Hmmm. Little experiance with 3rd ed but willing to learn, years experiance in other systems. Impressed by writing, would like to get on to the next train heading out of town. Any possible openings, shoot me a line. Cheers.

That sort of thing is covered in the Campaign Status board, I think.

ok umm yeah well i went back and was lookin through the character sheets of some of the old threads and i was wondering if there might be a DM out there to give a go at a couple of older things i liked. The first one was BOYD, Bring Out Your Dead, it was huge the first part (thats all i've read so far) had like 12 people in it, very hard to contain and control, but go read it it was flippin AWSOME. and the second was a Super game, i think it was based on Marvel heroes or something, i didn't look at much more than a few character sheets, but i thought it looked very interesting and i have wanted to play one of these types of games so... anyway i was hopeing there might be a DM up to makeing a new either multiplayer game, or a Supers game, or a huge Multiplayer Supers game, lol it'd be like the legion of doom vs the superfriends lol or maybe more like teen titans lol anyway i dont know i am not a gm. But i would be interested in playing either or both of these campaigns, and i feel i am not the only one. Edit: ikk that last supers campaign didn't do too well... but thats ok lets get another one goin, itll be better

Greetings. The last time I participated in a FRP game was nearly 5 years ago, that took place in Kalak's city. Having played only Dragonlance and FR settings before, I remember to be most fascinated with the concept of the Way and the unique, brutal, unforgiving lands of Athas. It was a most satisfying experience, and I still remember Na'kr, the young defiler I was personifying, to all details. Bad thing was not all all players -who summed up to 8- could provide continuity, and in less than a year it fizzled. That was the last time I laid hands on die. Much later (later like 5 years, omg), I tumbled over this site while searching about "Yaramuke" on Google (lol). What pops in your face when you do that is a link to Udjat's game called "Shards of the Dragon". I did not know that games could be played thru the intarwebz like this =). But i was intrigued, and read thru the whole campaign pretty quick, thru Nibenay to the Oasis on the way to Draj.
I just loved the feeling. A lust for imagination rekindled in my frontal cortex. I have been fantasizing of Athas again, and loving the world thru how Udjat described it. The characters Skeksis and Furni are worth lavishing, tho I was pretty drawn into the events thru Furni's perspective. Erebus made me shiver, his weird-ruthless dediction so frightening, him being charmed to the sound of seething flesh. I also liked Jo'lith and Ghazi to a lesser degree.
Long story short, I would love to somehow take place in "Shards of the Dragon". In the Campaign Status Board, it seems that "Shards of the Dragon" is not recruiting, but I still wanted to try my chances. I would not have difficulty personifying my character. The fact that I know so few about D&D 3.5 and forgot most game mechanics could present a problem, on the other hand.
I hope you notice this post here, Udjat, and somehow answer my request.

First off, Greetings and welcome aboard! Secondly, your lack of knowledge about the system isn't an issue, when i started all i knew was D20 Modern, but they have schooled me through it . Finally, i am hurt that you did not even once mention Mynok in your post, i am wounded to the quick.... just kiddin lol, welcome aboard lad, and if you cant get in this game there are sure to be others open here soon.

Wow.
First of all, I am flattered. Sometimes I think I'm barely holding the attention of the players, let alone drawing in other people. Thank you. I've just experienced an incredible ego boost (which may not be entirely healthy).
Secondly, nice name. I noticed it when you registered a day or two ago, because I am a fiend for all things Egyptian. The name/avatar might've given that away. It's neat to see someone also interested in Dark Sun. I've often thought about doing something in Tyr's immediate vicinity, but what can I say? I dig Nibenay, and the abandoned city-states like Yaramuke beckon to me.
Normally I wouldn't be recruiting, but because 1. You're a new player, and 2. You like the game/setting so much, I have absolutely no qualms making room for you in Shards. We'll have to exchange PMs to figure out the details, of course, but that shouldn't be a big deal. Let me know what sort of character you have in mind, and I'll see what I can work into the plot.
Thanks again, for the complimentary words and the interest. And welcome to KMan's!

And mine. I've never played CoC before, but you prepared Masks so well that it all makes perfect sense. Now the only thing slowing my posting down is dread. The homeless dudes in the square have me convinced we aren't going to live to see next week! Also, I always see that you're just about the first one to post in the morning, every morning. That definitely counts for a lot.

Welcome to the boards, Menat, and I'm happy to hear you've gotten a place in your favorite game. Also because I'm always interested in new characters, in whatever game, to interact with. I'm sure that with your enthusiasm you'll do great, and I'm looking forward to your introduction in the game. Don't expect Furni to be easy on you, though. He gave Skeksis a hard time when he wished to join the party, so you are warned.

Thanks kindly to all, for your friendly welcoming.
Rojito, Mynok's inner conflict is too straightforward for me to like, its not your roleplaying that makes me frown upon Mynok =)
Vemu, yet I havent thought of a character, so I'm not sure if Furni will belittle me, tho I'm sure he will always have arrogant and well-embroidered words to say =)
Udjat, I'll also name my character somehow related to the cobra goddess of Buto. I'm happy to have been accepted, thanks again.
Then, I'll first think of a class and race for my character, also a detailed background, then will pm you about it. Then I will need a lot of help on retouches about statistics, which feats, skills I should get and such.
See you soon, with my new face =)
yayayayay!

Yeah, you are doing a great job with Masks, Ive never played the campaign much less know anything about it aside from it is deadly and very long. You are doing such a great job I'm having a hard time convincing myself to allow my character to continue breaking the law or even (Soon) interrogate/forcefully extract information from someone....just because they might have something to do with the group of people who attacked and murdered not only an employer but a former Girlfriend. I just know I'm going to either end up on the end of a knife or the other side of the bars. But those are the only two ways Tommy Cannon would have it.

Maybe we should redo this thread a little, and write a more up to date guide to the campaign status board here, while we're working on updating the boards and in response to Tork's question as to where to look for up-to-date info. After all, the title of this thread kind of promises more than it lives up to in terms of content.7.0
