Vadania leads the party away from the bodies, further than she really needs to aware that their slow progress might easily stretch their journey out another night.
The rain is not heavy but strong winds whip in all directions, and overhead the stormclouds stubbornly refuse to move. The group take shelter under a towering tree, save for Ka'lion who climbs above them.
Hours pass and light fades to nothing save for a flicker from Nillfree's lantern. Ka'lion finds no comfort in the branches and the wind shakes the tree around him but as he turns in his hammock his eyes pick out a distant glimmer of light, a camp fire or perhaps torches.

Ka'lion makes a mental note of where the fire is. In the morning he'll bring it up but point out that they need to get back on track. Chasing fires is not going to get us paid.

The remainder of the night passes without note, the strong winds giving way to a heavy downpour that abates somewhat as the sun rises.
The fire Ka'lion spotted is no longer visible on the horizon, but it is not a great detour from the group's path. On arrival at the site however there is little left - a battered and torn construction of wood and canvas lies in the mud, a discarded sword, a few feathers from a large black bird.
There is no sign of the camp's inhabitants, no tracks to follow after so many hours of heavy rain.
The group still has a little over 14 miles to cover before they reach their destination.
(DC10 fort save to avoid fatigue from the rough night, DC6 if the character has a tent or other way to shelter themselves.
Divine casters need to specify when during the day they are required to meditate, otherwise i'll assume first light)

Vadania Fort Save[dice=20]+5=15 Crack of dawn is when Vadania prays for her spells. She'll give the rest of yesterdays berries to whoever is still injured (I think that's just the barbarian) and then look for more berries to cast another goodberry spell.[rand=4635034070815891418007164029404519422896578907967860454638954252]

Ka'lion fatigue save +5[dice=20] 18 over all. He had a good night sleep and has no idea why the rest of the party is so grumpy. He'll be fully recovered tomorrow. He loves the berries. He wants to learn the spell next level. He's not wild about the heavy armor. But it will do for now. He will collect the sword and feathers. What type of bird did they come from?[rand=6467357228975743725239237071946325678460369817918707092760596424]

[dice=20]+5 = 11 Fort save. Not the best night, but can move on. Morning prayer will help forget the annoyances of sleeping in a storm. Looking at the wood and canvas, Aelos wonders aloud, "Any idea what this stuff was for? A make-shift shelter maybe?"
Is any of the wood or canvas salvageable? Might be useful for making some cover against the winds and rain when camping at night.[rand=2744320057938406476174223866119931539465250641348638333637946241006]

Aelos's best guess that it was some kind of shelter, half complete and torn apart by the winds when left unattended. With needle and thread the canvas might be salvagable and you find a half dozen pitons scattered in the mud.
The feathers suggest a large bird such as a crow, while the sword is relatively short with no notable marks.
Whoever was here left in a hurry and you can only wonder as to their fate.
-----
Beyond you lies a days forced march through swampland, though the ground here is relatively flat it is treacherous at the best of times and the rain and low fog only complicate things. Still you are some distance from the fell proper, indeed Vadania is aware of a small settlement in the area that the group might rest at should they wish to take a more cautious pace.
(One day forced march to target, or two days normal speed with or without a detour to find this settlement. Vadania is only aware of it's existance and has not been there personally)

Ka'lion leaves the feather adds the sword to his pack. The village would be good. He can sell off the weapons the party doesn't need. "Who's skilled in haggling?"

looking very sleepy Ka'lion sees a tired slowly raises his hand. Nilfree does not look good at all but he does not let it prevent him from speaking in a tired voice "as long as i get some profit out of it i don't mind doing that for you. yet i will say it is also called in my line of work "negotiations" or "economic transactions". haggling is such a ugly word to use for it so i ask you don't use it. i would first have to inspect what you want to sell before i try and sell it. but for now i would wish to be left alone. i will inspect it at a later time we need to push on." fort save [dice=20]+1 failed[rand=263063468271866444751476517412811535256714536808434105815370567143]

I'm a bit confused. I thought the first spot we were heading for was close enough that Vadania could reach it in a day. But after traveling part of a day, now it's two days away unless we do a forced march. Am I missing something?

