Lynette shushes Vadania and glances around, replying in a whisper, "it was passed down though my family. It was supposed to be my brothers but he's a worthless layabout and he'll not miss it, and he's not got the gift like I have."
She pulls out a knife, hiding it under her cloak, and runs a finger along it's blade. Vadania is surprised to see a cold frost build up across the metal.

Vadania replies in a whisper, "Impressive, perhaps you can teach us how to make use of our cloaks."
In a normal voice Vadania says,"Let's introduce you to the rest of the group." She pats Ylva as she says, "This is Ylva, my oldest friend and companion. Let her sniff you so she'll know you're a friend."

Ka'lion i dont feel comfortable in taking the rest of the towns healing scrolls, i am inclinded to think we have enough as it is. How ever me learning to create scrolls is practical.

"My grandma always said Creating scrolls is cheap but it takes time. If they need the scrolls and potions they have. They can keep them. But we still need scrolls, potions and horses. Well hopefully the wizard our captain gets has the abilities we need. If not they can learn them and if they have scrolls of their own. That would help. Altor has scrolls he has already agreed to sell us and the old lion is paying for them. But that does not tell us how many he'll sell us. That's entirely up to him. Unlike the old lion I never assume anyone else's property is mine. So we don't need to be entirely without scrolls. Our big problem is the lack of horses. Without horses it will take us at least 3 weeks to get to the town and if the villagers are starving we saw what just a few days of lack of food and water can do to them. So we are going to need to move at a run most of the way. Garrot will ride with who ever slowest. At least until we can get enough horses for everyone. What we could really use is a guide but I really doubt we could afford them." said Ka'lion, "At least we know where we are going. But a good guide might of known a faster route."

I agree with eveything you have said, too bad i sold mine.
A new companion will not get the way we work.
I hope i have earned your trust, its why i told altar to stand down, but if it came to a fight i know what side im on.
I hoped the old man would help not hinder i was wrong .
now i get why you did not show him or ask him.
I cant always be right about others.

If i may ask your reason for garrot to be with the slowest if he cant get places fast, should he not ride with you or me?
our captian has a bow so long range, wolf is her back up. So them in the back sounds ok
I have most armor so me up in frount you right behind to give orders if need be
New person i cant say til i see how they act.
Does that formation work or does it need working on?
our new companion i have no idea what they do, but depeing what they are is key to finding out. It would at least be would be helpfull to us

Lynette leans down towards Ylva, "there's a nice, uh, wolf?"Finding no-one else suitable Vadania and Lynette return to the group as Altar finishes up, leaving the scrolls that he had previously been given and carefully sealing the case with the rubbings against the elements, firing Ka'lion one final look before carrying the case back towards the keep. Garrot recognises the newcomer from the inn, wondering how the party had gotten itself from a lightning bolt throwing mage to an excitable bard. At least she could sing and perhaps lighten the mood after recent events, though he had the distinct impression that bridges here had been burned despite the groups earlier actions. (Lynette added to the character status/items pages unless other members of the group want to turn her away)" Unlike the old lion I never assume anyone else's property is mine. Ka'lion's nose grows visibly longer as he speaks.

I agree with eveything you have said, too bad i sold mine. It's nice that someone is beginning to understand me.My only question is a new companion will not get the way we work. We wont know until we have giving them a chance. Even Altor was helpful. He just stopped thinking clearly. His heart got ahead of his reason. It wassen't that I didn't agree with him in princeable. Because I do but that he was just to pushy and until I'm ready I resent being pushed into anything.
I hope i have earned your trust, its why i told altar to stand down, but if it came to a fight i know what side im on. Mine? Or your own? But in anycase. I think we are begining to get along better.I hoped the old man would help not hinder i was wrong . I I'm sorry to. Mostly I'm sorry that a lot of inacent people will die but I'm not going to race anyone that has more then a month head start. I'm fast but I'm nowhere near that fast.now i get why you did not show him or ask him. The old lion, Like all old lions wants things done their way. But your right. I was sure he'd respond poorly. I was pretty sure that he'd ether try to seize my book or try to kill me for it. I really didn't want to have to kill the old man. It became very clear to me when he claimed I was the books custodein and didn't own it. What was clear to me was he was feeling desperite. Thats noway to keep a clear head. So I'm charging him for the horses, the scrolls and the potions we need. Nothing about my agreement with Altor requires that we get them here.
I cant always be right about others. I know of few people that are always rightIf i may ask your reason for garrot to be with the slowest if he cant get places fast, should he not ride with you or me? I was going to walk or run and race my horse in wolf form and let two riders ride my horse some of the time. Mostly I need my horse to carry my supplies. Runaway is much stronger then I am. But when I need to sleep. I can learn to sleep while riding. I think that well be the second trick I teach him. The first was to come when called. That way I wont need to go looking for him.our captian has a bow so long range, wolf is her back up. So them in the back sounds ok She's our captian. It's up to her where we are in formation but most of the time I act as our parties scout because I can move quickly where needed. But it really is up to her. But personally, I'd put the wizard in the middle of the party and Garrot on my horse and you next to the wizard. Why it allows you to get to the injured quickly and you can act as a sheild for our wizard. But all that is up to the captain. I have most armor so me up in frount you right behind to give orders if need be New person i cant say til i see how they act. Does that formation work or does it need working on? our new companion i have no idea what they do, but depeing what they are is key to finding out. It would at least be would be helpfull to us I'm exspecting them to be poorly skilled and poorly armored my self. I know few wizards that have learned to fight. In my family it's common but most wizards live in libraries most of their lives.

