Once Ka'lion is out of the pit, Vadania goes back to her original plan, to go back the way they came until they reach a spot where they can discreetly change course and get out of sight without leaving tracks. Unfortunately, the loss of time will make that more difficult.

"Thank you." says Ka'lion and gives his mule a hug and a smile, then he pushes the mule to a movement of forty. Where it is not double speed it is going to keep the mules mind of off the surrounding dangers. Ka'lions intent is to force the lizardmen to fall behind or to run at double speed so they are tired when they catch up to the party.

Vadania watches Ka'lion dash off on his own yet again. Shaking her head, she says to the others, "Well we tried."
OOC: You seem very determined to leave the party for some reason. Even doing a double move, Vadania's best speed is 10

Vadania will lead the rest of the group (those that didn't run off on their own) back along the trail they came, so as to confuse those tracking them. She looks for a place where they can leave that trail without leaving marks and hide.

As Vadania gathers the party a pair of lizardmen rush into sight to the North some hundred yards away. They have not spotted the group yet but are sure to do so in moments.
(I need to know where Ka'lion is headed before I can post the lizardmens movements, at this point the only way the party could have announced its presence more loudly would have been with a fireworks display...)

Why is Vadania moving at 10? Never mind I'm sorry I forgot about the dwarf, but doesn't the dwarf move at 20?. Ka'lion is taking the mule back they way the party came looking for somewhere to safely put her. So he can go in with the party that's going to get him killed at their speeds. At 100 feet before the lizard men get to the party he can take the mule two rounds back the way they came and then run back at double speed to help them. Ka'lion needs the parties help to do the job but their speeds mean they well never be able to run away from anything - that hydra would of had us for lunch if the party didn't run.

Sorry, I missed checking in on this the last few days.
Darrian, convinced now that his safety and best chance of getting to the other end of the valley lays with the elf, follows suit, heading back with her along their tracks.

The newly arriving lizardmen slow, still far from the party, and once again the sound of a horn rings out across the valley.
"D' y' think we can escape 'em?" asked Maddy, though her tone indicated she already knew the answer - darkness was still to far away, this would be no orderly retreat or stealthy escape, if the group was to run they were running for their lives.
(I'll assume the group is running for it unless anyone wants to take different actions)

Feeling that fighting is not an option the group make best speed back into the swamp, hoping that the lizardmen would spend time gathering their numbers before pursuit and that Vadanias skill would find a clear path.
The party runs long into the night until at last they are forced to stop through exhaustion. The lizardmen are nowhere to be seen but they might be tracking the group yet. Feeling the ground firmer underfoot Vadania seeks out a place to rest, finding what appears to be the remains of an old stone tower which Darrian notes is of dwarven construction.
The tower has no roof and the floors of the upper levels have long since rotted away but the walls still stand firm, relatively, and will shield the group from the wind and rain.
Everyone is fatigued, Fort DC 15 or be exhausted and take D6 points of non-lethal damage.
A new day rolls around without further incident, the group half a day from their target - though perhaps wise not to take a direct return route.

Fort save Ka'lion[dice=20]+5=11, keeping his pet moving was tiring, but he knows the lizardmen will already know where this tower is so it will not belong before the party is surrounded. They have some time for a little rest and then they need to leave. fort save mule[dice=20]+6=19 Ka'lion search for dwarf passage with in the structure [dice=20]+6=25[rand=269440420670434839379372445400804483733810484409332912064178381115]

They just changed - the first rolls where 6 for Ka'lion and 10 for the mule but I couldn't remember Kilions saves so I looked it up. then the roll came up 5 for the mule and 14 for ka'lion before modifiers -so I changed the order - so the mule saves both times Ka'lion fells both times - basically I was dealing with a computer glitch - I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I've been trying to keep the game honest as best I can.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem but I've been trying to keep the game honest as best I can. ok, it happens. Might I suggest you use the preview option if you want to write text in once you know the result of a roll rather than editing after posting.

Both Vadania and Ylva were used to long hard nights. They were tired, but not exhausted. The tower made a good place to rest for the night. While the tower itself was readily visible, it was far enough away, it should be safe. Vadania did the best she could to make sure they didn't leave tracks leading to the tower, just in case they were being tracked. Also she mad sure the group had someone on watch to wake the others if the lizardmen came in sight. She didn't trust Ka'lion to stand watch alone, but she did trust Ylva, who was trained to stand watches when it was just the two of them in the wild.

I don't see any preview feature. Most of the reason I keep going back in is to correct spelling or grammar errors. I'm dyslexic so spelling is tough for me. Ka'lion after searching the tower well sleep with his mule outside in a plant filled area with lots of cover nearby. He'll also give the mule some oats. He'll take early watch as that is the coldest time of the day.

Ka'lion is too exhausted to do much more than find a place to sleep - without starlight and no fire, lest it draw the lizardmen, there is little the human can do in the darkness.
In the morning he conducts a more thorough search. Beneath the tower, deemed too unsafe a resting place by both Vadania and Darrian, he finds scattered scraps of cloth and small animal bones - the place has been used as a shelter by some creature or creatures but they are not present now.

[dice=20] + 1 = 21 Fort save
Darrian is definitely not used to this kind of running, but he manages to hold in there well enough.
A small flame of optimism stirs inside him at finding the tower. First, what could be dwarven ruins in the distance, and now this; it certainly seems he was not mislead after all.
As much as his interests lie in uncovering what he came for originally, he is a patient dwarf, and he knows aiding this group first in order to gain their help in return is the best way to proceed. He bides his time, exhausted, and tries to get some sleep.
He makes yet another mental note before nodding off; the elf is definitely the one who he wants to be on good terms with. This barbarian seems to make brash decisions at every turn, and if they continue, he may have to reconsider the usefulness of this group's aid... He has seen all kinds on his journey, so this barbarian isn't bad next to some, but Darrian needs to make sure he doesn't muddy his priorities out of kindness, something he has in short supply.[rand=993448209483176513201024080626667824515810236334818516211514361203]

(free free to pick new spells, have characters interact, and decide on the groups next destination and how long they plan on staying at the tower. Ka'lion in particular has managed to work through most of his hitpoints running back and forth at every encounter.)