"I like haggling myself. It treats others as your equals. Negotiations sounds to me as if your on a diplomatic missing for a kingdoms return. Much to heavy handed for a chat related to coin. I'd do it myself but it is not really a gift of mine. I'll pay you 10% on anything over 50% value of the goods we sell. The better you do the more you make. On the other hand if you don't make over 50% on the goods you pay me the difference for your mad boast. Hows that for a negotiation?" said Ka'lion

"I can't agree to the terms as they have been stated. see each thing is of different value, each buyer a different personality, and each buyer has a certain income and will to buy. this being the case not set % would work. economy is fluid therefor %'s change daily. i will not agree to a measly 10%. I said I could do it, not that i was the best. yet i was the only one to raise my hand hear. I did willing saying that i have done so in the past. If u call that boasting then you don't know the meaning of the word. You did not hear what i said and if you are to learn this art then that is how you should first start. your words have meaning and implications. both will win or lose you money so pick your words and tone carefully. you started to low of a percentage and then said i had to take money out for any loss. this shows that you yourself have no faith in me. why should i take the risk if i am then the only one who will lose in the failed transactions and not yourself with me that is not an even partnership. This showing no trust, and trust is everything to me if i am going to work with someone. even more so if money is involved. so this is not a good start if we are to be partners.then you have also you told me they way i do it is wrong, openly insulting in how ones does his work. I will not change how i do my transactions just to suit you and if you wish to try and change this i will not do so for you. all of these add up to something you never do if u wish to be partners. so if are to enter in to any deal then i will allow you to retract your previous statement and try again, and see if i like your next offer other wise we have no deal."

I'm a bit confused. I thought the first spot we were heading for was close enough that Vadania could reach it in a day. But after traveling part of a day, now it's two days away unless we do a forced march. Am I missing something? Unencumbered and with woodland stride and Vadania could have made the trip in one day if she maintained a good pace. But the group is moving at a notably reduced speed, lost more than an hour in town, made a half-hour detour off the track before deciding to stop early.
Simply put a druid and wolf can travel overland much faster than a zigzagging pack mule and baggage laden barbarian "The village then?" inquires a tired looking Belomme. As he speaks the mule becomes agitated and Ylva whimpers - a slight tremor in the ground can be felt by all ... and then it is past. Both the mage and priest look skyward and are greeted by the same dark clouds and rain, no sign of the fire that would mark the demon's return. Just an earthquake.

"We are already partners - I asked you to loot the bodies remember. That is everyone coin - not just yours. I hope you've kept it separate from your own coin. If you want extra coin you need to prove you are worth it. Not just say you are. I have never claimed these weapons are mine alone. I only claimed what I need and if being a pack mule makes them mine that's fine. I wont get a good deal but I wont be sharing either. The rest of the team have pulled their weight so far. So I guess that means I'll be sharing your share with them instead of you." said Ka'lion

At this remark the gnome tired as he is lets lose what could be the closest thing to anger he has had in a very long time"If u cut me out of what should be my share i will have no choice but to defend what is rightfully mine, and you have no right to take it from me. I have had to put up with people taking my things and my money that i earned, that right earned by and honest living. I had to leave cause the gangs tried to rope me in, i was beaten by the guards i was robed, and wrongfully in-jailed more then once. i had to run for my life from a unlawful city of death, misery, sadness and a lot more bad things that u could ever think of. so excuse me if i have to do what i have to do to survive. i left to live, if you wish to be an ass hole like they were then your no better the thugs who beat me and took my money. you wish to do this to some one who has all the things he owns in that mule? your not going to take or prevent me from getting my share and if i have to make my last stand hear and now then i die a broken but free gnome. i don't give a shit what u think i am in tiled to. your not my boss or partner and all you have been to me is a stupid thug that does not give a shit but himself. you dare now take my things and my money when i have almost nothing. i am done with having to put up with peoples shit and how they treat me and i won't do it not now not even again. so if u think you can tell me what to do or how i get paid u can fuck off. the reason i am not of use to you yet is cause we are in the forest i have never been out hear only once and that was do to running away, i have more skills then u give me credit for, but i have nothing to prove to anyone but myself. showing off get you killed were i am from, as does bragging gets you throat cut cause you were running your mouth to the wrong guy. you keep a low profile and hope your lucky enough not to get killed in your sleep in that city or beaten to death by the ones who say they protect the innocent. so excuse me for not jumping up and showing off me skills when for years i was unable to out of fear of death or worse. if i am no use to you then i offer my last peace advice and i give it freely don't go to burr town it my be the last thing you ever do. I know my way around cities and i can sneak into most any place undetected. i can get information with out being conspicuous, but hey your right that is no use to you how could it be you just beat things to death. So with that I will stay until we make it back to town and then i will take me leave from what seams people that see no talent in me. I don't need you to see it, only for me to know that i can and use it when i must to survive i am not a tool for hire as u make me out to be. They tried that and they ended up regretting it and no i did not kill them. Now i ask for you to leave me the hell alone and never talk to me for the rest of this trip. " and with that he walks to the mule takes the rains and keeps walking the direction they are heading.

