Vadania can see little of note from above but as Ka'lion lowers himself down he finds that the ground below was more than simple rock - patterns in the floor suggest that it was part of a construction and around him tunnels lined with broken pillars and other signs of construction snake away far below clearwater.
(listen check for Ka'lion)
(Aelos is unaware of any way in which the clearwater could be used to enchant a new spring - its power was in its source, not the water itself)

Vadania watches from above, ready to help pull Ka'lion out of the pit if trouble appears suddenly.

Ka'lion has no way to determine how large the tunnel complex is or what dangers it may contain from here, but given the power of the magic he witnessed earlier earlier it would not seem safe to venture out alone.

"I can't see anything around the pit - but this room must be huge. I have no idea how big it is. But I can't see more then a few dozen feet. This may be a one way trip. We may not find our way back." said Ka'lion climbing back up. 5+roll[dice=20]=18[rand=6168965706601739310084761120378974014148407150062109273886308074]

As Kalion climbs out both Vadania and Rake hear the sound of a distant horn, a noise that sends Rake and his men rushing towards the exit.

Vadania will help Ka'lion the rest of the way out of the pit, then follow to see what is going on now.

Ka'lion follows quickly, it sounded to him like a warning call to battle.

As Vadania and Ka'lion reach the exit they see that the other three have pulled back inside and are trying to stay out of sight, whispering something to themselves in panicked tones about a dragon.
A quick glance outside shows the cause for their concern - two huge flying creatures can be seen over the rooftop on which the group slept. They look badly injured with tattered wings and clumsy movements and have likely just eaten the man left behind.
As you watch one seems to catch sight of movement elsewhere with its baleful white eyes and swoops down into the streets without noise. The other seems not to notice at first but at length follows its companion - the coast is clear, for now.

"I think our chances are better in the pit. I've seen dragons hunting before. They are a lot faster then we are." whispers Ka'lion headed back to the pit.

I've seen dragons hunting before. (where? as mentioned before Ka'lion cannot pull knowledge out of thin air by bringing it up as a past event... at least not without the bardic knowledge ability)

What does Vadania know of dragons?

We've heard of dragon on our world so this should be an easy roll: [dice=20]: Knowledge arcane +6 Knowledge religion +5 or bluff ( and he's lying). If you don't want dragons to be one of the creatures he studied with his grandmother - that's fine with me.
However Ka'lion knows anything that big that is feared by nearly any sensible creature is not one he's willing to face in combat for any reason. He feels he has a better chance as the demons toy or against 1,000,000 undead. At least most of those he can try to outsmart or out run.
For all he knows the dragons are here to destroy the zombies because zombies have disturbed the dragons nests. In any case he's headed back to the pit.
This is not cowardly it is picking his fights very carefully.[rand=34928899188525975528755110921338254909010860137647725884865503758]

We've heard of dragon on our world so this should be an easy roll Everyone in the party has heard stories, but there is a distinction between a story and having seen one in person, and most people would not be able to tell a dragon from a drake, wyvern, or fanciful illusion. There is something wrong with the dragons that Ka'lion can't quite put his finger on. He does recall however that the element of the black dragon is acid - they do not breath fire like many of the dragons of legend. Neither Vadania nor Aelos have ever met a dragon in person, though Vadania is not aware of any nesting in the fell - tales of dragons greed are plentiful and there is little of anything here for them, the rust hills in particular take the luster out of all metals. Aelos has some knowledge of their pantheon, two gods of good and evil - Bahamut and Tiamat. He is somewhat vague on the rest - while the lizardfolk of the fell sometimes carry tokens in fear of the dragon gods they worship only Semuanya. (time for the party to pick a path - escape through the town or the undergroup passages, encounters await)

Ka'lion figures based on the dragons injures that these dragons maybe undead and that suggests that all dead are walking or flying at this point. He'll look at the dragons, "ell no. I'm not fighting a injured or undead dragon. I'm going to climb down into ell." said Ka'lion headed back to the pit.

Ka'lion climbs back down, the room as dark and empty as before. In the chamber above the men look dubious about descending into a pit with no other know exists, in a town filled with zombies. Rake turns to Vadania and Aelos, "it's still morning, we'll take our chances up here"
(another listen check for ka'lion, and anyone else who comes down)

After a brief discussion with Aelos, Vadania calls down to Ka'lion "Come back up and lower the rest of us down."
The discussion was over the phone. I'm assuming that there is someplace where a rope can be anchored.
Vadania plans to get Ylva ready to be lowered, but to actually go down first, check it out, then have Ylva lowered, then Aelos, and then finally our strongest climber Ka'lion.

Rake and his men help the others down, leaving two ropes anchored above.
The room below is large and circular with faded engravings across the ground. Dust is piled around the edges of the room and fill the numerous cracks in the floor as if blown there by a strong wind. The walls are also engraved and badly cracked and several pieces of masonry have fallen from the ceiling. Aelos believes the symbols are of some divine power but does not recognise their function or the gods that they appeal to. Water can be seen and heard dripping down through the cracks in the wall though the room is not flooding.
A large bronze double door is the only exit from the room, one side hanging part open from broken hinges and no light is visible beyond.
