"We're not paid enough. I picked up a shield and a bow and arrows a little while ago. I gave Aelos 10 gold for the ladies help with the book. I was 10 gold short for the armor and I think the guy was over charging so I don't really want to get it at this point.
I'm afraid comparing the guards to the walking dead may of insulted her. But they did point their arrows at me and I'm reluctant to help the guard in anyway at this point. However everyone else here needs help so I'll help you get help for them.
I took a look around. With fog if we travel next to the river we are likely to get impelled. So we need another option. Are you going to wear the tribal mask?" asks Ka'lion

"Please just inform him of what happened here, I don't know what he could do to aid us but he is the most senior of our priests that I know of within the fell".
She takes the potions. Upon her return later in the afternoon she announces with some confidence that the three orange potions are common healing potions while the blue will confer temporary invisibility.

Vadania thanks the priest and comments that those will be most useful.
She passes the information on to Ka'lion, with the comment, "Now we know when we should drink those."

Ka'lion smiles knowing every time he thought about using the potions those potions would of helped them. Ka'lion figured the three potion would be for healing and the blue one wold be useful. He was right.
"Can you use the mask? And tell me more about the job we are being hired to do?"

Vadania answers, "Apparently the mask was damaged when we removed it from you. Not sure I want to try a damaged magic item... As for what we'll be doing, we'll be leaving the fen to spread word of the demon among clergy. The first priest I've been asked to talk to is in Burr town, which is on the road out."

Are you going to wear the tribal mask?" asks Ka'lion " Lets go back and I'll buy the armor for you," offered Vadania. " Without a cleric I'd rather you didn't need to be patched up quite as much and armor could help with that." " As for the mask..." Vadania takes a deep breath and sighs, " It probably won't work, but I might as well give it a try." Vadania pulls out the mask and holds it to her face to see if anything happens.

The mask has a strange smell to it, but is otherwise inert.

"Let's find out if it can be safely removed before I test it again. All right the leather armor awaits." said Ka'lion leading the way to the armor seller. "We should get a sled shaped shield for you. You ride it out of town with two wolves polling it as a sled that way we don't need to move at your pace and you can keep up with ours. All we need is a rope harness and shield you can fit on."

Vadania goes with Ka'lion and pays for his armor. OOC: 10 gold removed from Vadania character sheet
As for Ka'lion's suggestion, Vadania replies with a chuckle, Having you and Ylva pull me on an improvised sledge would be both slower and noisier than me traveling on my own power. Eventually I'll figure out how to change into a wolf even without the mask (next level), but for now I need to make my way on my own power.""

Vadania can see clouds slowly moving in, rain will come in a few hours time and likely persist on and off throughout the night. If the goblins do indeed seek shelter during poor weather as suggested then it must be decided - do they leave today or wait for Aelos's magic in the morning after the rain will have likely passed.

We leave when we still have enough light see by the next morning but after the rains have started. We can use the cover. Goblins see in the dark. Knowledge arcane +6+roll[dice=20]= Knowledge religion +5+roll[dice=20]= I'm hoping storms are a bad omen for goblins.[rand=45498892804607759077696972526612560370259452611559717305470258]

OOC: What time of day is it? Is the rain expected before nightfall?

(it's a little after mid-day, Vadania estimates the rain will come perhaps an hour before dusk if the wind doesn't change, give or take an hour)

Since Ka'lion was fully healed and she and Ylva weren't too bad off, it made sense to head out this afternoon under cover of rain. But before then she'll see if any of the other cleric's can heal her and Ylva before they set out. Also if food is an issue for those under siege, Vadania will offer her rations.

The priests here are unable to help, their link to the magical flame within the temple severed they have only what remains of their magic and no way to restore it once used so they hold out for emergencies.
Aelos is not so restricted however and heals both Vadania and Ylva. As the group waits for the rain Aelos speaks up, "one of the priests within the camp was able to translate the writing on the wand carried by the dead dwarf, zmrazit, freeze, and the blacksmith believes the scorched gem to be from the eastern kingdoms and used to empower weapons with magic", he hands the items over, "though none here could divine the purpose of the crystal necklace nor the manner by which to unlock its power"
Before long a light rain begins to fall, with heavier rain and - hopefully - a brief withdraw of the scattered goblins to shelter not far off. Finding a vantage point over the barricade the group looks out as Aelos offers a few parting words, "I wish you luck and good speed, and hope the choice that has been made has been the right one."

"Look out for those here alone before all others. They have lost the most and are the least likely to say anything about it. Feeling the needs of the many out way the needs of the few or the one. Help them to form a new family or they to well loses everything. Have the children catch bugs and have them bring them to you. Bugs are good eating in the wild when food is scarce. Thank you Aelos. Make sure the lady that tried to help us with the book get's the 10 gold I gave you for her. It's time to head out for Bur-town." said Ka'lion heading out in wolf form and keeping low.

Just out of curiosity, how close are we to Vadania's hut? Just wondering if it's worth checking to see if it's still intact as a possible place to spend the night.
Vadania puts on the mysterious necklace. If nothing else, it was pretty. She asks Ka'lion, "Do you want to carry the wand or gem?"
Did the people here need more food? If so, I'll scratch off my trail rations. As long as she can find berries while traveling she doesn't need to worry about food.
She converses with Ka'lion, "Once the sentries see the goblins pulling back, we can wait a few minutes then move out. We'll need to find a safe place to spend the night. Safe from even from climbing zombies. Or we need to keep watch and been ready to run."

Vadania turns to speak to Ka'lion only to find that he has already departed, running into the light rain in wolf form.
(Vadanias hut is some distance to the west closer to the swamps - the monastery here is on the eastern edge of the fell)

Ka'lion let's Vadania carry the wand. He figures it's a wand of frost. They can't use it. Or one of them would need to take a level or two as a wizard or sorcerer or use magic device skills to use it. The gem he'll let Vadania carry for now as well. If it's what he thinks it is. Only a priest or arcane caster can use it. Ka'lion is moving at a slow walking pace so he can choose terrain that will leave the fewest tracks possible. That means walking on rocks as often as he can. He is well rested and plains to move until morning. But he intends to be as quiet as a still wind. They are in no hurry. If they need to run to evade pursuit he wants them not to be tired.

Are the goblins still on watch? Or have they already taking cover from the rain?
