New Information at the bottom of this thread, in big bold letters like this.
There's already been a lot of discussion about this, but to be fair, I thought it was worth posting in here for everybody's benefit.
The long-dormant Dark Sun game will rise again, to begin sometime in the near future (a specific start date has not been made). I've been getting setting material together, putting the plot in place again, developing NPCs, etc - and a few players have been working on characters. There are currenlty 5 players slated to play, but I'm willing to accept more.
Specifically, anyone that was involved in the old Dark Sun game has a guaranteed spot this time around. This includes KMan, Vemu (both of whom are in the above 5), IstarinCale, and a couple inactives (Wizard, Kauyon, etc) that I would not be unhappy to see again.
So, if you're interested, drop a line here.
Current Players: Vemu KMan TopTomCat Rojito Deekin
IstarinCale
Visit the Closed Boards for any setting-related information and rules questions.

Not only I'm interested, I also have Eomer, (I might change his name) who was my character back then in the old Dark Sun. (:

I'll give it a try If, and only if, you have enough space for another player. RL is a bit busy right now, so I'll gladly step dow to let a younger player in.

You're both welcome to join. I'll tentatively put the cap at 8 players, so if I get two more, I'll knock you off the list, Arclite.
Eomer will be in company! That ups our Mul count to three.

By the way, I don't remember where I got all the info to create the character and about the world, so would you remind me?

www.athas.org and the SRD are almost exclusively what I'm using. I'm using a few things from the Sandstorm book, though.

I think I'm gonna have to pull out of this one. It has everything I'd look for in a game (flavor, setting, backstory) but I just Don't have the time to play. Sorry.

No problem, Arclite. It's bad to stretch yourself too thin - I've been there, myself.

Alright, campaign signup is officially closed. I'd like to get characters finished by the end of next week at latest so we can get this show on the road. Currently, what I need from people: Deekin - Nothing. You're ready and set to go. TTC - Background, revised equipment per the new rules (much as I hate to see your flavor text deleted. ) Rojito - Background. KMan - Revised equipment. I know I gave you some unique things last time (as with Vemu and Istarin), but I can't remember what my plan was back then. The Heart of Magma is still yours. I also need to work with you on changes to the Gladiator class. Vemu - Revised equipment Istarin - Revised equipment. As with KMan, there are also some changes with the Gladiator class that need to be integrated. All those needing backstory should come up with a suitable reason to be working for the Nibenese Templarate on a secret mission. Getting into trouble with them, inadvertantly being sold to them as a slave, or simply being hired as a trusted associate of the City-State are all viable options.

Dark Sun is reopened for new players!
Due to recent events, including the loss of one player, there is space within the Dark Sun game for more players. Because we are already into the plot, though, what can be played may be a little confining. If you are interested in joining the game, please PM me to discuss details. I don't need many more players - 1 to 3 at most. Priority will be given to people new to the boards, as ever.
This is a good chance to join an ongoing campaign, which is just starting to get even more interesting. See the Shards of the Dragon boards for more information on setting and basic character guidelines.
And remember - PM me if you are interested before doing anything else (except thinking. You're allowed to think.)

I've already talked to you, but just wanted to post letting people know that I'm up for joining the game.
I've worked on my character already, but I still have to finish up the details. Hopefully I'll be able to post him either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Since you're new, I think I can squeeze in one more player. I'll PM you with details.
Game is officially closed again as of now, though.

SHARDS IS REOPENED FOR NEW PLAYERS!!
Read on for more details... Shards is only a few months away from ending, but due to player entropy, the proportion of PCs to NPCs is noticeably off. Therefore, there are some old characters and NPCs that could use fine, upstanding folks to play them. I can give any background/tips for each, and a general summary of abilities/equipment (customization is encouraged and appreciated). The individuals include: - Kevalla, undead Templar of Nibenay, torn between revenge and duty and the need to persevere. - Zerik Alkein, human telepath in service to Nibenay, known for his calm demeanor and powerful mind powers. His role remains a mystery... - Ouriah, a dwarven slave assigned to Furni, the Royal Defiler (and another player). She appears simple and weak, an anomaly on the quest... or is she? - Skeksis, a flightless aarakocra and immensely powerful Seer. His is a journey of friendship, freedom, and to unravel the secret of the Shards and put a stop to their influence. - Unnamed Yuan-ti, Mynok's captor and a snakeman on a mission, skilled with bow and blade, his loyalties not quite known--but it is clear that he looks for Per-Wadjet. Any takers? We'd love to have you!http

Dark Sun always did intrigue me, though I never really had the guts to play. Instead, I spent my time lurking on the boards and watching the story unfold from an outside perspective. But if there are indeed slots open I wouldn't mind playing an already established character.

My computer screen is telling me that Arclite just posted, but surely I am delusional from too much cold medication. But if by some twist in reality that truly is Arclite, I'd have to admit that he'd be welcome on board, and that I would need to know who he felt he could play. ...I'm probably seeing things, though.

Udjat, it must be because you've been sick lately that you're getting delusions, it really can't be Arcl...
Well, I'll be damned: it is Arclite! Just a different avatar, that's all. Welcome back, and do join Dark Sun!

These aren't the commies that you're looking for... Move along... Damn, that always works in the movies. Your screen/various cold medicines do not decieve you Udjat, tis I. Though I admit that it isn't the first time I've lurked around here since my mysterious demise. The stars are aligned in the just the right fashion to allow me to jump from the metaphorical back alley on to the boards. I notice that things have slowed down a bit over here, but it still seems to be the K'mans that remember. As for this thread however, I'm looking at the Unnamed Yuanti or Zerik for possible character choices. Undead are creepy(;D) and I'm not sure that I could pull off Skeksis or Ouriah without either mauling the character or killing the story respectively.
