The priest's gaze continues around without hesitation, and upon completing his sweep the lizardmen rise slightly and prepare to move.
There is a brief discussion between the priest and oddly dressed lizard who then barks an order of some kind to the others. They move apart into a loose formation and head east at a brisk pace, in the direction of the crypt.

Vadania exhales a sigh of relief. She's not happy about the direction they are traveling in though.

"Unless we move fast we are not going to get there first." says Ka'lion Aelos stands and looks around, "I doubt we could out-pace them in this terrain"

"I can but, I'd never be able to fight them by myself - unless - hum - may be, just maybe." said Ka'lion looking at the wolf.
Ka'lion's thinking slowing the lizards down with the wolf while the rest of the party does an all night-er to get to the site first. I the player don't even know it that's legal with in the rules but the math does add up - the Joe plays the wolf and I play Ka'lion and GM plays the lizard folk while we use hit and run tactics to detract and lead the lizard men off target. The party gets to the site and Ka'lion and the wolf catch up and meet the part about 4 hours latter. It's enough time for the party to set up an ambush and check the site. A divided lizard team improves both party's chances. But it only works if the druid will trust Ka'lion - doubtful with his wolfs safety and only if the party doesn't stop and if Ka'lion has some means of fallowing the party.

Vadania responded, "The brush won't slow me down as much, but I doubt I could pass them either. But while they are heading in the direction of the crypt, we don't know that it's their destination. They may be tracking the Wizard we fought, or some other prey that happened to be heading that way. I suggest we continue as a group, but move to the side of the lizardmen trail so as to avoid them if they find their prey and turn around. Even if they do get the the Crypt first, they may divide up and be easier to fight."
Vadania had her own questions, "By the way Ka'lion, why did you toss a stone? That put them on high alert and could have easily given away our hiding place."
No, that wouldn't work. Ylva is well trained, but she is still just an animal. Vadania would need to be there to give the commands to Ylva. She can just tell Ylva to follow Ka'lion and do what he says.
Vadania looks for more berries for her daily goodberry spell.

"The stone was neasisary. They had no reason not to walk right into our camp. For all we know. This was where they where headed and they where coming this way. It was destraction or get killed. At range we can reduce their numbers - I wish I had a good bow. But that's not the case. In a hand to hand fight we are dead unless their numbers have been reduced first." said Ka'lion picking up his ax and putting it away. He does the same with his potion.
"What I'm thinking is your wolf and I fallow the lizard men and keep them looking for us. I continue to toss rocks to keep their attention while you guys pull an all nighter and get to the site first. The math works. Your wolf can keep up with me. You take my horse (mule) with you. We just keep the lizard men spooked enough to hunt us. You set up a trail we can follow a few hours behind you. When you get to the site set up an ambush should the wizard or the lizard men be headed there and check the site over after we catch up. On the off chance that the demon is free. I still want to know how to fight the thing." asked Ka'lion looking at the parties leader.

OOC: Who is Ka'lion looking at as party leader? Our wizard is in a different group now.
Vadania replies, "When you are trying to stay unnoticed, the last thing you want is a distraction that raises the attention level. Although it looked scary, they were just walking past our camp until your thrown stone got them to stop and look around carefully. The distraction is great when you need to do something without being noticed, but it's is a really bad idea when you're just staying put hoping not to be noticed!"
"As for you heading off with Ylva, Ylva doesn't know you that well and wouldn't follow your commands. And realistically, I don't feel I can trust you not to get her killed. So far, it seems like every one of your decisions has just made things worse. You've convinced me that you're not a spy, but you haven't convinced me to follow your lead in anything."

I thought the wizard was with us. What do we have 2 parties now? Have I been dejected from the group? If so perhaps I should leave the game if I've destroyed the game for everyone.

I thought the wizard was with us. What do we have 2 parties now? Have I been dejected from the group? If so perhaps I should leave the game if I've destroyed the game for everyone. This should be in the discussion thread. Yes, we've been split into 2 parties. The characters whose players have dropped continued on towards the original goal. The rest of us were sent to follow the evil wizard to a different crypt to see if that is actually where he is going and if he's disturbing the wards.

Were we actually tracking the wizard, or just making our own way to where we're afraid he might be going. If tracking, did the lizard men seem to be following the same tracks? If not can we find any signs of what they ate tracking?

Aelos looks at his map, "we should reach this place a little after mid-day, if the path is clear.", he glances towards Maddy who nods as he states "i'd not have expected to see lizardmen this far east of the fell"I thought the wizard was with us. The wizard's player - slypride - hasn't logged in since June, so he's been split off from the party with blastishy's character. Were we actually tracking the wizard No. Given the speed at which the lizardmen moved off they appear to have given up on tracking too, either spooked or concerned about something else.

"Midday? Okay, do we know where it is?" asked Ka'lion

Aelos shows Ka'lion the map. It doesn't bear the markings of the other, having been taken from the guards, but does show a valley a number of miles to the west.
"Belomme said that it was the site of a particularly bloody battle, with one force trapped within the valley by forces from both sides and slaughtered to a man. Rather than carry the dead through the swamp a mausoleum was dug into the side of the valley itself.". Aelos rubs his chin in thought, "though he did not mention who fought, or when, or why."

"Then before we head in we should check both sides of the valley just to be sure we are not headed into an ambush. It well added a day to our trip or more." said Ka'lion, "But it might give us a clue to what each attacker was. We may find artifacts or old bones or the living past renewed or the walking dead or all of that and more. I wish someone could fly. It would give us more information."

Vadania shakes her head, "That battle was a long time ago and doesn't have anything to do with us. We can check the end of the valley were we're entering, but getting to the other side of a valley without going though it is not an easy thing to do. But I think we're all agreed that we should get moving."
"Ka'lion, those berries you took yesterday should still keep hunger away for a while yet. Here's a berry for everyone else for a quick breakfast.
Vadania gives the last 3 berries from yesterday to Ylva, Aelos, and Madaline. The mule has it's fodder. As for Vadania, she'll gnaw on some hardtack from her pack as they travel.
While traveling, Vadania looks for more berries for her daily goodberry spell.
GM: Is she able to find berries?

"Vadania. The point of this entire trip is to check on the past. I just don't care to be blindfolded while we do it? We cannot handle being ambushed - remember there where no survivors. Unless we know the area we are likely to walk into a trap. We need to use our brains. It's the only chance we've got." said Ka'lion
