I'm thinking of hosting a D&D 3.5 campaign and I wanna see how many are interested.
The campaign would be a twist away from the more conventional dungeon crawl and would focus more on character bachgrounds and goals. I wanna see some machavellian schemeing damn it.

Sounds like my kind of game. Got any more info besides that? I don't want to commit to yet another game unless I'm sure I can justify the expense of time (in other words, I don't want to waste everyone else's time as dead weight). I'm wearing myself thin as it is with Fallen/Tabloids/Hammer (yeah, I suck).

I'd be interested if there ends up being a spot open. i've got a well thought out Bard I'd like to play....
I just don't want to take away from any new-to-the-site people that may want to play.
What sort of levels/races/story do you want to start with?

I'll play if there happens to be room, but I might want to play something a little un-standard, class and/or race wise. But, I bow to the wishes of the DM.

Yikes epic stuff? I'm not sure I'm up for that.... I'll have to think about it....
i'm pretty well known with my tabletop group for playing/Dm below 10 level.
Might be a fun change though...

Will, could you give us some more details on the setting, etc.

Agreed, more details.
Also, you want a 20th level character? How detailed of a background do you require? Will you allow servants, lackeys and entire networks of underlings? 20th is pretty extreme and although I love epic things, I would give people tons of time to develop their PCs.
What about special circumstances. I.E. - What about making a king complete with kingdom? 20th is more than enough time to gather enough name and legend to make your own fiefdom at least. Or to be the head of a temple with acolytes and servants.
What about being a lich or other powerfully transitioned spell caster? Avatar? Chosen one?
So many questions when you get so epic...

Alright guys, sorry about being so vague and sketchy so far. I've been having a rather manic week and my thoughts were going like a zillion miles a second.. not very conductive to expressing them to others so now I will clarify and try to answer as many questions as I can.
The Setting:
The year is 1392 in Faerun and 18 years ago a great a malevolent spirit came to the world and formented a great rebellion against all the lived in the world of Toril calling to it all evil and those of ill intent. Soon monsters and men of all walks flocked to the aid of this secretive spirit and formed the Cult of Ra, over the course of a decade the Cult of Ra gained many powerful worshipers through bribery, murder, threachery and lies and its evil pervaded the civilizations of beast and men and by the year 1390 the Cult was felt behind the scenes as a great puppet master its aim to destroy all of the world. But near the end of that year their cult was discovered by the band of heros (you guys) and those still free of the Cult's sway rallied to wage war for their lives. The game starts off with our heros leading as generals a combine force of all that are still free and sets them at the scene of a great battle, the sacking of the Cult's holy city a sort of battle of the 5 army's style clash in which the heros find a terrible secret at the heart of this cult that will change their lives and open their eyes to greater things.
The characters I need are 6 level 20 characters, preferably of diverse alignments. You can use any race or classes in the PHB, DMG, and Forgotten Realms campaign setting. Starting wealth is via the DMG for a 20th level character used to buy items, any castles, lands, titles or followers you have due to your background will have either been destroyed in the war or are following you into this battle. If you choose to have followers.. which I highly encourage you must equip them with your own starting wealth and you must make a full character sheet and background no less than 200 words for your cohort. Special cohorts must be approved by me. All special templates IE lichs ect must be approved by me and you must spend any costs associated with them from your starting wealth. The background for your characters should be 200 words as well and I am more interested in your characters goals/aims rather than history. I want to know why not how.
Magic Items cannot exceed a +5 bonus, that includes abilities that would count towards any +.

I apologize if this inconviences anyone but after rethinking my game idea I've come to the conclusion that such an epic undertaking while great in theory would be a tremendous load for me and odds are good I would loose interest and get lazy and essentially waste everyones time so I am going to call it off. However I am still going to host a Forgotten Realms Campaign starting monday most likely but it will not be nearly as epic, starting with lowly level 1 characters. There are still six spots open and the rules are still the same, the only sources I will be useing are the PHB, DMG, and the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, so any of you folks that love suppliments are just shit out of luck.
Please send me your character concepts/sheets via PM the details are simply put, your every day D&D adventure set in the forgotten realms.
