The group withdraw without trouble, the ghost focussed on the fireplace.
Ka'lion guesses the fire itself may be some form of magical eternal flame to have survived whatever turned the building to stone.

Much of the building remains unexplored - on this floor (the middle floor) the one large doorway guarded by the statue and the regular door opposite this one, across on the other side of the staircase.

" agreed but it seamed to just weeken you guys just walking near it next time we will prepare bit better for that. So ill do some buff spells and try to restore that with my new spells as well as speak with dead. I really did not like my plan right now anyway.

I take it the party disengages from the room at this point not at a full sprint but at double move speed.

" It takes a full day for my spells to comeback and ya i agree they dont have that kind of time. Ka'lion i know how your feeling inside right now i said it when we first ened up here. We can try to get out of here now, but if we fuck up all 3 of us are dead and therefor useless to the animals anyway.

I wish i knew more then i do right now but that's all i got.

We can try to find whats still holding it here now but as crippled as you both are as a cleric i would not advise it. as your friend i would and do understand. "

We cant get the animals and cant help them if we are dead. So we might as will vote. Do we search the building? Or sacrifice the animals to save ourselves? Or spend the night hoping to hide somewhere until morning and try again?" says Ka'lion

The party has a little time to play with - unless found by predators the animals should be ok for a couple of days.

"I'm for heading to the floor with the door outside and very carefully checking the rooms nearby. I don't want to exsplore the place so much as find a safe campsite.

As they say feeling bad hurts you twice. Once because your misrable and again because your blaming your self for a really bad day. And I agree with you. It has been a really bad day and I don't think it's going to get better anytime soon. The group return to the entrance and try the first door they come across - to the right of the entrance. The door opens into what appears to be a smoking room with low chairs set around a table. There are two other exits from the room, and both seem to be locked or otherwise jammed shut.

George : " Because when u spend enough time with someone you start to tell thier recations and what thier best at, idea choices, battle calls.
Ka'lion in there just flat out knew i was giving out options in there but knew i was not connfident in them.

When he gave a better one i yelled mine and he knew mostlikly i would when he gave it.

I trused him because i can trust his choices. That is what i wanted with the full group, they did not get that. Had i gave a better one he very well could have taken mine. Its give and take until best option is found. Sometimes u dont have time and u make a gut call.


Ka'lion has always been our best scout there was a time he played bait lead goatmen to rest of us.

At the time u had no clue what the hell he was doing it worked, or the time i was getting my ass kicked by powerful caster and ka'lion wounded as he was got the weapon away from the caster and killed him.

That fight i sucked well all had hard fights.

It took a while but im still not great with weapons as you or him.

But all we can is fight as a team and keep our heads."

"George and I don't think a like so much as work well together. For a simple reason. He trusts me and I can trust him. And I have a feeling your beginning to trust me to. It comes down to this. The larger party tends to argue because they are stuck on a mission. George and I both want to have confidence in our choices and wont be pushed into doing something before we are ready to do something unless we have no choice and I always grumble about that. So does George!

I don't go looking for fights when I think the world is a great deal more interesting without them. Imagine for just a moment you wake up and all the dandelions around you run away to hide. And start playing peck a boo with you. That's the type of adventures I hope to find. Fights all the time only get you killed.

I learn dragons and the fairies languages in hopes that I can find such places. I was hoping this place might be like that. Not all adventurers kill. Some should be fun. I was hoping this place would be fun. So far it hasn't been. But we still might find a sleeping beauty. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Do the party want to camp out in this room (smoking room - table and chairs and two other locked exits) or keep searching?

Stay in a room filled with smoke - in a paler that smells like smoke not really - we'd check out the paler if it's safe to do so. But I think we'd prefer the survents quarters to sleep in.

The room is not filled wth smoke - it's simply a room off the side of the entry hall for relaxation away from the dining rooms, etc.

Everything here is stone, from the curtains on the stone window to the carpet that crumbles underfoot.
The drawers here still work and Ka'lion finds a few household items - even a pipe and tobacco, all stone.

No sign of any traps or hidden places.