"Altor! You seem to of forgotten something. Those scrolls are yours. And I don't think the old Lion even knows about my charges yet. Does he? As the town has no horses for sell we are going to need enough gold to get them, scrolls and potions elsewhere." says Ka'lion picking up Altor's scrolls and giving them back to him. "You clearly misinterpreted my conversation with George. You have scrolls that you can sell to us. No one is saying you have to sell us anything. But I am charging the old lion for the copies. The don't belong to you yet."

Altar looks back but does not reach out for the scrolls, "Eldon has no wealth, and would have no taste for your extortion. Take the scrolls and trade them for what you need. Elsewhere."
He turns and continues on his way.

"I'm sorry Altor. This was never intended to be extortion. It was intended to be trade. Simple barter and that was all it was ever intended to be. I charged a high price. Perhaps it was to high. Good luck Altor." said Ka'lion, "Let's head out."

Coming up to the group with the new member in tow, Vadania catches the rest of the exchange. "I'm glad you finally realized that you were extorting the people who should have been our allies. I feared that you were as bad as that mercenary in town who sees those in need as only a source of cash because they are desperate."
She turns to Altair and says, "I apologize for Ka'lion's actions. They were inexcusably antagonistic. I hope we can meet again on better terms."
Turning back to the group she introduces the new comer, "This is Lynette. She's the closest I could find to a wizard. She says she can cast cantrips, but perhaps more valuable, I think she knows how to use the power of these cloaks. Lynette, I think you already know Garrot. The furry one is George, a cleric. And the one with the glowing book is Ka'lion. He's chaotic crazy but usually means well."

Garrot will refill his arrows, tighten and cinch his armor up, and wait for the party to leave. He has grave misgivings of continuing with this group, but for the nonce has decided to tag along to see where things lead. He nods to the newcomer and says "welcome lady, perhaps your skills will help our group. I am glad you are with us." He bows to her, and moves aside, putting his mask on, and holding his spear.

Lynette takes a look across the group and then asks, "so ... what are we doing? Hunting for treasure right? Or, I mean, something like that?"

"I'm not chaotic crazy. Just a bit to angry right now to be dealing with bullies in good faith. So do you have a spellbook or are you a bard or sorcerer? asked Ka'lion, "And do you know where we can go to get useful potions and scrolls and more horses. It seems Garrot was unable to find any. And without them. There is a good chance we will be far to late to help anyone that needs us."

Vadania answered, "I thought I told you before you joined. We're working to oppose a group of demons that are taking over the fell, and perhaps the entire world! There may be some treasure along the way, since we still need to collect the tools to fight the demons, but we're not treasure hunters as such."
After thinking about it a moment, "Well maybe Ka'lion is a treasure hunter, he seems primarily interested in money."
OOC: Did we get arrows?

GM, how long did it take us to get to Burr town from the siege? I vaguely recall it being about 3 days or so.

Vadania, "It seems to me that you're the biggest bully in the area Ka'lion, extorting those who are trying to save the land. But in any case we can get back as quickly as we got here, perhaps faster if we travel by day. Looking for horses would just slow us down, and riding horses without training would be no faster than walking."

"Big damn heroes then, ok that's ok."
Lynette seems confused by Ka'lions initial words but when he mentions a spellbook she pulls out a tatty looking notebook, "I have this that I put notes into when I have a thought about magic. It's not like the one Melwyn has though, he'd never let me read it."
She thinks to herself, "I'm not a bard, I mean I can sing and stuff but i'm not very good with a lute. So I guess sorceress? Melwyn always said he was the mage and I was the apprentice, nothing about sorcerers." She puts her notebook away, "but he had scrolls, and potions. Not as many as Vassily. He does make other things though, like these boots" she points down. "Sells them at the markets."
"All those horses went out with the others though, before the siege. Though..." she points at Runaway, "that one looks kind of familiar"
(lots of arrows were available. I'd have to check back through the logs for the travel time.)

"We don't hunt for treasure. I'd say we are on more of a quest then anything else. To avenge a number of murdered people. It doesn't pay very well. But you can live with yourself in the morning. Right now we have two goals. To hunt down an assassin wizard that murdered men, women and children in a small village and to rescue victims of the demon's attacks. But we don't know where the assassin is so we will focus on doing the things we can do. First we well need horses because without them we can't get where we are going fast enough to be of much use.
And caption, This all started when I came to Clearwater to buy sweatwater to heal the land so you need to watch your tongue. Nothing I have ever done is about money. It has always been to make this world a little better then I found it.
Runaway came from the bridge. We think the bandets we found there killed everyone that lived there. I'm sorry if they where your freinds.
Where's Melwyn? Does he live nearby?” asks Ka'lion
