Oris was seeking a band of Gnolls that had been raiding travelers, and as often as not killing them as well. He realized that he couldn't take them all on himself, but if he could find where their camp was, he could harass them whenever they left in small numbers.
Oris felt that he was getting close when he felt a faint vibration in the ground. Putting his ear to the ground he heard sounds that reminded him of a powerful dwarven mechanism he had experienced in a prior life.
The sound only lasted half a minute, but it gave Oris a direction to go. Approaching stealthily, Oris saw a door in a cliff, with two dead Gnolls nearby. While he watched some... thing came down the stairs dragging two more apparently dead gnolls.
At first the sight of the construct puzzled Oris, but then memories of life he lived long ago informed him that this construct of steel plated stone was a Warforged, a constructed solder from an empire long vanished.
Tag Oris. I hope I haven't taken too many liberties with your character in explaining why he is there. The rest is just history rolls with past lives as flavor.
This should be interesting. Oris is the only character that can remember when Warforged were in use, which is a LONG time ago! Of course those memories aren't as clear as Harknail's (he doesn't have as many newer memories overlaying them), but it could still be very handy to the groups quest because Oris might remember something that Harknail never knew (hew was pretty new when he got buried for millennia).

He also sees a elf helping him with the bodies.
"Thanks my friend we could not have made it out of that without you. We need a next plan of attack cause if they find the bodies out here they may come in force, we need to rest before that time comes."
Zem has yellow hair, and does not carry a bow. He is also in armor but not as heavy but still durable. and he has a symbol of some kind in his other hand.

Oris watches them for a time, making sure that they are not working for the gnolls. As he watches them hide the bodies, he comes to the realization that they were the ones that killed them. He approaches them slowly, calling out, "Hello friends. are you perhaps the ones that set off the Dwarven machinery below?"

"Ya cause we look like dwarfs to you do we? I'M an elf why in the world would they let an elf touch dwarven made anything? I am sorry I'm reacting like this but you question is rather well non nonsensical at the moment. you may not know history rather well so while your here i can give you some insight. Dwarfs and Elfs don't get along and we rather hate each other, but with my pointed ears you assumed it was us to set off this so call contraption. This is also why your question is rather wrong. You think dwarfs are here, cause who ever gave u directions to them your looking in the wrong place.

Hearing the voices outside Barbatos returns to the doorway, remaining in the shadows until it is determined to be friend or foe that they face.

"No, you don't look like dwarfs do you. Well it is a good thing that i am not looking for dwarfs. I am looking for some gnolls as a mater a fact. They are killing innocent people and i could not allow that to stand. Have you seen any others besides those."

Harknail answered, "Aye, there be the ones that attacked us as we traveled. They be dead also. Methinks there be more inside, but my companions weary of battle and must rest."

"Then rest my friends, and when you are ready, we shall deal with the rest should there be more. But while we wait, may i ask a question of you, warforge?"

Harknail answers, "I be forged long ago. My first assignment be to clear a Wizards Tower. While my squad be underground the tunnels collapsed, trapping us there. My squad perished, I prayed until I be released by a boat breaking an entrance to the chamber where I had been trapped. What had been a tower near the coast be now rocks in the bay. I be helping since, looking for battles worthy of Kord."

Hearing the conversation with the stranger. Vetch comes up behind Barbatos and likewise stays in the shadow, listening. Not everyone reacts pleasantly to a half-orc, so he decides to let the elf and the construct continue the conversation as he sizes up the new arrival.

Oris nods once, "Ah, that explains it. Thank you." Oris stands perfectly still as he watches everything toward the door in the cliff.

Barbatos packs the potion away carefully while continuing to listen, and nods towards Vetch to keep an eye on the trapped room lest more Gnolls come to investigate.

Oris looks at the warforge, seeing him as not a threat and the most friendly, "There are two beings hiding in the cave you just came out of. I don't believe that they are gnolls but i thought that you should know. Do you have any idea who or what they are?"

Although he has had very little exposure to flesh and blood humanoids, Harknail has had a long time to ponder all of his interactions and develop some insight. And this insight tells him that the strange colored humanoid was not a threat to him or his friends. So he answered, "That be Barbatos and Vetch, our wizard and ranger."

Again Oris nods, "Gnolls are hard things to kill in their own area. It makes sense that there are more." He calls louder to those hiding, "You may come out and rest. I mean none but the gnolls any harm right now."

Vetch looks at Barbatos and then moves out of the stairwell towards the others. He nods to the stranger and says "greetings. If we are going to get to know one another, I suggest we find a place to rest that isn't at the front door of the gnolls we just killed. Let's find a safe spot to rest, and then we can talk further. What say you Zem?"
