It was not safe to rest here and the guards of clearwater needed to be warned of the necromancy. Battered and exhausted it was time to head for friendlier lands.

Now that all were safe above ground, Darrian decided to go back to the pack of things the Dwarf had left behind.
Darrian intends to take the whole pack if possible after quickly browsing through its contents to ensure there isn't anything undesirable in it. He is also OK with transferring the contents to his own satchel at his side, but he will do so with a piece of cloth, knowing as an arcane scholar you shouldn't touch unknown items that may be laced with magic. The key is to do it as quickly and quietly as possible. He will tell the others of his finding, saying they should examine it more once they are in a safer place.

"I know we're all exhausted, but we need to get out of here before the Lizard men wake up," says Vadania. "Also we need to be careful about any nighttime guard patrols."
We went in after nightfall, while most Lizardmen were sleeping. So it's near sunrise now? LONG day for us...

"Agreed, Vadania. Let us move quickly. Who has an idea on the best way out of the valley?" Darrian replies.

"I'm getting my stuff and my horse. Where are we? I don't feel so good. What happened to me?" says Ka'lion Ka'lion is a red head so his wolf form I figure is red furred. I'll be back in a few hours. I need to speak with some Lawyers on campus about becoming a Lord ( real world ) Personally I think it's a bit silly that you can become a lord in Scotland for 88$

Most of the bags contents are in tatters, though you do find a mix of dwarven and human coinage that will take longer than you care to count at this time, the thunderstones and bolts mentioned earlier, three small glass-stoppered bottles of an orange liquid, one blue tinted purfume bottle, a wand tipped with a purple crystal, a small, flat crystal that seems to glow as if recently pulled from a fire, and a convex lens hung from a chain of blue glass. There are several other items that have deteriorated beyond usefulness including clothing, food, an iron dagger, and three books. Personally I think it's a bit silly that you can become a lord in Scotland for 88$ The lord of Glencoe scam or something from Amazon?

Darrian takes the contents that are not disheveled to the point of being useless. He then turns to Vadania for answers on the next course of action.

Vadania will try to find the spot where the descended so as to be able to recover Ka'lions stuff. Recovering his mule will be more difficult since it ran off to who knows where. Vadania will start off in the direction it fled to so that we have at least a chance to recover it. But her primary concern is to get away from here before dawn and to avoid any patrols.

Was just about to pray to Pelor, glad he took initiative =P. "Good work there Ka'lion, let me take a look at you." Even though it's a lead into the class, Aelos doesn't know that (probably hasn't even seen the class before), so he'll take a look and see if it is Ka'lion becoming a werewolf or some other ailment. I don't have much time now so not going to roll and whatnot, if you'd like to further it, you can go ahead and roll or wait for me to get back from work.

The lord of Glencoe scam or something from Amazon? Lord of Glencoe scam. I'm going try to get my money plus damages. But it's going to take some time. Mostly I want to know if I own the land I bought with it or not.
Ka'lion gets up and puts the grill back on the chimney and starts putting rocks on it after pulling his ropes clear. He's not living this as an escape route for the undead below. He can use some help but he wont ask for it.

Aelos has no easy way to determine if Ka'lion is affected by lycanthropy other than waiting for a full moon, though he knows that the poisonous belladonna plant can cure a newly inflicted individual.
Ka'lions change does not seem to fit the pattern though - unless he had been unknowingly bitten by the wolf encountered before entering the crypt there would seem to have been no opportunity for him to contract it.
The mask seems a more likely cause, indeed the barbarian seems unable to remove it , the edges have become tied to his skin somehow. It is however clearly still a mask, enough force or a sharp blade would likely remove it, or perhaps a simple mental or verbal command.
Vadania determines that the group is still on the same side of the valley that they had entered from, and it is a short journey to Ka'lions possessions. The items remain, hidden, but Vadania spots two sets of tracks heading off to the west - the mules and several pairs of claws feet following them.

Ka'lion asks for suggestions for cammand words to take it off. He figures that the bloody inside was caused by the last guy that tried to force it off. "Let go. Open. remove. Wolf. Flow." intelagence check. +4+roll=[dice=20][rand=1565558456350118057729502907022834432260476285591712639800528995693]

I never remember if it's Spellcraft or Know (Arcana), pretty sure it's just arcana in order to identify things like possible command words. Either way, I have the same amazing bonus of a +2 so I'll just roll it and you tell me which +2 it was. [dice=20]+2 = 5 Aelos hasn't a clue. I'm going to claim it's cause the mask isn't one of Pelor for smashing undead abominations.
Aelos is going to keep an eye on Ka'lion. He isn't worried that Ka'lion will suddenly attack the group, but more of to try and think of a way to help Ka'lion out. [rand=1250902017265616653875277275752683505301166993531901521606093053]

Vadania shrugs at Ka'lions request for magical passwords. It's not that she doesn't want to help, it's just that she didn't even know that magic items might have passwords. "Abracadabra?" she suggests. The only magic word she knows.

"Let go. Open. remove. Wolf. Flow." Nothing happens. A matter for research and perhaps magical intervention, but not here or now.

Unless it's a half mask - water will soon become a problom. Once Ka'lion's finished he'll use tracking to identify the animals near his stuff. He'll help the dwarf on to gray horses back so he can keep up and the cleric if his armor is slowing him down and they start heading home. animal handling +3+[dice=20]=[rand=5113979552406818372637294698506692662318027578298722520060837269]

There is a gap through which Ka'lion can eat and drink, though taking a bite out of anything large would be almost impossible past the muzzle of the mask.
The tracks can be easily identified as those of the lizardmen - they are following the mule (who is not here)

Vadania remembers, "The key! It must still be outside the vault. If we leave it here the Lizardmen might open the vault and release an undead horde!."
Vadania looks at the sky and tries to estimate how long till the sun rises, and more specifically, how long till the Lizardmen rise in the valley below.

a few questions: does Ka'lion gain scent and low-light vision while wearing the mask? were wolves have it all forms. Ka'lion climbs down the mountain without a rope, retrieves the key and climbs back up then he is getting his mule if he has to take on every lizard man alive to do it. He's in no mood to be reasoned with. climb down+5+roll=[dice=20] get key if he can do so. But he is not going to waste any time looking for it. His horse is in danger because the wolf had not been left behind to protect it. (Joe I'm just staying in character. I've never known anyone that wanted their pets sacrificed so someone else can keep their animals.) I think Ka'lions problem is he is Charlie Blown and Lucy just stole the football again. But unlike Charlie he has always preferred to out run his probloms. climb up +5+roll=[dice=20][rand=845034402795136897814748575910980837139138020588568842401728034]

The key is where it was left, though the door does not move when the key is withdrawn - perhaps something of the mechanism was damaged in the quake. The mule should not be difficult to track, for Ka'lion or the lizardmen, but the group was in a poor condition for a confrontation. Who would follow the barbarian on this endevour? a few questions: does Ka'lion gain scent and low-light vision while wearing the mask? were wolves have it all forms. No, you aren't a werewolf.
