Remember when I said that I wished iTunes was more like Lala? Well I might get might wish. Apple has purchased Lala so that iTunes may be getting a cloud component. Just think, no more lost music. If it turns out the way I think it will, then I will start building a larger music collection.

Another new trend in music is services like Spotify (currently available in Europe) that gives you real time access to streaming music of your choice. You supposedly have access to millions of songs all playable without any buffer delay. Services like these will charge monthly fees but with no song limit.
Also, I learned today of FreeAllMusic which lets you download 5 free DRM free MP3's per week in exchange for watching ads.

I had to send my iPad off for repair. It had a horizontal line that wouldn't go away.
There some good news though. I was allowed to re-download all the music I had lost before. You can go to the apple home page and by following all the appropriate links, you can request a re-download of all your music.
And on the subject of music, the new thing going around right now is Pandora Internet Radio. If you hadn't tried it yet, I would highly recommend it.

Procedure to turn iPhone into WiFi hotspot.

1: Verify compatibility by checking firmware and iBoot version of the phone.

Basically firmware 312 is desirable over 313 and iBoot 359.3.2 may give you problems. I think I had 359.3 without the .2 on the end.
2: Download BlackRain and put the file in the same folder on you computer containing the asl.dll file.

Search for the folder containing asl.dll and run blackrain from that folder.
It is commonly locatated in C:Program Files/Common Files/Apple Application Support
3: Run BlackRain from the above location with phone connected to computer. Disable auto-syncing in iTunes if necessary.
4: Run Cydia and look for MyWi, download it.
5: Create a 'Rock' account then on PC you can start a 10 day free trial. (Required by MyWi)

6: For a bluetooth laptop, the pairing procedure was complicated. Don't remember all the details. I think there is a network setup link on the network connection screen that leads you to the bluetooth option.
7: Couldn't pair iPad to iPhone using bluetooth so I turned on the WiFi on the iPhone in the MyWi app. iPad connects to iPhone through WiFi. I recommend using the WEP option to password protect it.
