Since my attempt to create a 4th Edition Arena style game fell short, I thought to make another attempt at a short. Once again I want to try and bring a different game to the table instead of 3rd edition D&D. Werewolf the ForsakenThis game would put the players in control of a pack of young werewolves striving to prove themselves to the Uratha nation. The Uratha will have to form a pack, find a spirit to guide them, and fight against the corrupting nature of the Wyrm. This is set in modern day, but in the World of Darkness setting. The WoD is a shadow of what the world is like today. Corruption spreads through every level of society letting criminal organizations and evil corporations run unchecked. This would be a combination of the Werewolf the Forsaken and the old history of Werewolf the Apocolypse. The social aspect from the old setting was much better defined and set up then in the new Setting. This will allow for the players to attend monthly meetings of werewolves that involve challenges, spiritual rituals, and clearing of enemies from their territory. I've been a long time player of the WW game, so please if you'd like more details or have any questions, feel free to ask and I can clarify. I also have all the books in pdf form (bought by me, not downloaded for free) so I can provide any information needed. I'd really like at least 3 players for this game, but considering the nature of the Werewolf packs, I'd like to keep it under 6 players, if I can even get that many. Player ListRojito Nobu (Presumably) Tork TheUdjat Sinister Der (If I can convince him) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, I’m going to type out some background information regarding the setting and history of the world. Just putting them up in hopes of capturing more people's interest in playing the game, as I still have a few spots open. For those who have played Werewolf before, then this should all be familiar to you. For the others, I’d suggest reading it so you can become immersed in the history of the world. Now, the history I’ve chosen is actually from Werewolf the Apocalypse. Ive copied some of the writings from the old book here, so that you can get a sense of the world. This was moved, can be viewed here.

I'd like to see another modern game around here. We haven't gotten much White Wolf, either, except for Arclite's earlier attempts.
My plate's a bit full to throw in my hat without a little forethought, but consider me solidly interested. I'll drop out if there are enough players to fill your 5-person quota, though.
Also - could you put the system/setting in the title so it looks like the other posts on this thread? Just a moderator preference.

Sweet. Glad to have you and your RL friend aboard Rojito. Though, if I may ask, why is WW your least favorite of the WoD games? Just curious, that's all.

not WW, just WTF, i dont know i have never been able to get my mind around it. I prefer Mage The Awakening the most, then probably Vampire (any of the settings) then Promethian or Changeling... of couse the base human transformations... Biokinetisism is always fun

I'm very sad I never got to play a game of Mage: The Ascension. Beautiful storyline, and the most free-form magic system I've ever seen. Sigh.

Mage is amazing, but you have to be really careful, its a really hard system since there is no real limitations. Your dm has to know spellcasting in and out to do it right. My personal storyteller (Nobu) has run campaigns with me as a mage like four or five times, and we are still workin on perfecting it...

Oh, no doubt, tricky as hell. But conceptually stunning. Which, really, is the way these things go, it seems--the more intricate and open-ended a concept, the more complicated the mechanics tend to be. M:tA has plenty of limitations on what you can do, they're just not very well-defined. Which is, again, why I've yet to play it. Everyone's afraid to run it.

Personally I've always been a big Werewolf fan, but I've also always wanted to play in a good Vampire game. The only problem is that all of the vampire games I've played in have been very combat oriented. To me that game is all about politics and subtle maneauvering, and it should take place over years, not days. That's just my opinion though.
Mage, well, I never got a chance to play that, so I really don't know all that much about it. I know the basic idea, and have read a little through the book, but not enough to know much about the world itself.
Anyways, so far we 'might' have 4 players. So we have room for one more person (or more if TheUdjat sits out). So I'll wait a little longer before posting character creation rules.

Modified my starting post with additional information. It's mainly about setting and history. Hopefully that will spark someone's interest so they want to play too

Id' love to get in on this -a heavy RP game that's not D&D or D20 would make for a nice change of pace- but unfortunately I'm pretty full around here lately. I know people usually don't chime in to say they're not playing, but I wanted to let you know the reason I won't be playing doesn't stem from disinterest.

Well thanks for posting. Seems like most people just stay silent. Makes me feel like no one really reads my posts.
It's sad that you're too busy, would be nice to have more players. I mean, if people prefer a slower game, I personally don't mind simply posting once a week for it. I know both you and TheUdjat are pressed for time, so I could just say that I'll post every Wednesday or something, that way everyone gets plenty of time to post.
Up to you of course, but if I need to only post once a week to get two more players, I'm perfectly willing to do so.

I'm with Bad* on this, sadly. I read it and it seems like an interesting game but I'm in plenty of games as it is. I know some people can play dozens of characters at the same time to good effect, but as for me, even if I had seas of time, I'd still prefer to be able to focus on just a few characters, as I quickly feel like I'm spreading myself too thin over too many games. So don't feel discouraged if people don't post; it's not a sign of disinterest!

Thanks for posting too. I guess some people are reading it, heh.
Once again though, it's sad that you're too busy. Understandable considering the volume of games that most of you are contributing to. Maybe if the short runs well enough, I'll convert it to a campaign. If that happens, maybe by then some time will free up, whether it by having more or a game you were in finishes up.
Still though, right now I really don't have enough players to start. So far the only comfirmed players are Rojito and Tork.

Is there still room to join?
I'm a little new to this online RP'ing but i'm pretty familiar with the old setting. The new rules are still a mystery to me, but with Jolith's help, i'll be able to function.
If, of course, there's room.

Yeah, there's still room Sinister. Would be glad to have you aboard. No worries about the new rules, I can definitely help you out with those, so that's not a problem.
So now we have three confirmed people, enough to get things underway.
Rojito, just let me know within the next couple of days, while I get things set up, if Nobu is interested. No super rush, but just let me know. Thanks.
TheUdjat, you were a little undecided considering the time constraints, so I just wanted to know if you think you'll be able to jump on board. If not that's cool. Right now we still only have 3 people, so another would be welcome. If you and Nobu do join, that would give me the five people.
