Well, as of right now. If we include you and h3adcra6z0m613 that puts us up to 6 players.
So far we have
Defender - Shifter Warden Leader - Warforged Runepriest Striker - ? Rogue Controller - Human Wizard
I was going to play a defender or striker (Eladrin Swordmage or Githerzai Monk), which it appears you were also. So just decide which you'd rather play, and I'll fill in the other.

We have a confirmed Runepriest (melee leader) and Wizard. The Swordmage is tentative on not getting another defender as I believe Jolith wants to play a monk. My runepriest will shine best with more melee focused allies, but it's not necessary to make him jiive. So play whatever you will enjoy, and I'm sure we can work it out - though if you've an attraction to fighter I'll subtly recommend it

It's odd for me to play a high charisma character, but I think I would like to try out the Sorcerer -- but, he will also have 18 Str, so his basic melee attacks won't be that bad, even if he's only using a dagger.

Alright, so that gives us one of each role. I guess the question is, which role would be good for us to double up on.
BTW, if you haven't noticed, sometimes I can become fickle. I've only played a few classes so far in 4e, so there is a lot I'd like to try. That's why I don't mind filling in for a role that would help the group.

Assaulting Swordmage bridges three roles - Defender/Controller/Striker so it is a good fit for the double up. But, doubling up on strikers is never a bad idea (more damage makes shorter battles) but the runepriest is a low tier healer (in terms of healing) so a leader might help too...
Really, I don't think it matters - once we have a party together and we start getting into the game we can adjust our tactics to correspond to our party make-up. My table group survives quite well without a leader, and without any particular optimization. They know their strengths and make use of them to cover their weaknesses.

I've almost got my Sorcerer fleshed out. He tends a lot toward controller, with all close blast damage he will be throwing around.

Sounds good to me. I'll cut the recruitment at six for now. This allows me to play with the encounters a bit and if someone drops out it isn't game ending.

Alright, so right now we're waiting on Rojito and h3adcra6z0m613 to put up their characters.
For now I'll just stay as the Swordmage. Depending on what h3adcra6z0m613 and Rojito post up, I may change to another class.

ITEMS Adventurer's Kit, Hide Armor, Heavy Shield, Scimitar ====== Copy to Clipboard and Press the Import Button on the Summary Tab ======
As for what you can play, in 4e, it's very easy to double up on rolls and get away with it. Especially a striker. Also I will mention, between all the books and the dragon magazines, there are enough powers in each class to choose your path. I, for example, have chosen all single target powers. My guy will be more of a hunter personality, and he's going to focus on a big prey in a fight.

Most of my Sorcerer,s powers are area of effect--I'm going to go for maximum firepower, so he is a bit of a squish, and could probably kill 'himself' in one round with little difficulty.

Lol, you know you can kill yourself if you catch yourself in your own Creature Targeting spells. (there's an oddball Dragonborn sorc build out there based on this actually, by some feat or Paragon Path ability you can recharge your breath weapon if you take damage of its type so this Sorc includes themselves in their own AoE spells to recharge their breath weapon and spew it every round - it's rather strange ). Just watch your fireballs and my face

In this case, all it would take is two hits (vs a Ref of 11) and and average damage roll on both. His fire powers would ignore his own fire resistance, so, with an action point, he could kill a clone of himself in one round.

Character creation:32 point buy in ... Yakumo, did you really mean a 32 point buy? The standard is 22. Did you merely make a typo, or did you want us more powerful than the average adventurer? I'm perfectly happy with playing either way, but h3adcra6z0m613 just brought to my attention that you posted a 32 point buy. Going through all of the characters, currently everyone is using a 22 point buy in, should we adjust our characters, giving them 10 more points? Edit: Also, it appears that Rojito hasn't logged onto the site in like 12 days. So not sure what you want to do about that.

Sorry about the no show. Yeah 22 point buy in, Im so used to saying 32 for 3.5. Sorry about all the delays, I got caught up in something, but it's all finished and Im ready to go here.

Cool, then I believe everyone's character is correct. So we won't have to make any adjustments now.

I'd really like to play if there's still room, I've never played 4e so this should be fun.
