With your mind. The other guy's a sorcerer. He can cause explosions just cause he's that damn hot
There's no backstabbing in 3.5. everyone's constantly spinning.
I miss the days of the backstab and then the counter backstab. Just a line of rogues, one behind the other.

I remember in another game I DMed, another player insisted that he was entitled to backstab damage because he was technically standing behind the other guy based on the way that he thought the other guy should have been facing. He was pretty annoyed about the fact that I wouldn't allow him sneak attack damage because he wasn't meeting any of the 3.5 requirements But once you start to envision people on the battle field spinning around like tops, it really starts to add a whole new degree of flavor to the scene.

There are optional facing rules in Unearthed Arcana, which is OGL, so some people posted them online.

So yeah, we should have another new character worked in soon enough. Who knows, maybe if there's enough of you guys in one place you might look tough . . . maybe. It's funny that both of the tanks are gone. Oh well, you'll have to make friends with some if you want people with hit points around.

My character is built for nothing but sweet, sweet killin'. Of course, he's still a rogue.

Of course, he's still a rogue. ...@%@##@!!@!#@ Freakin' rogues, man. This is like Masked Intentions all over again - except we don't even have someone dipping into ranger. It is gonna suck when Shakes puts us up against, like... a plant-creature. Or a construct. Or undead. God, undead... "Hmm. Stabbing him in the kidneys doesn't appear to be working." "It'd be nice if we had a cleric about now. Or someone with a strength over 13."

Hey, just leave the goth kids hanging out in the cemetary alone and you won't have to fight undead Though I think you guys pretty much set yourselves up for it when you said you wanted to start a "THIEVES'" guild. Should've just said "adventurer's guild" fighters love those. That's probably where Moroth and Carlos went to. And no, you can't take any feats to let you play more characters. Though, you could let me kill your characters so you can make new ones.

Sounds like y'all could use a fighter/cleric type. If you're still looinkg for players...

in all honesty, they don't actually "need" anything speciffic per se.
If they're smart, they'll pick and choose the encounters which they can handle.
There is also plenty of opportunity to make contacts and allies who are clerics and fighters. They just need to make the effort.
I'm not going to throw undead at them or anything like that just cause they're a bunch of rogues, and if I do, then they have the option to be smart about it and run away in search of another solution.
There's more than one way to skin a cat.
So yeah, you don't have to make characters based on what the group looks like they're missing. If someone's interested in playing a fighter, that's one thing, but this isn't the kind of game where people are going to have fun playing characters that they built primarily to fill a role in a group in terms of mechanics.

Oh, but now if we have a dedicated undead-plant fighter, then we'll have to face undead plants!
And nobody wants that!

Well, there's feats out there which allow you to do a little sneak attack damage to plants and undead. So, if you guys are really committed, we can look some up or create some of our own.
But it's all a matter of where you're taking things. If you're going to be spending a lot of time in the great outdoors, it might be something to consider.
I for one am a huge fan of undead plants and intend to throw as many of them as I can into the game.
Keep your eyes peeled and don't trust any friendly houseplants. Those ferns are there for the sole purpose of kicking ass and taking names.

TZS, I'd like to play. What's the starting level? 5? I'm thinking of creating a Paladin of Tyranny who wants to start his own mafia style organization. He's heard of a band of thieves trying to create their own guild. Could this be the beginning of a beautifully evil relationship?

Actually, hold that thought.
Thinking it over, I'm gonna have to close the game for now, or at least for the next few weeks or so.
I think I just got caught up in the swing of things and all of the other campaigns being open to new players and might have jumped the gun on making that call.
My reasoning, -Just want to give TTC and Jolith a little while longer to reappear, -But mostly, I still have two new players, Tembo and MaestroXC who I'm trying to settle into the campaign and I want to make sure that things are going smoothly for them before I start taking on more new characters and introducing them to the group.
But as soon as we're ready, I'll be sure to re-open the game, and if you're still interested, we will definately have a place for you.
So check back in a couple of weeks, also, in the meantime, if you haven't done so already, just take a look at the game and the posts so you can get a good idea of how we go about things and what may be the best type of character to have fun playing in this type of atmosphere.

No problem TZS. I noticed you have maybe 3 mini-games within the IGBE due to the group splitting up. That's a whole lot of game to manage.

I was thinking about possibly re opening up the game to new players. But before I do I just wanted to make sure that it would be alright with the current players. Also, I wanted to try to get an update as to Deekin, TTC, and Jolith's current status in regard to the game. I know Jolith is busy so we likely won't hear from him. Deekin has been busy, but he's around again, so I just want him to know that he's welcome to return to the game if he wants to. The same applies to TTC if he's around and plans to come back to the boards anytime soon. Plus, I wanted to give former players like Yakumo and Lin a chance to pick up their characters and rejoin if they want. I know that people get busy or lose interest in the games, so it's not a huge deal if we have to lose players, which is why I like to keep having new players join, a way of keeping our character pool full. So, if anyone wants to rejoin or formally pull themselves from the game, please give me the word. And for any out there interested in joining a new game, (very fight light and roleplay heavy/character driven at the moment) feel free to read up on the game to get an idea of whether you'd be interested in joining or not so you can be set with some good character ideas when we start accepting new players. that is all

I'd like to re-join the game, but not with Zerik. He's to anti-social/kill focused for this game. The class I'd like to play, idealy, happens to be a third party class called the Morphian. I'd be willing to toss the PDF to you. If you want to stay Pure Wizards of the coast, I have some other ideas.
