Could I get an update on everyone's HP? Also, I'll be without internet till Monday night, so if anyone really needs it, go ahead and roll for my healing (don't forget +2 per spell level from feats). I know the Barbarian is pretty low, but not sure about the others. Aelos moves to the Barbarian "Sorry for the lateness, was too busy pondering the idea of eating hydra." Cure Light Wounds, sacrificing Shield of Faith. [dice=8]+4 HP restored. Should still have Bless and Protection from Evil for first level spells, let me know if I'm wrong. Aelos is confident in his melee abilities, so he'll be looking to protect the less armored.

" Thank you Aelos. " says Ka'lion as he circles to the left side of the valley at the high point along the ridge. The party can walk with him if they like. Ka'lion is currently at half hit points and is Leary of ambushes. But where his route is slower then the druid likes things Ka'lion wants to go to highest points to get an idea of the valleys dangers not just from the crypt they are looking for. One thing his is looking for is signs of the lizardmen or other camps.

Before moving from their vantage point, Vadania uses her keen eyes to try to spot the entrance to the crypt on the far wall of the valley. Although distant, this vantage point gives an excellent view of the area, and any details that might not be visible when the group was right atop them.
Spot: [dice=20]+10=26 OOC: I'm thinking signs of large scale construction that would blend in up close but might be obvious from afar, such as an area with lots of rock excavated from carving the crypt. I remember stories of things that can't be seen from the ground but a readily visible with the broader view from the air.[rand=79625442344695333858919825870543725885350909084089243060320150107]

Vadania can pick out what appears to be the crypt entrance - a steady stream of water flows towards a stone construction near the far wall as the water in the valley drains towards it.
She also picks out what appear to be the skulls of various animals mounted on wooden pikes scattered throughout the valley. Lizardmen territorial markers, though no sign of the lizardmen themselves.
Darrian is more interested in the valley itself as if the rumours he heard were true it was formed by the impact of a meteor long ago, but he is disappointed that he can see no sign of dwarven construction here.

How much cover is there to conceal a descent at this point? I suspect we'd be very visible to anyone in the valley.
Did Ka'lion take his mule with him?

Yes Ka'lion did take my mule with him. Mule are used by miners to carry things in mines - they are better climbers then horses are although not as good as we are and we are not as good as monkeys.

Descent is possible at almost any point for a human, but the mule must either be lowered by rope or led around a shallower but more exposed slope.
Vadania is familiar enough about the lizardmen of the fell to know that while they sometimes hunt at night they are not nocturnal creatures by nature.

Darrian is a bit disappointed after all of his hardships getting here that he cannot make out the Dwarven construction he had anticipated, but he knows also that if such things were obvious, he wouldn't be here, as the resources he seeks would have long ago been mined out.
He keeps to himself as they make their way across the valley. He is a trusting person, when it seems reasonable, but he is cautious as well. The less they know of his goals the better, he thinks, until he knows better their own motivations. He has little to offer in expertise in the wilderness as they make their way towards this "crypt" they keep speaking of, so he let's the elf lead the way, and tries to keep out of view from any other surveyors on the other side.
He has to concentrate hard a few times to keep from lashing out at the crazed barbarian and his reckless ways, but he knows doing so would not be wise in a group of new companions. However little Darrian knows about the wilderness and the art of sneaking into unknown territory, he knows running up to the ridge line has to be a bad move...

Ka'lion will take the long way. He moves fast enough to come to the parties aid if they need him he thinks. But he is welling to wander off if he needs to. just got the players 2: the shapeshift verdant is fine with me as long as it has no effect on his barbarian class abilities: namely his speed bonus and rage abilities - as I read it I don't think it does: first form Black Panther - I like the coloring and it would add some stealth possibilities. He will need to take the prestige class of shapeshifter to regain a druids full options but we can give it a try.

"I see Lizardmen territory markers down there," comments Vadania. She looks to see where the path down that would provide the most cover is.
How much vegetation is there in the valley? Especially trees? What about on the slopes and on the gentler entrances to the valley? Vadania would like to get down there without being seen by every lizardman in the valley!

How much vegetation is there in the valley? Especially trees? What about on the slopes and on the gentler entrances to the valley?! It's pretty sparse - the valley floor looks unusually rocky and barren given the location, and the sides of the valley themselves quite steep as if it was gouged from the earth itself. As Vadania muses the possibility of an approach masked by darkness Ka'lion leads his mule away along the ridgeline - were it not for the overcast sky he would be clearly visible from below as he moves between patches of trees and foliage. He can see a slope that looks shallow and stable enough for himself and his mule not far away. "Look! There!" Maddy shakes Vadanias arm and points across the valley. The elf can make out indistinct movement amongst the brush, perhaps one of the lizardmen.

At Maddy's alert, Darrian does his best to conceal himself in the brush, waiting for the elf to react to the motion he can barely make out in the distance.

I'll sac Bless then, since we have a Bard. This should leave me with only Prot from Evil right?

I'll sac Bless then, since we have a Bard. This should leave me with only Prot from Evil right?Aelos attempts to see what was moving. (right)The glint of metal and a few brightly coloured feathers suggest the weapon of a lizardman patrol, just below the far ridgeline. The lizardmen of this land do not use bows but are quite adept with javelins and short spears, while they cannot reach you from here a force on the ridgeline would be a threat to anyone in the valley below. Standing on the easter edge of the valley Ka'lion and his mule would be easily spotted should the lizardmen crest the ridge and look over. Once into the valley however the gradually falling sun casts a shadow that will aid concealment.

Ka'lion's not concerned about being seen but he does start to pick up sling stones on the ridge. Sending a scouting party after Ka'lion will allow the others to use him as a diversion or like Ka'lion intends walking along the ridge will bring the lizardmen out into the open. The party has no way to enter the valley until night fall safely and lizards sleep at night - he thinks - he thinks lizardmen are cool blooded creatures but he has no experience to be sure. knowledge check: [dice=20]+6 nature or arcane +5 religion[rand=62514622369781148864582697860897119172968203201894288096926175058]

Lizardfolk are known to be sluggish in the cold and are rarely seen at night, though they do not fall into dormancy or hibernation and are smart enough to both place guards and rally to the defence of their lands no matter what the time of day.
The creatures are also known to be no strangers to magic and have likely devised means to warm themselves to battle, though skilled practitioners of magic are likely rare amongst them - Ka'lion has never heard of a lizardman academy or the like...

Ka'lion will try to spot the shamans home - he figures it will have extra protection. He will fire sling stones at the closest lizardfolk with weapons he sees ( but not at children - even if they have weapons). He really does not care if he hits anything. He is just trying to draw a small attack force after him that the party can manage so when they do try the valley there are fewer numbers. On the ridge he does have high ground. spot +3[dice=20]= attacks +3[dice=20]- 50 ft increments = [dice=4][rand=9382549605797976743098852923139973552334122359750023118257522583008]

He can see something moving at the far side of the valley and hundreds of feet away, though he cannot make out what it is.

Ka'lion will fire at the unseen target. His trying to provoke them. He should miss. But he is trying to hit. +3[dice=20]=16[rand=65190505515784036041317307390273335673621157184240006735902279615402]
