Has anyone ever played the D20 version of Star Wars? I recently got the core book for 10$ at my local Coles but I haven't played it or looked that much into it. So if anyone has played it, is it any good?

SWRPG was my first RPG, back in 6th grade. 'Course, that was way back in the days of 2nd edition with West End Games running the show.
Thrawn and I got the 3.0 SWRPG handbook, and I feel confident that we could run the game pretty easily. It doesn't have anything on AoO's, but that's really easy to houserule.
The only problem we had was that SW doesn't seem like it can be pigeonholed into classes. Balance wise, it's fine---though I'm not sure if the bag of rats combo is still in there.

I also played the older, D6 pool version. Long time ago in my foolish youth. D20 always looked cool, but of my nerd-pack, I'm considered the 'alpha' so it's hard to convince them to play.  |

What can I say.
I hope that your copy is revised, not the orginal edition. Original edition of the d20 was horrible, all kinds of bugs in the system, and ghosts in the machine. But seriously, find the D6; that system was the R0XX0R.

I've played the d20 Star Wars. Haven't played the old d6 version. I enjoyed d20 quite a bit - though there are some little questionable mechanics points that crop up. Star Wars is, quite simply, different from d&d. Largely because of the Vitality system - Which, however, I really, really like.
I liked it. It's ultimately up to personal preference, though.

Well it seems from the responses that star wars is an alright game. Anyone feel like running one? With Kman permission of course. I would but I am not at all familiar enough with the system yet.