Also cause in point you did not see him pick up any money unless the dm says other wise. and he has told no one of it, he was making a party fund and he did not tell anyone of it cause we were arguing over where to sleep and that was more important. Also he was going to give the party when they split up all the loot form the entire adventure. no one asked if he found the money and if they had we would have told them he did so and he was making a fund for everyone, so your actualization are also uncalled for in game. and no looting a body does not make him a partner with you just cause he helped out once does not make him your partner or freind. you got way more then anything and you did not split what you got with the rest of the party yourself. and you gave no intention with splitting the selling of any item you found. keeping the money from the others. hypocritical much? sry but you do this in every game and i don't know if i want to play with you if your going to be like this. I have asked you other times to be a team player and so far once more you pull this crap. you do shit that pisses me off and make the game not enjoyable for me. I don't think i can game with you ever again. i have give you muiltipul chances and this pushes it over the line for me. I will game until the party gets back to town and then i'm done if things get better i may change my mind but until then that is what i will do.

Your making a mountain over nothing. Ka'lion was bargaining with you and your feeling threatened over it. You said you wanted payment to trade the goods. Ka'lion made an offer - a reasonable one because it sounded like you felt you deserved a bigger piece of the pie. You didn't like the deal and said so. Ka'lion has done nothing to threaten anyone in the party and so far he's been hurt the worst. He doesn't want the armor. He's planning to become a monk and it wont be of any use to him when he does. It's just easier to carry if he is wearing it. And the GM told the party how much gold you collected from the dead. Ka'lion is a very smart barbarian and you have repeatedly treated him as stupid and he is smart enough to know it. He has never hurt your character. He has never cheated anyone in the party and doesn't intend to. He has even tried to help everyone with his suggestions. Most of which people in the party think where stupid. Your character started off friendly and then he got greedy and it has Ka'lion concerned. With reason by the way. Your background story may gain some sympathy but it also shows a very strong character flaw. You believe in taking what you can. Everyone takes from you and you where to small and helpless to do anything about it. Ka'lion takes from the dead because the dead no longer has a use for it and he sells the stuff in towns because others will have a use for it. He's just being practical. He's not yours or character enemy. You need to cool down.

Ka'lion looks at the gnome. "It's a pity you do not know what it means to be free. You put to high of a price on the value of coin. You do not need it to live or to live well. Wealth has uses, but it should never become your reason for living. All your life people have taken from you. I have taken nothing from you. I asked for your help and you wanted payment for it. So I assumed you wanted nothing from me. What you need to learn is to control your temper. You might want to study as a monk. Someday I will. I have anger issues. I don't deny it. I was getting help at the temple with my rage. Someday I wish to settle down and rule the world or at least my own backyard. People that put to high of a price on the value of coin often turn traitor or assassin because it pays well. I am not your enemy. Are you mine?"

Vadania is amused by the discussion, having little need herself for either possessions or cash. She is also amused by the attitude of the Barbarian, who needed help dealing with the scrawniest of the wolves. "Nilfree I'm afraid we won't have much use of your negotiation skills in our assigned task, that of guarding Navarre as he visits crypts to ensure the demon is kept bound. This is an important task and failing at it may mean the death of all here in the steadlands. I find no fault in your sword skills however, and such skill is much needed. As for loot you get from the bodies, I expect you'll be carrying it for quite a while before you can sell it or spend it. The town I've heard of in the area is quite small, just a collection of a few families. I expect that they won't be doing much buying or selling"
OOC: Has Vadania heard anything as to how they treat strangers?
