"Probably just an animal, though, right?" says Beth.

Several animals by the look of it, all on the right side but approaching fairly quickly.
Where is everyone relative to the cart and donkey?

Aegis, near the front of the cart, readies his staff and his left hand begins to flow with the bright hot flames of what is obviously magic. "Alright, nothing unusual about several creatures approaching. Permission to open fire on the grass?" Aegis asked, wondering if anyone had a stance on burnt wildlife.

( not sure probably near the front of the cart given he was asked to stop playing so the instrument is stowed away in back of the cart currently. )

I'm not sure how one travels with a donkey-driven cart. Does someone ride the donkey?

You don't ride the donkey itself, you can either ride the cart and direct the donkey with reigns, or you can lead the donkey using a leash. Either way, no particular skill is needed.

Correction, having proficiency with vehicles (land) would help. I'm getting my editions mixed up.

Okay, Beth can be leading the donkey. Shield in one hand, leash in the other.

Having no skill with animals Bishop makes up the numbers on foot - his shield and heavy armour likely most use to the front.

Map (updates as positions change) Here is the map. Kamon-DO is writing in the back of the card, Thrack and Aegis are walking near the front of the cart on either side. Beth is leading the donkey, Bishop is also in front. Mika is bringing up the rear (which happens to give her a good view of Aegis's tail).
Is everyone happy with these positions as where your character would be well traveling through grassland?

Map updated to show location of creatures in the grass. Time to roll initiative (sorry, should have asked for that as part of confirming positions).
Creatures:zNsHw2OYp_1-20 +2 =12 initiative
Mika:p_1-20 +1 = 14
If you roll initiative higher than or equal to the creatures role of 12, go ahead and post your first turn action.1-201-20

Aegis readies his magic, knowing that whatever these are need to get burnt now, rather than later.
