Background(soldier): There have been few more unlikely soldiers than Shen Nalon. Scrawny and underfed, his chain mail slowing him to a crawl, he does not exactly inspire terror in the enemy.

But less obvious is his iron determination to help his homeland. And if what they need is for someone to swing a sword and risk death, then he'll do it. Obedient to a fault, courteous to all, stoic under the jeers of his fellow soldiers, Shen would be the pride of the kingdom's army---if he weren't, well, Shen.


Personality Type:I'm always polite and respectful.

Ideal: Greater Good: I want to help build society.

Bond: I would still lay down my life for the people I served with.

Flaw: I am uncertain how to deal with moral gray areas. If you need prisoners killed, I'm not your man.

Background Feature: Rank Shen is most likely the commonest of common foot soldiers.

The 5e point buy doesn't allow humans to have a stat over 16, so you need to lower your CHA stat to 16. Other than that, your stats seem a bit low, especially if you didn't take the extra feat and skill option.

I did take the extra feat and skill option---I took the Resilient feat, and selected Charisma. CHA was derived as follows:

15 (9 points)
+1 (one of the two stats bumped with the variant human setup)
+1 (Resilient feat, variant human setup)

Thanks, that explains it. Depending on where your second +1 stat is (12->13 or 14->15), your stats are either 27 or 26 points. So you could spend one more point if you want to, but if you want these stats they are fine.
