We had a dragon to fight...I think. Yes, but do you still want to fight an encounter designed for 8 with only 5? Unless someone objects, I'm just going to gloss over the fight with the dragon, the return to elvish town, the return to the tower, and the return to Moonhaven. There the group will split, and this fraction will pick up a new member. The other option is that our new member takes over one of the old characters for the fight and we run the rest as NPCs (anyone who wants to can run them).

The using of old characters would be only if the consensus was to play out the dragon character. I only have one vote, and it was to skip over to town where we can change characters.

The characters are 2nd level with 100 GP of starting equipment. I'll be giving each new character a magic item that I think is appropriate (you can make suggestions). I'll also be awarding cash or ritual components equal to the cash of the established characters, I just don't know how much that is yet.
I've started the wrap up in the dragon lair thread. The next step is deciding what treasure was there...
Hmm, that could be a problem, my DDI subscription didn't renew. Guess I'll need to save that till later.

The remaining original characters are:
Harknail (Warforged paladin) Raylynn (Eladrin Artificer) Laira(unwen) Elereth (Half-Elf Warlock) Zachary Tempest (Human Wizard)
adding: Scott (Dwarf Ranger/Rogue Hybrid)
All the roles are covered, with two strikers and 1 each of the others. So it's wide open for whatever role you wish.
Moonhaven is a primarily human town. Elves and Shifters live in near by villages, dwarves a bit further out, Dragonborn even further in the opposite direction. But almost anything could arrive by boat from the civilized areas.

kk and the books allowed? Any books are allowed (even the ones I don't have), but setting specific features such as spellscars, dragonmarks, etc. are not. Likewise, only general background elements are allowed, and you actually need to write a background story to get those (see the existing characters for examples). Also WarForged haven't been made in a very very long time. Harknail just escaped from being buried underground. Prayers have kept him sane (more or less).

Ok, what system we useing to get attributes? Standard 22 point point buy, or pick a standard array since that's basically the same thing.

I vote for saying, the people who aren't showing up died heroically in the fight with the dragon.

I vote for saying, the people who aren't showing up died heroically in the fight with the dragon. I thought of that, but I wanted to leave the door open for them to come back. I suppose I could have some die and others be permanently injured, like I did with the last cleric.

Hey guys... so uhh my character is a full blooded Orc, so was wondering if any of you had in the past spent any time not killing these beasts and might know him. Basically i am having a bit of a problem bringing him into the fold of why your guys would accept him into the group and am looking for another player to work with me on a bit of a backstory

"Orcs prefer to wear colors that most humans think unpleasant: blood red, rust red, mustard yellow, yellow green, moss green, greenish purple, and blackish brown. Their armor is unattractive besides — dirty and often a bit rusty."
I'd guess no.
As far as an orc PC goes, our best bet honestly might be to pick him back in town where an NPC we'd trust vouches for him. Orcs normally routinely stab their friends in the back, otherwise I don't see why we would trust one.
Otherwise . . Well orcs are listed as having racial enmities with: elves, dwarves, humans, gnomes, halflings, goblins, hobgoblins, and even other orc tribes. Oh, and they're also very sexist.

I think that's why having a common backstory where one of the PC characters already knows this Orc would help. But I can pick on one of the previous PCs for that role if no one is interested.
