Ka'lion plans to dismiss Scar at the lake, summon a water creature while diving on the ship and then dismiss the water creature and then summon anther horse. We may need 2 more to carry anything we find at the lake. Mostly the wolves will need to be far enough away from humans to return to the wild life. And the lake would mean they have plunty of food and water.

Vadania recruited Orns for this specific mission, she isn't going to dismiss him now! Likewise she isn't going to dismiss her oldest and dearest friend just because it's inconvenient.
What she will do is get the tools needed to enlarge the tunnel enough that Orns could fit though with his armor. Also, would the soften spell used to extract the crab artifact be useful for expanding the tunnel?
Once she has the tools, she's ready to go.

The soften earth spell only functions on unworked earth and stone - it'll clear out the dried mud and other debris but it won't affect the chimney itself.
Clearing out the mud may be sufficient though - at least for humans, the huge wolves might be more of a problem.
