Greetings all. I am attaching a .pdf of my character sheet. Vetch is a level 4 Half-Orc Ranger. Vetch was born as the result of a raid by orcs on a small village in the Elkridge area. As a result of the nature of his birth, Vetch was not accepted by the villagers, and when he was old enough to survive on his own, he was cast out a a pariah. His mother continued to care for him, but she was eventually forced from her village for continuing to give aid and comfort to her son. The two made a home for themselves in the Ridge Woods. Vetch learned early of the ways of the woods, and made every effort in those early days to stay clear of the elves of the Ridge Woods, who shunned him (and worse if they could catch him he believed) and the shifters. He and his mother would hunt and raise such crops as they could in the woodlands, and his mother would take their products to Moonhaven for sale.
On one of this trips, Vetch's mother was killed, and Vetch's first step into adulthood was tracking down the creatures responsible. From that day forward, Vetch was essentially alone and forced to fend for himself. He became determined to need no other and only to depend on himself as he grew older and more in tune with the wilderness of his environs.
As he grew into adulthood, he became more and more familiar with the surrounding Ridge Woods, and continued to avoid most of the organized communities in the woods. However, Vetch would occasionally hire himself out to travelers and adventurers as a guide. He became "known" in the Moonhaven area, though his reputation wasn't in all respects "good". As part of his guiding and work in the forests and caverns of the Moonhaven area, Vetch developed a "nose" for treasure, and found he had a knack of discovering things, noticing things, and seeing things others didn't always see. He also was practiced at staying quiet and not being seen when it was opportune to do so. He believes that his abilities are due to his upbringing, and that he hasn't been softened by living "civilized" as he calls it.
Vetch carries a grudge against those who cast him out and made him what he is. He is suspicious of those who would act friendly two him, and his trust is not easily earned.
Vetch wields 2 bastard swords, and wears Hide armor that enables him to "hide" very well. He also has boots that help him move stealthily. He is well prepared for adventures in the wilderness, and has some experience in dungeoneering as well.
Vetch's predisposition to solitary life in the woods sometimes makes for poor company, which isn't helped by his half-orc looks. As such he is stand-offish and quick to take offense. However, he takes his work seriously, and cares deeply for the forest and wilderness of the Ridge Woods, which has become his home.
