Do the bodies still have their weapons? And what kind of wounds am I seeing? What kind of bloody tracks am I seeing? Ka'lion well make a listen check? a Spot check? and search check to identify the attackers. Once he's sure he's not walking into a trap he'll check to be sure everyone is dead. starting with any children.
search [dice=20]+4 = 12 spot [dice=20] +2.5 = 21.5 listen [dice=20] +4 = 10[rand=3927608907688409789485481334850232174435025081047607148396782577]

And what kind of wounds am I seeing? a Spot check? and search check to identify the attackers. In this case a Knowledge:Nature, Survival, Heal, or similar check would be most appropriate - Ka'lion can see the injuries well enough.
One skill attempt per combat round please. I'm finding Ka'lion's skill sheet hard to read, are you sure you've spent all your skill points?

No I didn't spend all his skill points - he was 20 points short - Ka'lion updated. I was also one feat short.

The darkness even he can't see through? this worries Nillfree even more. it is easy to hid in yes, helpful if he could only see through it. He calms himself and stops flailing his arms. He must wait for the right time to strike, shooting not a good option for they are using the cover, best lure them to him. This time with sword in hand ( move action ) he will ready an attack if the birds dare try and dive at him once more.

(Harknail - this assumes you didn't include the penalty for sickness in your rolls - if you did, then you hit and i'll change the post) I had not included the modifiers. I am happy with the result

he will ready an attack if the birds dare try and dive at him once more. Strike away - the birds are trying to bear down on Nillfree not hit and run. They have left the cover of the cloud around Vadania which even now is beginning to clear - no penalties to hit, just a pretty tough target number.

Aelos continues his charge towards after the druid and rogue. If he can, attack against what's attacking them. (Charge if he must.) Just in case I can attack. [dice=20] +3 = 14 For [dice=08] +1 = 2

Then Nilfree will swing at the one who clawed him. [dice=20]+3 to hit feat lets him use a light blade using Dex to hit not strength [dice=4]-1 do to lack of strength (at 9= mod at -1) As he swings the bird doges to the left and the blade does not grease it at all, missing badly.

Ka'lion's been corrected again. Lost 9 skill points and a feat and a bad hit point roll so I'm happy with the result.
So that means I was 11 points skill points short and 3 hit points over what I should of been. I pass on the disadvantages - I prefer such things as part of an original concept.
In any case - we are back to search for traps - new roll based on updated information.[dice=20] +6 = 16[rand=4580210729036484839997030794620550350700481794774375410405918956]

Nillfree spins as the birds attack, swiping with his sword but finding only air - none of his practice or experience had prepared him for such a foe.
Aelos quickly joins him but finds them no easier to strike, each bird diving as their prey turned to follow the other.
Preparing to aid her allies Vadania catches a sight of another bird to her right but turns to see that it was the raven from before gliding silently out of sight behind the inn.

With no ravens attacking her at the moment, Vadania takes this opportunity to try the door of the inn. A quick commands sends Ylva to try and help one of the others. Ylva will try to get flanking as she is trained to do. Regardless of if the door opens or not, Vadania will switch from sword and shield to her bow. The door is already wide open, though Vadania cannot see into the inn past the swirling could of black. As the elf approaches her feet slide away as if the ground was made of glass, her yelp of surprise causing Ylva to glance around and miss her opportunity to strike.
The birds continue to strike, now targetting Aelos but his thick armour protects him from the worst of it. Behind them Belomme calls out "Where are they? I can't see them!"
In the relative peace of the church Ka'lion climbs down, confidant that there are no traps hidden amongst the furniture. There are several families here, if not all the inhabitants then a significant number of them. Some have been burnt as if by acid and all bear marks of attacks from small animals - most likely birds.
(tag all)
(Vadania save DC 16 or fall - no damage)

Ka'lion checks the bodies for life. Hoping none are alive. He knows if any of them are it's going to create additional problems for the party. But the ugly job must be done because it is the right thing to do. Survival +5 [dice=20] = 14 [rand=410572591703385110246047098189592768972636898979507926098606549203]

Ka'lion well go out the back door to help the others. " The wizard we are fighting flew off and no one has figured it out yet because our Characters skills cant provide the information the party needs. This sucks.

" The wizard we are fighting flew off and no one has figured it out yet because our Characters skills cant provide the information the party needs. This sucks. (if your attacker could cast fly or polymorph they'd be throwing heavier artillery than grease and 'summon evil crow'. None of the encounters are unbeatable if you work together, actually Nillfree could have snuck up on the guy if not for half the group coming with him...
Don't feel too put out if you struggle with an encounter, the game is on a fixed 'chapter' type level progression so if you miss any side plots they get 'caught up' with alternate scenarios - if you'd skipped the wolves it'd actually be night of the living dead right now ).

I'm not getting discouraged. The wizard sounds like he is 5th or 6th level so he is not beyond our ability to fight but he is beyond our ability to catch at this time and if he can cast spells into a locked room we are never going to have the upper hand. But my point was we seem to be very weak in the skill set we need to survive an encounter with him.
