Recorded. Do you want Moonstride or Shield for a utility power today? Shield How small is a 'small' stone, and how much weight can it carry? Recorded.
Small stones are 1 to 2 feet in each dimension. They can hold 500 pounds. It's possible to sand on one (or even a tiny stone of 2 to 4 inches on a side), but to fight while perched on such a small area would mean granting combat advantage and having to make an acrobatics roll if damaged. A tiny stone has a more difficult acrobatics roll needed.

Dart heads into the valley to the bridge. He figures it's cover from above and will give the group time to talk.

I forgot to answer the question of floating blocks staying at one height or following the land. I'm going to say that they follow the land (just to make my keeping track of them easier as you move them around).
Is anyone else going to go with Dart? Or specifically not go with Dart?

I help with epic rope skillz to see if the idea works. "this one way to fly without wings" ( that does mean we dont follow immediatly) [dice=20] + skill[rand=28322860621847210717531915288418589072605664841839871530863456428]

Barbatos glances after the gnome, but by now is used to habit of wandering off.
Hefting the netted rock onto his back the mage takes a few steps and then floats unsteadily into the air for a few moments before resuming the journey on foot, "never know when this kind of thing might be useful".

Just to make sure I'm clear on what you intend, Barbatos finds a stone sufficient to hold his weight (probably a tiny stone, which can hold 250 lbs) and has it tied to his back rather than placed in his backpack. This will slow his walking movement by half, it will keep him from falling if he jumps up (leaving him helpless in the air), it may keep him from being knocked prone (but may be helpless in the air until he gets his feet under him).
Or is he jumping up and planing to move using Mage Hand?

Or is he jumping up and planing to move using Mage Hand? Tied into a pack or netting so that it won't fall off, but can be taken off and passed around if needed. I had assumed that I could use mage hand as a move action to float 5 squares in any direction, suspended by the stone. It's not practical or fast, but you never know ... (you can assume that Barbatos is doing this on the move - just killing time until the next round of posts)

Your descent into the valley is steep regardless of the direction you take. About halfway down, the geography forms a natural spur that juts out from the slope. On it stands an ancient statue of a dragonborn warrior, propped up rather than lying broken on the ground. Similar spurs ring the entire circumference of the valley at this elevation, one about every 40 feet, and a similar statue stands on each.

Once out of sight of the others Dart turns into a chimpanzee or the local equivalent. And sees what he can climb. In some places the random stones are close enough together to climb from one up to another. In some cases stones are close enough to leap from one to another. But even for a chimpanzee, these stones don't provide great footing. Dart has not problem climbing around for the fun of it, but realizes that he would be an easy target if he had to fight while perched on one of these tiny or small stones. Dart will encounter the line of statues (described above) before he reaches anywhere interesting to climb to. What does Dart do there?

Dart ( climbs the statues and watches the party and the area around him. If any party member tries to get to close to him he'll hold their hand and let them lead him if not he'll continue to climb around. His strategy is to be assumed to be someones lost pet. If the party is attacked and captured he'll be near by.) What I'm doing is practicing his shapeshifting abilities to find out what are the strengths and limitations are. So has my hearing improved, am I stronger, am I slower, faster etc?

"These must have been placed after the crash, warning markers perhaps."+13 Arcana (detect magic) Barbatos can detect a zone that extends out from the statue and towards the statues on the left and right. It extends about 30 feet from the statues and blends in with the fields from the nearby stations to make a continuous field around the statues.

History is the appropriate skill Blastishy recognizes that they are of dragonborn origin, in a style common in the times of the ancient dragonborn empire.

If the party is attacked and captured he'll be near by.) What I'm doing is practicing his shapeshifting abilities to find out what are the strengths and limitations are. So has my hearing improved, am I stronger, am I slower, faster etc? Your physical abilities and senses seem to be unchanged. You are faster and more agile, but that has more to do with not wearing plate armor than the form you changed into, the same would be true of any animal form. You feel that you could gain expertise in the advantages of a particular animal form, but that would require significant practice (as in spend a feat).A small tailless monkey comes from the side of the group, heading for the statue. As it enters the zone that Barbatos detected it triggers it. A phantasmal dragonborn warrior emerges from the statue. She is armored and carries a sword. The head of a stylized dragon is on her chest. Image Rather than attacking, the apparition speaks to the group, her voice hollow and echoing as she says, “ This is no place for the still breathing. It is a sad tomb meant for the dead. My name was Vrak Tiburcaex in life, but now I am something less. My soldiers and I mean to do you no harm, but our preference will become meaningless if you persist here. We are duty-bound to the last remaining scion of a once glorious house of warriors. While it pains us to siphon life from the living, we must carry out the will of our new steward, even if doing so compromises our noble history. Leave while you can or forfeit your lives to our growing hunger. We can only stand idle for so long.” Even the least insightful member of the group can tell that this is a depressed and despondent spirit who clearly does not enjoy her current predicament. Tag all for the skill challenge: Can you convince a Ghost not to kill all of you? Bluff, Diplomacy, History, Intimidate, and Insight are the obvious skills to try, but you can use any skill if you can explain how it applies. Remember, only one skill roll per turn, and wait till everyone gets a chance before trying again.

Map The little squares are floating chunks of rock, either tiny or small. The color tells how high they are floating. Dark gray is between 0 & 5 feet. Medium Gray is between 5 and 10 feet, and light grey is between 10 and 15 feet. The stones continue up, but I thought that was high enough Steep Slope: Moving uphill in this area counts as difficult terrain. Rubble: Marble architecture protrudes out of the ground and can provide normal cover if crouched behind and superior cover if prone. Rubble counts as difficult terrain. Trees: Fir trees provide cover and can be climbed (Athletics DC 15). Also, let me know where you want to be on the map during the talk with the Ghost.

The monkey was an unlikely inhabitant of this place, perhaps a familiar or the like tasked with triggering the defenses should intruders seek to circumvent the field.
Turning towards the apparition Barbatos casts his mind back to his training and study, for the dead to be bound as such spoke either of imprisonment or tasking under the authority of a god - and if the later there might be some phrase or mantra to dismiss them.
"Are you the warriors of Ustraternes? We had believed this place taken by the followers of Zehir, but you do not wear his symbol."
