good old d20, with some house rules, set in the city of Port Rislan. It takes a proactive player to make this one work, as there is free reign to do whatever one can imagine. Shakes also runs this one. Current characters run the gamut from a murderous halfling rogue, a guardsman-and-necromancer, a trigger-happy sorcerer, a corrupt half-orc guardsman, and Karnoch, who really defies all attempts at description. Don't know if she's accepting new players, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

Shards of the Dragon - This is my Dark Sun campaign. It's only got 4 players going right now, but as I feel the campaign is approaching its last lap, I'm not accepting new players. It's got like two years of play in it, though, so if you're looking for some reading, have at it. I may one day run a sequel to it.

Go Find Your Dead - Speaking of sequels, this is a sequel to an old D&D campaign run by our former admin, Kman, for whom the boards is named. He started this one, but I've since taken over the reigns to it. I am open to accepting new players to this campaign, and knowledge of the first campaign is not at all necessary to participate. PM me if you want more info.

I didn't include Random Acts, as that appears to be closing down, but Fangor is welcome to correct me on that front.

Good overview, makes me realize we're actually not doing that bad, if I may compliment ourselves. We certainly still have good variety to offer. Hope there's something to your tastes, Tork, and yes, I am always open to newcomers in Rinascimento if they offer a good contribution to the game.

Well i've never really played anything outside the basic dnd and it's off spring(if you can call it basic) but i'd love to play but i have no books what so ever and don't really have funds to buy any. if this isn't a problem then i think i'd like to try roll playing in yet another style of game. but i'm not sure how to go about making a character.

Rinascimento is a homebrew, so no books even exist for it. Basic D&D is the starting point, anyhow. I'm sure Vemu will be glad to give you all the details when he's back from vacation--you should send him a PM to make sure he knows you're interested.
