Starting a separate thread to discuss restarting the game. So far I have Harknail, Llewelyn, Blastishy (being replaced with a new character) and someone new joining.

Still good to go with Barbatos, think i'm getting the hang of 4th ed.
Need to pick up scorching burst at some point for an at will multiple target attack - rolling as many attack dice as possible with each action seems to work for me.

OK, I think that leaves us with a party of 5, with all the roles covered. That's a good size :-).
Just need to wait for Blastishy to make his character and the new fellow to get his character posted. Looks like he'll be playing the same character he's playing in the face to face game.

We may have a delay until next weekend. Blastishy needs to use my Character Builder to finish his character and we won't see each other till the Friday DRAGON meeting.

Yeah, I just need to get the information for my character before I can post it. Joe, is there a way that I can get my character's information from you so I can put it in its own thread? If not, then I can just pick up my character sheet from you at the next DRAGON meeting.

I've added your character to the iplay4e campaign. You can see all the characters currently in the campaign here. Once you're a member of the campaign, you'll also be able to see the status of all characters. |

Not dead, just hibernating  I get overwhelmed by work and/or face-to-face games, and turn speed suffers. Or I wait for players that aren't checking for new turns. Which reminds me, please check for new turns and post if appropriate at least once a week. If someone hasn't posted in a week, I'll NPC their character and continue. I think a week should be enough to allow for busy schedules. GMing this game takes a lot more time than playing though, so I might lag from time to time. If I'm slow responding, feel free to ping me with a post. That will send me an email to remind me that players are waiting. Private messages don't work as well, I only see those when looking at a new post. |

Wanted to do a check on our party balance. You said we had all roles fulfilled, but how many do we have in each roll? I'd be willing to roll a new one up if we could really use an extra of something.

I think we'll have 3 strikers and 1 of each other role. Which is fine, a balanced but hard hitting party. I'd rather you keep the same character so that we have some continuity, but if you really want to run something else, now is the time to switch.

So what do I need to do to start playing? Do I just fill out the typical character post and put it in the appropriate place? I can do that after work today, or perhaps before, if I have time.
As for actually posting, I'll go read some other people's posts to see how it's done.

One or two of the players will be making new characters this Friday (using my copy of Character builder). I'll be restarting the game after that.
Posting the character in the appropriate place is good, but what I really need is to have the actual dnd4e file for iPlay4e and 4eTurnTracker, the programs I use to track player status.
For those making characters by hand, just post the character and I'll enter it into character builder. I'll post more on how the game runs later.

You already have my character, (Claros Shadosa), so I'm ready when everyone else is. Also, I downloaded my .dnd4e file from iPlay4e, just so I have it on file. There was a bit of a problem in that he was wielding a light shield in his main hand, with no weapon. I corrected it on my end, but you might want to look into that on your end, Joe.
Regardless, I'll just browse around the forums until we get started. Or until something further is required of me.

Well things aren't quite ready. I'm still missing one character sheet. And I've asked that the name "Robert Bane" be changed to something more fantasy sounding (which is why I'm not mentioning newcomers by name in the post). But I have enough to get started, so I've started a new thread here.We can discuss how the group wants to proceed while I get the next map ready. You can continue to make OOC comments about the game here in this thread. Especially if I missed someone! If I got it right, we now have Claros Shadosa (copied from my face-to-face game). Also Tol's player is making a new Hexblade. Did I miss anyone? |

Some Background info on Harknail: he is OLD, having been trapped underground for millennia. He hasn't actually been active that long, so he doesn't have much in the way of battle scars. When he first walked the earth there was a major metropolis where there is now a forest so old and deep that it has a connection to the feywild. And the shoreline has changed significantly. This is why he talks strangely.
Revenents usally come back in a generation. He's more likely to remember the dragonborn empire and it's flying fortresses ( we're exploring the wreckage of one). It and the opposing Tiefling empire are only hundreds of years gone.

Joe, should I modify my first post to reflect you character's backstory? Or is it fine to leave it as it is?
Also, my character concept for Claros Shadosa was made around a character who has been dead for about 1,000 years. My idea for him was that he was a prominent, perhaps even Paragon Tier Rogue during life, and that the Raven Queen only resurrected him now because he holds some kind of knowledge or skill that will help with upcoming events. Like in the face-to-face game, he was alive at the start of the Dragonborn and Tiefling empires, but never saw them rise to their full power. I can, of course, modify his age if that seems like too much of a stretch, however.

I don't have definite dates on the empires. Also the dates are different for the different campaigns. In either case, the Dragonborn and Tiefling empires were followed by another empire which also fell.
I've no problems with your character being from early in the Dragonborn or Tielfling Empires. Is he from before they came in contact? If so, which does he know (The war started when they encountered each other).
In any case, I can work with that <evil grin>
Revising the post is probably a good idea.

Well, he's around 1,000 years dead, so I'm guessing that would put him before the two empires came into contact. I'm also thinking of putting him more aligned with the Tiefling empire, as his best friend when he was alive was a Tiefling. (I've put a lot of thought into the backstory of my characters; I'll update Claros' character thread soon.) He knew of Dragonborn, but mainly from traveler's tales and other stuff that he never really believed. Now, after he's been risen for at least a year or so, he's learned as much as he can from the books in the Elkridge area and wants to learn about things first-hand. And thus, his motivation for joining up with the group.
Also, I will revise my post with more accurate information regarding your character.
