This is George's character had to use ka"lions again.

First george feel like he is being dragged around with not full information,

the goblins attacking with bears for example,


the shaman turning undead when he died and cased a lot of things to happen.

my point in short is George does not have enough information to agree to any direction at this point and is not leaving until you tell him everything and im not going to have him dragged along anymore.

To him the book info was a bust and waste of time for the fact it only told us about a sword you already found

and to get it also means facing things you already had to run away from once.

going into dark hole is bad idea not getting out fast gets us killed and for an object we don't know what it does could just be another book.




Going to face goblins on full grown bears is a suicide run yet no one has told him that in game so he does not know that,

nor does he know that a month and a few weeks has passed with them having limited food

as i understand that was when you meet them before the time laps. He does not know that if he had he would think bBy now they should not have any food and have been over ridden,

no army or city can go that long with lack/no food to weak to fight back,

a fact i did know and should have. Given that He would never agree to go do so, nor convinced otherwise we are back to square one.

i get i was not with the party for most of these but i need to make informed calls, to do so He needs to be told everything and not in pages of text because it makes me miss key info.

He needs the minor details because right now they matter a lot in what he would decide to do now, with out them he could let the party do something rash and that is not good. I am not

asking for a page of text but key info to him is missing




About the companion:


Lets go with a monk, its the best of all what people want, no armor, can climb, has speed, can get out of places, can tank, can do damage. all in all a good option.

regardless where we go next.

I want ka'lion in the party so any option that means him not coming or sticking it out is not something I would agree to.

Dozens of goblins in the immediate area with the suggestion of low hundreds scattered across a much wider area (miles of open and forested hills and caves)

Breaking the siege would be as simple as eliminating the nearby garrison, roaming patrols, and ultimately killing the goblin shaman(s) in charge of the area. Retaking the monastery is the more difficult task.


There are only a couple of NPCs in Burr Town, and you don't need to take one. I'll add them once the party actually decides what it's doing.
A little bit of choice paralysis here I think


As for George/Garrot getting information - have the character sit down in game and ask another character to explain.

"A monk is a good choice for a companion if we can find one." said Ka'lion, "My issues with saving the town is the town was being starved out by goblins riding bears. I don't know about you but I wouldn't stand a chance against a bear. Fighting one bear by it's self maybe. With goblin support not a chance. Now limited food - they may be okay on that one. They have a fast river for fish and I showed the children how to forage for editable plaints and bugs so they wouldn't starve and told them to take the food to a priest. So everyone gets fed but it would still be rationed a great deal. With detect poison and purify food and drink. They may be all right. But while we where there it was clear to me at least that the people and animals didn't need to starve. They could eat the animals they had.

All that said helping break the goblins is the right thing to do. But I have no confidence we'd survive it. None! So here is my offer. We save the survivors if there are any and then we head into the fell to talk to the barbarians families left behind to find out what they know.

After word we return to the mines to fight the skeletons while searching for the golden sword. At that point we assess our options and disappear from the demons radar for as long as we need to get skilled enough to destroy them. To do that, I think we are going to need to turn them into stone or paint them with green slime. Either option works for me."

I need to know why the sword was not taken by you if you were in the spot it was all along and what you found in the hole that prevented you from getting it." I need to know how the shawman died, Who led the barbarions in the attack, The way i know you don't know at this time. That covers the main part of what i am missing at this time."

Loss of time appears to have been a side effect of releasing the demon, perhaps the last of the magic that contained it.

The sword was not taken because it was carried by one skeleton in a massive horde, and the group decided to run away.

The shaman led the barbarians in the attack and died standing over the portal when the demon escaped.

I mentioned the Tank idea mainly because our DM in a not so subtle way told us we were getting our asses kicked without one. Whatever you guys want to do is fine. Garrot is pretty care-free and hasn't really tried to involve himself deeply in the "story". He is more of a free spirit moving from event to event, occasionally commenting if something takes his interest.

You don't need a tank so much as often seem to be using Ka'lion (with his low armour class) or one of you casters to to beat on enemies, and then do relatively little damage so they have a lot of time to fight back.
Garrot's sneak attack damage has helped out somewhat by shortening the combats here, and George's extra healing helps you last things out.

So don't feel constrained to take any one type of NPC (and you can only pick from those here anyway - finding a more specific type would be a mini-quest to seek them out, such as travelling to the cottage of a known mage up in the hills)

Potentially allies have to be discovered through the game thread - some will be eager to join, some not so much, and some harder to find than others.

Of course most of the townsfolk are just lv0 commoners with a few low level experts and warriors thrown in, and the occasional thief, scout, or adept. I'll mention something though if the group tries to take on (unless you intentionally hire a hanger on).


The group has burnt a few bridges here. Currently the three standout choices for allied NPC are Lynette the barmaid/swordswoman, the unnamed mercenary, and Melwyn the mage who lives not far from here.
