No plan survives first contact

Ka'lion and the construct continue to exchange blows, neither able to make much of an impression on the other. Ka'lion believes he will win out in the end but impact of his blows is lessened by the nature of his opponent - were it not for his powerful weapon he would likely make no progress against it at all.

- to speed things along for the other group i've repeated a few of Ka'lions rounds - it takes a little more time but he eventually wears the construct down.

It has given him an opening to push the horse through and make a brake for the exit if that is his plan. He will need to be quick but careful to avoid traps but with a horse he should have no difficulty outrunning any pursuit once through the gateway.


Assuming that is his plan all Ka'lion needs is three spot checks and his intentions for the remainder of the day and the following night.

Ka'lion pushes his horse through the gap and makes a run for the exit with the remaining constructs giving chase. He hears a bolt of some kind strike against a nearby wall as the horse steps on one of the touchplates but he escapes unharmed into the snow.

Ka'lion uses 4 cure minor wounds on himself. The small party tries to get out of the cold.

Ka'lion heads back down towards the ruined village, though only part way - he finds a spot sheltered from the elements along the path and sets up camp as best he can with his limited supplies.

Hours later after the sun has already dipped below the horizon he makes out figures descending from the fortress above. It would seem that the others either reached a dead end or decided to double back.


(the group decided not to follow the tunnel all the way to its destination, just as far as they could while still returning to the surface with enough time to rest the night - back to the main thread with Ka'lion)
