Are we still in the remains of the tower? I thought we left after the earthquake. That changes what Vadania does. You were preparing to leave, but I was waiting for a firm decision on where to go - it was all discussion and no choice.

As party leader going or staying is entirely up to Vadania. This is not a democracy. Whoever in charge tells you what to do and you do whatever needs to be done the best you can.

In any event - the newcomers are spotted before the group departs the tower, you may attack them (roll init), seek to set an ambush, or see to run from and evade them.
It is light, the sun is up and the ever present clouds obscure the sky.

Vandania puts finger to lips to indicate quiet, then says softly, "We'll ambush them if they come in here." then waves people into position to ambush them if they enter the tower. With only one way in or out, fighting in here lets up keep the pigmies from surrounding us.
She directs Aelos and Ylva to either side of the doorway. She motions Darrian to join her in the back rank. She leaves Madaline and Ka'lion to pick their own preferred ambush spots.

The pygmies are blissfully unaware of the groups presence. Roll init as required and post an action with the range at which you wish to attack. Note that if you leave it too late they may spot something amiss - your risk to take if you want to open fire or hold out for melee.

What Vadania has in mind is to try to get out of sight of their direct line of approach. After all, they may just be passing by and we may not need to fight at all. If the pigmies come close enough to see inside, Vadania will shoot one. If they respond by charging inside, Ylva (and hopefully the others as well) will attack as soon as they enter, keeping the fight limited to just a few pigmies able to strike at us at a time.

Ka'lion holds his attack. His sling is as likely to hit someone with in his own party in this cramped space. Madaline and the others hold their position until Vadania fires.
Ka'lion peers between the cracks in the wall, but each pygmy looks distinct - he is unsure of how to tell a leader from another in gaudy attire, or a spellcaster from a fool.

The first pygmy collapses and then crawls into cover as his companions are momentarily confused, as a well placed slingstone from Madaline knocks another to the ground.
The dwarf Darrian casts a spell that creates a glittering sheen across the ground before the tower and Aelos, noting that Ka'lion still showed signs of his misadventures the day before, does what he can to cure the barbarians injuries.
The pygmies scatter into cover shouting and cursing in a strange language, drawing all manner of odd weapons as they dash towards the tower. Madaline shouts something equally crude back at them, trying to lift the spirits of the group against the onrushing mob.
11 pygmies standing, 45 feet, sparse cover grants them +4 AC Madalines encouragement grants a +2 moral bonus on your weapon attack and damage rolls.
Init order: 25 - Ka'lion <---- next to act 13 - Pygmies (diving for cover this turn) 12 - Madaline (bardsong) 9 - Ylva & Vadania 7 - Darrian & Aelos

Ka'lion withdraws to the back of the tower, slinging a stone towards the pygmies that misses them all. The other members of the party remain crouched behind the towers foremost walls where the would be sheltered from the stones and spears the pygmies carry.

Darrian & Aelos need to go before Ka'lion can attack again. I just knew he'd have a horrible shot last turn - his next short can only improve. After Darrian & Aelos go send me a message and I'll play.
