"These goblins are weak, they will not survive on the outside for long. And neither do we, if we don't keep moving; this weather is going to get worse unless we stop it. Let them fight for their lives inside the tower, it is clear that whatever is in there makes no distinctions regarding intruders".
Thursagan is ready to open/bash the door once the group is rested.

Gabe, "That said Harknail, we can't leave Sart out here alone with him. It would be putting her at risk, why don't we just press on with them and if the blue one gives us any grief we can deal with him appropriately."

Sart looks towards whoever is talking whenever she hears her name spoken. But since she doesn't understand common she doesn't know what is being suggested, only that the group is talking about her.
Just a reminder, Sart is a minion with only one hit point. She is very fragile and can very easily be killed. The other prisoner, although already bloodied, is considerably more durable.
As a side note, if Sart does somehow survive this adventure, I'm considering promoting her from minion to companion (I just picked up DMG2). Trying to keep a minion alive might be fun and challenging for a while, but not for long term. A useful companion would be your reward at succeeding at such a difficult task :-) Unless of course the group would rather keep her as a harmless minion...

"That was because my inspiring word was just 1d6 while Zynthis's is 1d6+2. Better chance to do more healing. " Oh no, I already understood why the healing got canceled. I was just explaining why Lairaunwen wasn't thanking you for the healing offer.
"We take the goblins with us. It's safer for Sart that way." Laira Elereth adds. "Thursagan would you mind opening that door for me?", Laira asks as she confidently strides to J16.

Zynthis having a 20 strength himself will assist Thursagan with opening the door. Open Door: [dice=20]+5 str bonus=24 [rand=93197847049833074671005738520869029091199455851597254364480593407]

Seeing that Zynthis and Thursagan are about to break down the door, Sart considers saying something. She doesn't want to offend the party, but she thinks she might actually able to help. Since she has been treated well so far, she decides to speak.
Shaking like a leaf, Sart taps Zynthis and says (in goblin of course) <I might be able to open door without breaking it.> She then braces for Zynthis's reaction...
Reminder, Gabe also speaks Goblin and can understand Sart.

Zynthis: "Wait, Thursagan. Sart knows a way to open the door without busting it down." In goblin, Zynthis says to Sart with a gentle smile "How is that Sart? What is the secret to opening the door?"

Thursagan lowers the hammer and lets the goblin enough space to open the door. He keeps in guard for anything that can come from inside.
"What are our light sources? It may be dark in there and we don't need more surprises"

Before we move on, it just occurred to me that an arcana role might be appropriate for collecting anything valuable off of the guard dogs.Zachary considers what might be salvageable as arcane components from the guard dog constructs. Hope he finds something--hate to waste a 20 like that.[rand=98562304288604223938294663949756864338572094974944777727682213764]

Most characters are carrying 2 Sunrods, it's part of the adventures kit. Expensives, but provide very bright light (20" burst) for a long time (6 hours).

Zynthis: "Wait, Thursagan. Sart knows a way to open the door without busting it down." In goblin, Zynthis says to Sart with a gentle smile "How is that Sart? What is the secret to opening the door?" "Pick lock!" exclaims the little goblin. She then attacks the lock with some improvised lock picking tools. After just a few seconds the lock sparks, which startles Sart but doesn't hurt her. The door is now opened, revealing an entrance hallway (as shown on the map. Anyone trained in Arcana will recognize the spark as the breaking of an Arcane Lock ritual. Inside is just as cold as outside, but at least it's out of the wind and snow. A thin layer of frost covers everything inside, though it is not think enough to make the floor slippery (normal movement inside). The interior of the tower continues the theme of the outside, with devils carved into the interior walls. The eyes of one of these carved devils are glowing brightly, throwing off beams of light that are reflected by the ice and are illuminating the entire entry brightly. There is a second door at the end of the entry way, but it does not appear as sturdy as the exterior door. Sart moves up and checks the second door, but does not open it. She returns outside and says, < It's not locked> to Zynthis and Gabe (the only two who can understand her). The group has a budding thief on their hands :-)

Alas he finds nothing more than scrap iron, nothing he can use to power rituals. He was able to that the cold has not been kind to these constructs. A few parts not made of Iron had been deteriorating when the constructs activated to defend the tower.
