Garrot looks at his arrow as it goes into the pool and says to the others "neat huh! Were you guys waiting on me to go into this?"
Garrot smiles at everyone and watches the pool, when it reappears, he yells "WHEEEEEEE" and follows his arrow fully into the pool. You notice as he jumps he is holding his nose like he is jumping into a pool of water.
OOC might be the fastest death of a character ever. Obviously Garrot wanted to time it so that he jumped all the way through and doesn't want to get caught like his arrow. Please advise if I need to do a roll in order to complete this task

The newcomer vanishes entirely into the pool of quicksilver before it too vanishes, clearly either he knew something that Vadania and Ka'lion did not or he was quite suicidally reckless. Or perhaps both.
The hum and the cycle of the pool appearing and disappearing does not change

"It's time to head out. We can come back another time. Where are we headed captain?" said Ka'lion
Ka'lion will retrieve his rope upstairs as they leave.

"Just a bit," says Vadania. Garrot's experiments have her curious, and showed what could be done safely.
Vadania starts by pulling out an arrow, sticking in the feathered end pulling it back out before the portal vanishes. She then examines the feathers to see if there are any signs of a very hostile environment on the other side. She does this a couple of times, to see if Garrot pokes anything though from his side.
OOC: Assuming she finds no such signs
After determining as best she can that the other side isn't instantly fatal, Vadania makes sure she has the timing right, then when the portal is at it's strongest, she pokes her head in and out again to get a brief glimpse of what's on the other side.

The arrow is unharmed, but as Vadania briefly peers through the quicksilver she sees nothing but a distorted view of the mirrored room as if through thick glass - Ka'lions presence indicates it is indeed this room rather than another identical room beyond the pool.
As she pulls her head back she sees the pool vanish before her, given the condition of Garrots arrow peering through the pool was a dangerous proposition.
Standing back to consider her options Vadania watches as the pool spins, vanishing and appearing, and then an arrow falls from it - one of Garrots by the look of it.

"Captain - are you trying to be beheaded? Look, things are really dangerous right now. Do we really need someone to reckless - when we don't need them to be? I realize that I take chances that scare you sometimes but that's in battle. Garrot takes chances because it's there." said Ka'lion

Vadania answered, "I've seen you do things just as reckless, and more likely to get someone other than you killed. I am fond of my head and don't plan to risk losing it. By the way, you have to go all the way through to see what's on the other side. But now we know that it is possible to get back."
Picking up the half arrow left behind from Garrot's experiments, Vadania carves the words 'come back please' into the shaft, then tosses the half arrow into the pool at the right time.
While waiting to see if Garrot returns, Vadania explains, "I would like to have some idea of what's on the other side before going through myself, I doubt that Garrot can tell us much, but it will be more than we know now."

A few moments later, Garrot hops back out of the pool, holding the arrow Vadania had tossed into the pool. Garrot is flushed and literally bouncing with excitement.
Garrot runs up to Vadania and excitedly says "Where were you guys? It is so neat in there. There are walls, and rocks, and.....a Mountain! A big Mountain and it all looks really old! You can see for miles and then at the top of the mountain is a big shiny wall! It is so neat!"
Garrot grabs Vadania's hand and begins tugging her towards the pool saying "You would love the shiny walls. I was on the way there when you poked me with my arrow! Ouch by the way (and absently rubs his backside with his other hand). Come on, we should go look!"

Vadania was confused, "You had left the area where you first entered, and yet were still hit when I tossed in your arrow?" She shakes her head to clear it, "How did you get back, what does the portal look like on the other side?"

Garrot laughs and says quickly "Oh no, I could see all that from where I stood. I never got to leave the portal. I was staring at all the ruins around me, then looked down the mountain I was on at the old rocks and broken stuff, and then looked up at the shining walls above me, and then you poked me with that arrow and I jumped back through to come get you guys! It's shiny! Did I say it was Shiny?"

"Sounds like there might be something useful there," agreed Vadania. "We'll need something unusual to stop a demon. My biggest concern is that whoever came though first might return before we do and lock the door from the outside."

Garrot looks surprised and amused. "A demon? I have never seen a Demon! Where is it? Is it on the other side of this pool? I didn't see anyone over there"

Vadania answers, "No, it's on this side somewhere. And with it being loose, the undead are rising. Clearwater has been destroyed already. We were sent to warn someone in Burr Town and then in the lands beyond the fens. We were just doing a quick check for anything useful before continuing to Burr Town."

"It's time to go. Sounds like a nice place to visit and once we have finished our current work. I'd like to take a look but lives are on the line right now. If you want to go in and take a quick look around - Leave your guard here with me and we will make sure the door stays open." says Ka'lion

Garrot looks at the two big people and says "I have never fought a demon, but if I were looking for something useful in fighting one, I think that finding a magic portal that leads to a shiny looking city on top of a mountain might be a good spot to start looking. If they can build a portal like that, they can probably handle a little demon!" Garrot then becomes distracted by the pool and starts sticking objects at hand into the pool and letting it cut them in half such as sticks, rocks etc.

"Either way we need to keep the portal open and the way out secure. The wolf and me can move the fastest but we won't leave the two of you to fall behind. If we can't get back we could starve. I didn't hear that food is to be found on the other side. But someone should stay to guard the door. We don't want to end up trapped with no way back. It should be you or me. We know what's at stake. Garrot seems to be more interested in the adventure it's self. So I have no doubt he's going to follow regardless of what we decide." says Ka'lion sense motive +0+roll: [dice=20][rand=23442604439333085322498928289862482354091480374332326396997086704]

Garrot stares at Ka'llon with a blank stare on his face and then looks at Vadania and says Does that mean we are going through or staying here?"
