Gone Writin'

So, it's like this.

I'm caught up writing something new and, for once, it's not the kind of thing I need frequent breaks from. This is something of a rarity, being so gung-ho about something that I have pretty much no time to spend between it and my regular ongoing life. As a side effect, my activities on this site have suffered--even games I'm in, not running, which is pretty new for me. Please don't take it harshly. It's just that whenever I set a priority list for creative activities, novel writing invariably tops the list if I am inspired to devote time to it; and I am.

So that's where I am, that's what I've been doing, and that's what I hope to be doing for a little while yet until I revert back to the steady crafting style I usually have. I will try to come up for air enough for the games I'm in, but the ones I'm running are kinda stuck until I crawl out of my hole. I beg your forgiveness.

For those who follow my steady pursuit of noveldom, this is indeed a brand new story for me and is proceeding remarkably well so far, though it is yet young. We'll see what happens. I did a crazy thing and made a very detailed outline before I dove in this time, and it has been serving me well.

Sucks that you are going to be gone but take this oppertunity and run with it! it truelly is rare that you get not just the urge and drive to continue the writing, but the inspiration to keep it going. Dont stop for anything... other than eating... maybe...

Well, as it stands, I can't run my game too far along w/o you, and yours is the only other game I'm involved in, but I really don't mind the absence and don't want you to stop if you're on a streak, so go for it. Update here when you can.

I'll try to get At's character started in the meantime.

Good to hear you have been struck with some inspiration. Go with it, these things can be fickle. I have no problem delaying the start up of CoC since you are the only player. Plus I have started working on a D&D game setting myself - It's in the community board and I'd love to get your opinion if you get a chance.

Go for it. I'd give a mountain of gold for the very thing you're now experiencing. Don't feel pressed into posting in my campaign for a while: Yakumo and Rojito are with Gerhard so I can keep you on hold for a while. Still, any posts would be appreciated.

Now, where did I put that mountain of gold?

I've always said that inspiration's a fickle woman. If she's graced you with her presence, spend as much time as you need with her.

Update:

This has been an amazingly productive month for me. I'm sitting on Chapter 23 right now, winding down into the last third or fourth of the book. I don't think I've ever written something this fast before, so know that my absence has been well worth it. Once I wrap up the first draft I'll take the time to do a little backtracking and fixing of plot elements before I leave it alone for a few weeks, which should find me roaming around on here more frequently again. So, know that progress is being made and I haven't forgotten things here!

I'm always curious to hear more about your writing, so should you feel inclined to give us a little synopsis or even just a few hints as to what kind of book you're writing, I'd be all ears.
