Recognizing the giant as something intent on eating her, Vadania does not hold back. With a cry of "Attack", Vadania sends an arrow at the giant. Ylva follows out the command and lunges forward to take a bit out of the giants leg. Vadania | [dice=20] | +8=20 | [dice=8] | =6 | Ylva | [dice=20] | +6=8 | [dice=8] | +3=9 |

Seeing the giant crash into the clearing, and hearing the Elf cry for an attack, Garrot moves around the giant, looking for an opportunity to flank the creature. As Garrot is not quite three feet tall, he realizes that his daggers will never come close to the looming monster's upper body. Instead he decides to flank the creature, and strike at its hamstrings and/or ankles.
Garrot will:
Attempt to move silently to a position of advantage (Flank/rear strike) [dice=20] +13 for a total of 22 [not sure if the racial bonus of +2 is already factored in as well as being small +4, it may not be]

Attack #2: [dice=20] +3 melee "to hit" Total: 16

Ylva charges towards the giant, leaping to attack but her teeth and claws prove useless against the giants tough hide.
As the giant turns to swat away the wolf however it exposes itself to Vadanias arrows, a solid hit draws a dark blackish blood from it's hide but does not cut nearly deep enough to fell it.
Behind them Garrot quickly runs into position to strike at the giants vitals while it is distracted.

(Garrot - a character can only make a single attack when charging, and must flank or catch an opponent flatfooted for sneak attack damage. As you can only charge in a straight line i'll split Garrots actions into two rounds - first to flank the giant and next round to attack - unless you would prefer to act differently)

"Spread out and run like hell!" demands Ka'lion as he shifts form into a wolf then darts 60 feet to the side returns to human form and fires with his bow. Hoping that every one else spreads out. He also knows none of them are strong enough to fight any giant in a melee fight. One good hit can kill any of them! The only way to fight a giant is at range. [dice=20]+3 to hit = [dice=8] to damage x 3 on crit.=[rand=113513926044106485968473481480032932853072183206733684164262376726]

Vadania catches Ka'lion shouting "run like hell!" and looks over to see him flee. Looking back to the melee her shouted warning to Ylva is too late as the giants wings his huge club in an overhead strike - Ylva reels away but stays in the fight (17 damage) as the giants attention suddenly shifts to his flank - Garrot sinking his daggers into the creatures legs.
Some distance away Ka'lion stops amongst the cover of the trees and loses an arrow, but the shot goes wide - the giant seems to be cloaked in gloom that helps hide its exact position and a swirling melee is no place to be firing arrows without a clear target.

I'm confused, Vadania was firing an arrow (the attack she's most proficient with), leaving the melee fighting to Ylva and Garrot.

If shifting takes two rounds Ka'lion would of run x4 to to the side as a barbarian so would be 160 feet to the side. He would still fire the next round. A bad shot is still a bad shot.

Vadania charges towards the giant, catching it off balance as it is forced to slow and swing it's club earlier than expected. The blow draws a dark blackish blood from it's hide but does not cut nearly deep enough to fell it. The giant spins around to follow the elf as Ylva leaps to attack but her teeth and claws prove useless against the giants tough hide. I need to understand two weapon fighting feat better for rogue. I assumed he would attack with both weapons. I will research it. Thanks!

Stick to missile fire at this time. Our captain just got hit once and lost half her hit points. We should be running not fighting it at close range. Ka'lion has more hit points then anyone else and he couldn't take two 17 hit's of damage.

Still Vadania and Ylvas action next.

Can Vadania see the giant well enough to get a clear shot with her bow?

Vadania is in a melee fight with the giant - ( Arrow the green arrow show proves it can be done but I've never seen anyone use it in the game.)

I've another character in a different game (not D&D) that uses a bow in melee fights. But that character is a Master Archer. Vadania is better at archery than with a sword, but is still far from being a master.Things were getting too crowded, so Vadania dropped her bow and drew her wooden sword. She then did a dance with Ylva, where Ylva shifted to give her flanking, then she shifted to leave the flanking position open for Garrot. She calls out to Ka'lion, " Get back over here, we need numbers to bring him down, not scatter and get killed one by one." Vadania | [dice=20] | +2+2+?=12+? | [dice=8] | =6+? | Ylva | [dice=20] | +6=20 | [dice=8] | +3=11 | Ylva Trip | [dice=20] | +2=14 |
I forget the bonuses for the Magic sword, if we ever figured them out. That's what the ? above is.[rand=36695879255421462152917424682527877878673700615767655441083479673]

OOC: And if all had run in different directions as Ka'lion suggested, Vadania would be fighting it alone since she's the slowest and easiest to catch. Divide and conquer is a great strategy, but I'd rather the monsters do the dividing and we do the conquering....
But it's fine for Ka'lion to have his own opinion of how things should go, perhaps based on an assumption that everyone can outrun monsters as he can.

The creatures hide is too tough for the wooden sword to make much of an impression, but Ylva finally manages to sink her teeth into the giants ankles while it is distracted.
Kicking Garrot away the giant spins to attack the halfling but finds his target too small and nimble to catch and, howling in frustration, he throws his club aside and grabs at his assailants with evil-looking talons.
Unable to get a clear shot Ka'lion throws down his bow and runs back towards the Giant with axe in hand.
[Tag Vadania, Ylva & Garrot - Ka'lions attack will kick off next round as he made a full run move away previously]

Garrot continues to harass the giant, rolling and evading as best he can while trying to strike the back of the giant's legs. He hopes that he can hamstring the creature and limit its ability to maneuver.
Garrot waits for the Giant to be distracted by the axe wielding human, and then will strike it again in the back of its legs.

The druid can discord her armor if she wants to move faster - that said the new party member is the slowest right now. Divide and shot from range while the giants try's to kill one of us. Damage wise in most cases we do more damage at range without getting hurt. Ka'lion will heal you if your still alive and in a coma or not.

Removing armor would let her run faster but also let get hit more often. It's a trade off. Ka'lion runs away, Vadania uses armor so she can survive in a fight.Vadania and Ylva continued their dance around the giant, each getting flanking, then shifting so Garrot could also get flanking. Vadania hopes her wooden sword does better this time, otherwise she'll have to try spells. Vadania | [dice=20] | +2+2+?=8+? | [dice=8] | =6+? | Ylva | [dice=20] | +6=crit | [dice=6] | +3=9 | Ylva Trip | [dice=20] | +2=18 |
I forget the bonuses for the Magic sword, if we ever figured them out. That's what the ? above is. Vadania's not doing so well, but Ylva's doing great [rand=16998091991990805549444713164120963804926932789390642926397267729]

The creature flails in all directions, Vadanias shield catching a blow from it's claw but leaving her unharmed.
It proves far too big and strong for Ylva to bring down but dark blood now runs freely down its legs from many wounds, despite it's troll-like appearance it seems to lack its larger cousins regenerative capabilities.
Garrot continues to duck and dive around the creature when suddenly he finds himself lifted from the ground, a talon caught on the strap of his backpack. Struggling frantically he manages to slip free as the creature seeks to eat him whole but a lunging bite leaves deep cuts down his arm has he stabs and pushes at the creature to escape (8 damage)
[tag all - Ka'lion may charge this turn]
