I figured everyone might enjoy this little tale I heard this morning. It's by a favorite author of mine...Neil Gaiman. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Writer’s Prayer – Neil Gaiman Oh lord, let me not be one of those who writes too much, Who spreads himself to thinly with his words, Diluting all the things he has to say like butter spread too thinly over toast, Or watered milk in some worn out hotel, Let me write the things I have to say, And then be silent until I need to speak, Oh lord, let me not be one of those who writes too little, A decade man between each tale…or more, Where every word accrues significance and dread replaces joy upon the page, Perfection is like chasing the horizon, You kept perfection and gave the rest to us, So let me earn the wisdom to move on, But over and above those two mad spectres of parsimony and prolificacy, Lord let me be brave, and let me, while I craft my tales, be wise, Let me say true things in a voice that’s true, And, with the truth in mind…let me write lies.

American Gods, Nevewhere, Smoke & Mirrors, Stardust, all the Sandmans....
The man is my personal living hero, close second to the man, HP, in my eyes.
My favorites are Neverwhere, and Murder Mysteries from Smoke & Mirrors.
Glad to hear others like him. I just picked up a CD of his called, "Telling Tales" I'm going to listen to it tonight if I can.

The Sandmans are some of the best comics I have ever read the only thing close on a psychological level are The Max series, and I think both are some of the most creative story lines I have ever come across.
Great quote by the way

I jst read Neverwhere. I was good, very British. Not quite as good as American Gods, but what could be? Of course, Neverwhere gave us the immortal line, "can't make an omlet without killing a few people."
