Look, Korone, I'd appreciate it if you'd remain silent on the reasons for your views on religion. I don't try to convert people on the boards (well, unless they ask me to), and I'd appreciate if you didn't either, if you know what I mean. Jack Chick sucks. Whether Jesus does or does not isn't a topic for these boards. Savez?
Edited. Korone was correct.

I'll remain silent, it was already in my intention. I know when to talk or not.
And, by saying that Jesus doesn't suck, you're appliying the same type of comment as if I would express myself on religion, so, if I stay silent, do the same.
Ehm, by the way, who's Jack Chick?

Jack Chick is the guy who wrote the comic on the first page.

Hi, everyone I have been following this thread and I am becoming a little worried that it could degrade into what happened on the original link. Not to offend anoyne but some things that people say and think are innocent may greatly offend others. Personally I don't have an opinon on the subject but might it be a good idea to let this thread stop where it is? I just don't want everyone mad at each other. That's my two cents.

Thanks to everyone for resolving this quietly and without letting it degrade into something horrible. I appreciate the maturity all of you showed. Thanks.

Sorry guys. Didn't mean to start a debate or offend anyone. "Faith" is of course a much more precise description than religion. Tolerance is something I do try to encourage, and I wasn't attempting to insult Christianity in general. I was giving an example from experience, since I had a preacher in my Pentacostal Holiness church recommend I be exorcised when I first began having my unusual dreams. He also, from that point on, refused to shake my hand, and shunned me within the church. So yeah, I'm an little bitter. But each path of faith is to be your own. You must choose it, and it is your own. Sorry for the confusion.

Don't worry, no debate would come with this subject. Normally it is a subject that I like to debate, but well, for this time, I won't say a word. But you're right, everybody have his/her own path and shouldn't be otherwise. Religion could be placed at the same level as the way we think, if not the same thing. If you're not with your own path in this.. there's a problem I think..

Nobodies mentioned this, so I figured I had to chime in...
I've seen the Chick comic before, and I poked around on the net, and the consensus sapientium (consensus of the wise) is that it's a parody. I've never seen the article, but I pretty sure that's it's a satire as well. Honestly, the Religious Right really hasn't cared about us since the 1980's.
I wouldn't get too worked up over all of this, no sense in flaming anyone over some satire.

Well actually, I did some more poking, which superceeds the poking I did a couple of years back, and I'm now willing to admit to the possibility that the Jack Chick tract is on the level.
But I still don't buy the suicide story. Hoax or satire.
