"We can't know what's inside the box unless we open the box and look inside unless we teleport inside. If we teleport then nothing gets in or out - of course the air may get bad but it looks big enough to risk it. Somebody worked very hard to block the outside world out - now they could be long dead or undead or they could be trapped inside. We need fresh air, so do the animals and none of us are going to get that out here. Don’t let yourself become afraid of your own shadow. You will always be running. And yes I’ve been trapped with ghosts before and that didn’t go well at all. I need to take a look around to make sure this not a danger to my family. Some adventurers you choose and sometimes they choose you. Once we know what’s inside we can make a informed choice. I refuse to let myself become afraid of a big stone box! So lets get inside. The air is bad out here. I don’t think it’s going to be any worse inside but it could be better.” said Ka’lion

George just chuckles " You realize if i did not tell you that u would have been mad i did not tell you that info. Boy i missed our adventures together. Well here goes nothing just know this might hurt if we run into anything.
Shamious no time to recite the normal. Cause we got to get you inside.
Shamious: " you know your braking rule #3 right?"
Ya i am but as you know from time to time we brake them with the best intent in mind in this case getting shelter is bit more important. After that we assest next steps.
Casting dimension door on shamious,ka'lion and myself.
He is aiming for the middle of the third story.
If it works there is bright yellow smoke...

The group appears inside a corridor, close to a pair of double doors (on the front direction of the building). There are two more doors - one on either side - and the corridor continues on into the darkness.
It's fairly wide, slightly dusty, and all stone. There is no light save for the ambient light from the groups various magical items and when Ka'lion shines his book around the group can see that the corridor ends with a single door and that there are two more side doors, again one on either side, down the other end.

"Let's meet the vampire. Or other being that does not want to be seen. One note. If we are not attacked. We don't attack it. We are the trustpassers - so we are in the wrong - we came in to look around - not to fight - fights end up killing someone and I'd like to avoid that if we can. Now lets see if we can hear anything."

" When have i ever been the one to start a fight with another being? I always try to talk it out first. Tho i wont blame the owner for protecting thier property but i fully agree fights is how others get hurt or worse. You do know if they do fight they know the lay of the land we dont. "

"Good we are on the same page - lets exsplore - Ka'lion starts by openning the bouble doors from the hall - but wont enter the rooms yet. He's still listenning for sounds in the place. Next if nothing moves he'll open all of the single doors. Then he'll let Goerge choose the rooms we search carefeully firs as in take 20 - we are not in a hurry.

The stone doors scrape on their own hinges and along the ground - it takes some force to move them though they are not locked.
The room beyond is wide, and simply by counting the windows Ka'lion can tell that it stretches the full width of the building. It contains two staircases, one at either end, that turn down into the same room below. A balcony overlooks the stairs.
There is furniture here, but most notable are two roughly humanoid winged statues, one guarding each staircase. They are of a different stone to the building around them, at least in part, suggesting that they are either magical or new. Golems seem likely. They do not respond to the door opening.

"Gargolyes. Most of them are evil from what I hear. But they would make perfect sentries - they don't need food or water or air. I think this is just about to got bloody. I suggest we wait for them to come to us. But I have no idea just how long they are prepared to wait. I'd rather not kill them. George do you know detect evil?" asks Ka'lion, "I'd like to be sure."

They seem oddly passive for Gargoyles, if that is what they are. Perhaps waiting to strike as the corridor provides a natural bottleneck, or perhaps geased or otherwise compelled as guardians.
Ka'lion knows that gargoyles are creatures of the earth and need neither food nor air, and that they are difficult to harm without magic or magical weaponry.

What a minute. Geas could be triggered by the light from any window getting in. But we didn't break anything getting in. Ka'lion draws his dragon two handed sword and loans his green sword to Samious and tries the stairs down.

In a wisper
" if we are going down to fight we need shamious and myself to do a sheild wall formation. It sounds like a bad idea to fight stone monsters but if you really think they will attack i dont see much option."

"We can test it" said Ka'lion as he. sack a speak with animals and summons a wolf then sends the wolf down the stairs.

The gargoyles ignore the wolf until it reaches the threshold of the staircase, then suddenly spring into life to attack both it and the party. As far as an ambush goes it seems poorly executed - they must be under some form of control.
Roll init - the unfortunate wolf counts as surprised this round
