Falicrest is a small town built from the ruins of a larger city, it is the crossroads of the Nentir Vale.
Population is 1350 with another 900 or so living in the countryside within a few miles of town. The people are mostly human, halflings, and dwarves. No dragonborn or high elves are permanent residents, but travelers of all races pass through on occasion.
Fallcrest is ruled by the noble Faren Markelhay, the Lord Warden. He is in charge of justice, defense, and laws. He appoints a town council to look after routine commerce and public projects.
The Fallcrest Guard numbers 60 warriors, who also serve as constables. Moonstone Keep is their barracks. The Lord Warden can call up 350 militia at need.
Inns: Nentir In; Silver Unicorn. The Silver Unicorn is pricier and offers better service; the Nentir Inn sees a more interesting clientele.
Taverns: Blue Moon Alehouse; Lucky Gnome Taphouse, Nenter Inn taproom. The Nenter Inn Taproom is where the group first met. The drinks aren't as good as the Blue Moon's, but the prices aren't as high either. Nor is the Nenter Inn anywhere near as seedy as the Lucky Gnome Taphouse. The Nenter In Taproom is a good mix of quality and price.
