A CALL FOR PLAYERS!
I'm trying to get together 4-6 players for a short adventure. This will essentially be an online version of a 1-shot, lasting only a few months. I just want to test the field to see if my DM'ing style is compatible to this site.
Backstory
The small town of Tempest Gorge lies at the base of Bald Mountain, a violent peak whose constant electrical storms and volcanic activity leave it barren of all life. For generations the town enjoyed a truce with a band of stone giants that lived in caves on the mountain. The giants would defend the town from attack, and the town would supply the tribe with food and goods.
Recently, however, a horrible monster has been attacking the town at night, kidnapping some and simply killing others. What's worse, it seems that the creature's home is somewhere on Bald Mountain, and no one has heard from the tribe of stone giants since the attacks began. Unless someone comes to save this quaint mountain community, it seems all will be lost ...
The Party
The PCs will already be acqainted with each other and this will be, in essence, a side-quest for their group.

I might well be interested, though i'm never really sure what to bring to higher level games as all my daft builds kind of suffer Perhaps Tyvek, high magus (because you can't go wrong with a spellcaster)

Though it might sound strange to hear; but, I'm in.
I've been itching for more action of late and find myself wanting to get more involved around here again. I'll get working on a build.

If this game is on, can we corroborate on character builds, or should we show up to the party surprised? I know what I'm thinking for a concept, but that doesn't mean I need to stick with it.

I don't mind you guys working together. In fact, I encourage it. I'll be presenting you with several encounters of CRs equal to or higher than the party level, so a balanced group of PCs who compliment each other is going to be essential.
Be sure to send me your characters via PM when you're done with them, including your bonus language(s). In case it affects your abilities (ex. favored enemy), the following creature types will be encountered in the game: Aberrations, Dragons, Humanoid (human), Magical Beasts, Monstrous Humanoids, Outsiders (air, chaotic, earth, evil, fire, and water), and Undead.

I haven't settled on a concept, so please share yours, guys! Also, I think we need another player or two...

I'm either thinking about a thief, or if need be a Cleric. I'd come up with a good healer a while back, but never got to play him much, so I might steal the PC concept back for use. I'd like to use a race from the MM, but I'm not sure it'd be worth it to be missing the PC levels. I was thinking bugbear rogue, but I'd only be a 8th level rogue. Not sure its worth the trade off. The other option would be an Aesimir (sp?) cleric. I'd be Cleric 11, with some perks. Using my old Coppertop build there would be room for a little more growth.

I haven't settled on a concept, so please share yours, guys! I'm eyeballing a beguiler / wizard / ultimate magus - likely with a level of mindbender for the team telepathy. Possible specialisation dropping enchantment and illusion. Casts as wiz(11)/beg(5). Possibly a few divine spells (arcane disciple). No idea what to do for magical items, though i'm fond of the old classics - a necklace of adaption, a blessed book, and a headband of intellect. I'd considered just splashing out on something daft like the entire 'Raiment of the four' set.

Yah, the more I look at it the Planetouched Cleric would be fun. Seems I don't miss much by not going Cleric 12.
Unless someone else wants the job, I'm going cleric.

Rojito, you're more than welcome to join. Four's the bare minimum we need, and I'm hoping for five or six.

i am thinking of playing a Rouge/Ranger... with a slight twist I've always REALLY wanted to play a Fairie, or a Pixie as it were, and now i think this could be a perfect oppertunity

I'm thinking things like the Magic Item Compendium, Spell Compendium, Book of Exalted Deeds and such. Is anything fine, or should we consider running everything past you?

I'm only allowing stuff from the core books, PHII, Complete Adventurer, Complete Arcana, Complete Divine, Complete Warrior, and Complete Scoundrel; although I'll need descriptions if you use Complete Scoundrel because I don't own the book.

I'm only allowing stuff from the core books, PHII, Complete Adventurer, Complete Arcana, Complete Divine, Complete Warrior, and Complete Scoundrel Ah - so not complete mage then ?

Wait, there's a Complete Arcane AND Complete Mage? I didn't realize how many "Complete" books there are. Okay, change to the rules: Complete Adventurer, Complete Arcane, Complete Divine, and Complete Warrior only. I want to keep this easy for me, so I'm only allowing books I own:
PHB, PHBII, MM, DMG, Complete Adventurer, Complete Arcane, Complete Divine, and Complete Warrior
If you want a magic item not in these books, I'm willing to create it using the rules in the DMG. Also, I have nothing against animal companions and familiars, or special mounts using the Leadership feat. No extra PCs with Leadership, though.

I'll fill in any gaps on our four-man-band here. Rojito, if you're doing the roguish thing let me know in case I need to pick up slack (two rogues can easily coexist without overlapping much). If we need brawn, that's cool too.
I'll cobble something together tomorrow when something resembling time exists in my world.
