So for spells, you have spells per day and spells prepared. Your spells prepared are essentially like a Sorcerer's spells known, except you can change them every day. Druids can choose from their entire spell list when preparing spells. Your spells per day are easy enough, you have X spell slots per spell level.

You can have a number of spells prepared equal to your Druid level + your Wisdom modifier. So right now, that's 3. This is for spells of all levels combined--so at level 3, you could prepare all 2nd level spells if you really wanted, although that's probably a bad idea, for obvious reasons.

Your spells per day are listed on the chart. At level 1, you have two 1st level spells per day.

So as an example, Elir sits down to prepare his spells in the morning. He chooses to prepare Animal Friendship, Entangle, and Fog Cloud. In the first encounter that day, he uses Entangle to tie up some enemies. In the second encounter that day, he decides that tactic worked well, and uses Entangle again. Now he's out of spell slots, and can't cast any more 1st level spells until tomorrow.

Cantrips don't use this system. You have a fixed number of cantrips known that you cannot change, and they can be used at will. At 1st level, you should know 2 cantrips from the Druid list. You'll learn a third cantrip at 4th level, and a fourth cantrip at 10th level.

ok that is how i was thinking how it worked but was unsure ty for braking it down for me ill post spells once i get a chance to look at druid spell lists but saw a few first lv spells that would be fun to take and yes entangle is one of them.

so infact it does pay off to have high wit in first few lvs then, even tho you only get 2 slots.

Yep, Wisdom makes a big difference. It's also used for all your spell attack rolls and save DCs, so you're rolling it constantly.
