Ka'lion looks at the group. "How are you feeling? None of you look like your in any condition to try to keep up with me and I'm not leaving my companion to die at the end of some lizard mans spear party. She's a good Friend and she's inquisitive."

Vadania answered, "Of course we'll be going after your mule. But we can't keep up with you even when we're fresh. And you point out, we are not in good shape. But if you slow to our pace, I'll be getting more spells at dawn, and I think Aelos will as well. It will take us a few minutes to pray to get our spells. It's up to you if you want to wait for us or not."
Vadania considers animals important. She is a Druid after all.

"I'd like to help, though I too am not in the best condition. If there are too many lizardman, we may have to wait before retrieving your mule." Aelos is willing to help, but figures that a fatigued party will only be practice for the lizardmen.

What time of day to Aelos recover his Cleric spells? Probably either dawn or noon for a good cleric. We may be able to recover at least HP soon.

Ka'lion is no fool, he'll wait but he is still very grouchy and concerned. He's got a mask on his head that wont come off, a lost Friend and he's changing into something he does not understand. He had thought his skills in the Field would of improved by now. And he's hungry and the mask inter-fears with him eating and drinking. He'll be slowed by his gear to the parties slower pace as he is carrying a medium load. Ka'lion takes twenty to study the unknown wolfs, lizardmens and the mules tracks. roll 20+ 6 search check to know time when his mule left and the time the lizardmen started to follow him. Note: in addition he should be able to determine the number, speed and size of the lizardmen and mule based on their feet and how deep the tracks are. Currently he is also studying the wolf tracks of the wolf they met the night before and comparing them to the wolf in the party so he wont be unable to tell the difference when it matters. This party has not rested so the arcane casters will be unable to regain their spells. They are not going to like that and Ki'lion knows it.
BTW: after he is done he'll take the time to try and remember his grandmothers instructions as to figuring out command words for items. Knowledge religion +5+roll= [dice=20], knowledge nature and arcane +6 + roll=[dice=20].
GM: I know you told me to make one roll at a time. But it sounds to me as if the party is stalling for good reasons. In any case 20 minutes to study tracks is more then enough time to have a good idea as to what is going on and thinking about grandmas instructions about magic items will keep him from snapping at people for no reason.[rand=35044010356068612997703300788998690526498458348215082168206572533]

GM: I know you told me to make one roll at a time. You can make more than one roll, you just need to remember that they'll be spaced out over a number of rounds and if you take new actions or are interrupted they won't all get done.As Ka'lion begins to study the tracks both he and Vadania notice movement - peering over the brush the lizardmen can be seen returning with the mule, likely intending to find it's owner. There are three lizardmen in all and one carries a warning horn, though it is hung from its side. They are alert but not alarmed.

Ka'lion will stand in the middle of the road with his weapons put away. His pet seems to be okay. But he wishes that the mask would come off.

Ka'lion will stand in the middle of the road with his weapons put away. To be clear, you want to stand up infront of the lizardman patrol in plain sight?

Ka'lion stands in plain sight. He's not surrendering. If he needs to he can climb down the cliff face if he's attacked. It's possible that the mask belongs to the lizardmen but I don't think it does.

Vadania puts her hand to her face as Ka'lion once again does his best to get himself and possibly the rest of the group killed. She waves to the others to find hiding places, doing the same as she readies her bow for an ambush shot. The one with the alarm bugle will be her primary target.

Darrian jumps into a hiding place that affords him visibility of the patrol and in particular the lizardman with a horn.
If needed, he is prepared to use some of his remaining magical energy to remove that horn from the equation.
Darrian will cast mage hand and pull the horn off the lizrdman if he thinks it feasible and the lizardman looks alerted to their presence, so as to keep them from calling others. I was pretty sure I hadn't cast mage hand yet since the battle with the pigmies... DM, can you confirm?

[/color][/quote] You haven't, but the horn is considered attended. The moment that Ka'lion steps out into view the Lizardmen release the mule and ready their weapons, the lizard with the horn reaching for it but not with great urgency - a single human in an odd mask does not appear to have them in any great panic. If the lizardmen attack Ka'lion turns and runs full speed away from them. If a few Chase after Ka'lion it will allow the party to get behind the lizardmen if they give Chase. Ka'lion's hoping to talk with them. They have a right to know about the undead beneath them. He's hoping they will return his steed for the information. If at least one of them understands common. He should be able to talk to them. "HOLT. STOP. DON'T MOVE. STAY WHERE YOU ARE! YOUR CHILDREN ARE IN DANGER! WE NEED TO TALK! PARLEY!" calls out Ka'lion

You haven't, but the horn is considered attended. What does "considered attended" mean? Does it mean Darrian wouldn't have been able to pull it off him?

I think that is referring to Mage Hand only able to pick up unattended objects, such as a set of keys hanging on a hook. It can't get items that someone is wearing, such as a set of keys on a guards belt.

The two lead lizardmen advance with spears lowered, one barking something to the others - Darrian can't make out what was said but it sounded draconic.
Each warrior carried a shield and short spear, a club or axe at their side, and several javelins. The constructions of the weapons look crude but dangerous enough. Each also wore a rough assemblage of hide and fur - perhaps to keep themselves warm in this weather but certainly sturdy enough to soften the blow of a blade or arrow.
Ka'lions muffled shouts of "halt!" and "stop!" make no obvious impression on the lizards, if they even understand him at all, and as they raise their weapons Ka'lion turns to his right and runs along the valley edge.
One of the warriors growls as the third moves to raise his horn.
Init order : Lizardmen warriors : 14 Darrian : 10 Ka'lion : ?? Aelos : 6 Vadania : ?? Ylva : ??

I keep thinking I have Draconic as a language... but that was on my Rogue. Aelos has the int for it, but I never declared what the bonus language was, and it'd probably be Celestial since he's a cleric. Drat. [dice=20] Initiative
Aelos will also move to take out the one with the horn of very much badness.[rand=27886436733470854607309696122844100739377717833616190846161203387]
