Barbatos sees to the horse, ensuring it is fed but unsure if it should be kept inside the cave, "Vetch, does the cave look big enough for the horse?"
Placing the cart across the entrance would provide a solid enough defensive barricade, though he hoped it would not be needed.

Vetch looks at the bear scat, and then at the horse. "Big enough for a bear, big enough for a horse. Bring it in and use the cart to narrow the entrance."
Vetch will make a fire, prepare provisions etc and then bed down once everyone is fed. He will offer to relieve Harknail on watch as well.

"That's not comforting Vetch", a bear as big as a horse was the last thing Barbatos wanted to see tonight.
After tending to the horse he led it inside, using a light spell to illuminate the far reaches cave lest there were any hidden cracks or crevices that some creature had made it's home.
It was still light out and the fight had required little exertion. Recovering his books Barbatos resumed his attempts to make some sense of the draconic magic contained within while keeping half an eye on the newcomer, though he seemed safe enough and no stranger than most he had met since coming to the land.

Oris nodds to himself, thinking of the ways they all thought to fortify this simple cave for the night. He then beds down for the nigh.

Vetch chuckles at the wizard. "The scat is old, don't expect we will see it tonight."
He continues cooking/preparing for rest and then says "I could be wrong of course.".

(( Just wondering if the group wanted to do a time skip. Unless others still wish to keep interaction going, i am fine with both but if people were wanting to get the next thing I am fine with that too.))

The cave is large enough for horse cart, and the party with room to spare. While there is unpleasant material in the cave, it is old and dried and thus the smell is easily bearable. Harknail positions himself to watch the entrance as he rests while the others get some sleep. With no fire the night is cool, but not as cool as sleeping in the open without a fire would be. The cave starts out cool, but doesn't cool down much at night.

Vetch looks around and nods to Zem, saying quietly "I will go and scout. I will report back as quickly as I can determine who or what this is."
Vetch secures his gear, ties down anything that might make a noise, and quietly moves out to investigate. He will use all of his abilities to blend with the terrain. He will attempt to find a high point from which to view the approaching lights. He thinks to himself that whomever is approaching certainly isn't concerned about stealth.

Guys I had trouble with the new die feature. I rolled a four, but when I went to edit the post, it re-rolled as a 15. 4 was my original roll, with 12 added making it 16. Sorry, I wan't to be completely candid as I don't want anyone to think I am messing with die rolls.

Guys I had trouble with the new die feature. I rolled a four, but when I went to edit the post, it re-rolled as a 15. The new dice system may be a little wobbly. Unfortunately it's not as easy to alter as the old one (it's a plugin rather than a script). Seemed to hold the value when I used it, but expect a few odd behaviours. 1-20�1-20IjGwBNAt

Barbatos moves quietly to a defensive position behind the wheels of the cart and waits, his eyesight not as good as the others in these conditions.

Even before Vetch leaves the cave he can make out that there are two female gnolls carrying torches. An experienced tracker himself, Vetch can tell that they are tracking the groups path (though not nearly as fast as the group was moving). Currently they are about 100 ft away (20 squares). They do not seem to have noticed the group yet, and may not have even seen the cave yet. But Vetch estimates that they will reach the cave in less than a minute.
The area around the gnolls is brightly lit by the torches, the cave is in darkness (the group feeling there way around to the entrance), otherwise the land is dimly lit by the crescent moon.
Simliar to the gnoll entrance, there are a few scattered trees in an otherwise open area.

Vetch, seeing the trackers, quickly and quietly returns to the cave entrance and advises the group of the two gnolls approaching. He says "two gnoll trackers approaching, they will be here in less than a minute. They haven't seen me and don't seem to know the cave is here, but they are likely to see it shortly."
He looks to Zem and says "Shall we go out to meet them, try and surprise them by rushing from the cave, or perhaps push the cart out on top of them to try and catch them off guard?"

"I have a bit of an odd strategy but it may work. We make a kill box and yes we will use the cart but in another way. Harknail does not give off heat nor can they smell him and they can't see or hear you. So him and you stay in the cart and pop out when they get in the killbox. Master wizard will block behind them with ice spells, and get behind them to push them back into the 2 of you, and support me outside if need be if they try and run for it before they get to the box. This will cut off any retreat. my job is going to be the bait and draw them into the Kill box. You saw how they likes aiming for me at times, we will use this against them. Oris like I promised no orders so you don't have to do what i'm about to ask and can do your own thing if you wish. It is just a minor request if you wish to take it cool if not this can still work. We could use a sniper well placed just in case they have more and don't take me as bait. They have lit me up like a Christmas tree before and rather avoid it this time. Yet if they do I have enough healing to out last them. does anyone see an issue with any of this cause they will be here any second"
(( second option we pile in the cart and do some drive buys and firing off spells and the like and chase them down if they run. ))
