I've seen it as well. And I wasn't even tempted to look at this 'spoiler' beforehand. You are one sneaky fellow there bluspecs.
The movie was great, but my roommate has some issues with it. He's pretty techie, so didn't like a number of different points regarding the 'technology' of the time. I still liked it though, so poo on him.
Later.

I liked it too, and they didn't even fall into any of the possible endings everyone was thinking about.
They left it wide open for sequel too....

Hey Everyone,
Amazingly enough I found a PC buried in a cornfield out here that fired up when I got near it...alien technologies working towards some unfathomable goal? Or an aunt that actually has a PC and telephone...you decide.
Anyway, had to add my two cents to this thread. Saw The Matrix the other night and let's just say the movie was....altering. The kind of altering that makes you look at the world in a new light. I'll discuss more when I'm back home on my ergonic keyboard and not this cramped POS, but it will be my #1 for a very long time until the next "most imaginative and orginal story" comes along...
See you all soon, K-Man

If you ask me, I think they're out there burning more of that crazy weed that grows all over the place. From what I hear, Marijuana grows freely in many an irrigation ditch out there, and they have days where farmers burn up all the weeds. It's been said that on occasion weed can be smelled (rether heavily) througout the town.
Now that's what I call altering your stae of mind. No wonder they're all so laid back.

Why do you think they used Kansas for the Wizard of Oz, coincidence I think not. As for the movie, I agree it is a movie that if you try to see the true depth of the rabbit hole, like it did for Alice, it changes you. It is a rare story indeed that does that to people.

Another "Revelation" With the names involved in The Matrix....god I love the Wachowskis...Anyways remember the ship that essentially saved Zion by staving off the Sentinel wave? The Logos, check out the definition of Logos.
Main Entry: Lo·gos Pronunciation: 'lO-"gäs, -"gOs Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural Lo·goi /-"goi/ Etymology: Greek, speech, word, reason -- more at LEGEND Date: 1587 1 : the divine wisdom manifest in the creation, government, and redemption of the world and often identified with the second person of the Trinity 2 : reason that in ancient Greek philosophy is the controlling principle in the universe
"Redemption of the world and often identified with the second person of the Trinity." -
Just something to get those old neurons firing in the brain.
I do have one question for everyone. In the scenes where Neo is trapped between the Matrix and death, the sign on the back wall reads "Mobil Ave". If anyone knows what that is symbolic for...you get bonus XP for sure.
;D

By simply looking at the root of the word we get this. Mobile "characterized by the mixing of social groups b : having the opportunity for or undergoing a shift in status within the hierarchical social levels of a society <socially mobile workers>"Don’t know how many of you have ever been to NY City but this is exactly what the subways are. In context of the city it can describe the fate of the computer programs preparing to go to the Matrix where the will interact with humans, and in as much as they are “illegal aliens” in the matrix the reference of migrant workers could be especially fitting.
My two cents
