Ka'lion needs to get his horses and until he gets them he can't do anything else. My understanding was the rest of the party was going to wait until he gets back. The barbarian has brought all of the horses - Ka'lions included - with him, fearful that the mercenaries would have taken any for their own should they have been given the chance.

Garrot looks at Vadania and says [/b]"What's the plan now? You say the word and I am good to go elf-lady!"[/b][/quote] Vadania considers, " These new quests seem more urgent than gathering items. My first inclination is to try and save Edon. But I think he would rather I help retake the monastery first." Vadania looks at the notes that Eldon added to the pages, to see if any of it makes sense to her, but leaves the pages with the order. She'll also ask Lynette's sister if she knows how to cast a comprehend languages spell.

Xana shakes her head at the question, but Lynette seems confident that with a little time and help from the spellcasters here she can master the magic.
The notes indicate several suspected sites of trapped demons, in a winding path to the east. The first here in the monastary, the second notes the existence of a hidden valley in the deserts to the east, while the third notes an ancient order of knights and a city of legend long lost far beyond the desert in deep jungles. The notes are incomplete beyond this, words and names unfamiliar to Vadania and speculation on the identities of the heroes of old and the relics they left behind - though the golden sword in the lizardman tomb is clearly marked and the name 'Jaster' is familiar to Vadania from Ka'lions mention of him.
The tree the Ka'lion had recently seen is also marked on the map, though it's significance is not hinted at.
While Vadania sits alone reading the notes Xana approaches her to inquire about the fate of the moon glyph.
(Thread split is determined by whether Ka'lion continues on to clearwater or returns directly to the camp)

Garrot will wait impatiently for the group to decide. He decides to wander the area and look for any potential vendors, hoping to find some better armor or some other interesting gadgets or gizmos. He also idly wonders if he shouldn't look at painting their device to make it more interesting. The longer the decision takes, the more likely he is to decide to paint the device.

Garrot wanders the camp, coming eventually to the blacksmith as she works to repair the damage to the construct. She notes ruefully that she had to leave her most powerful forging items in the monastery when they fled and that she would be able to forge more powerful weapons for the group if they could be returned, but for now she can do little.
Noting the magic of Garrot's own armour however she believes that she might be able to re-channel it, reducing it's protective benefits by gathering the magical energy to strike back at attackers or to protect Garrot momentarily against the dark energies of the undead.
She and Garrot converse for some time regarding the construct, smithing, and the history of the land until one element catches Garrot's attention - an ancient waterlogged fane to a long forgotten god. Avoided by animals and goblins alike the fane still holds some ancient power and it is said that those who bring sufficient tribute to the old god receive in turn it's wisdom. Though she confesses that she herself visited the old site in her youth and found nothing but crumbling ruins - but it's was a nice story.

"I think you need to let the GM know if your planning on being there when Ka'lion gets back. It sounds like you don't plain to be." Vadania has a good idea how long it takes to get to Moonhaven and back from here. She'll wait that long (making preparations) and a bit more. After that she'll assume that Ka'lion changed his mind and has decided not to return. She has seen him change plans many times before, so she wouldn't be surprised by this.

Xana replies, "I didn't want to say much around the priest, but it's a calling circle. To those things that the priesthood would not wish known. Not gods or demons but things that came before when the gods themselves were young, such as the spirits that druids such as yourself draw power from."

"I don't know, i've never seen that symbol before. But the symbols don't call 'things', not real things anyway. They call memories and drives and desires, all that is left of someone or some thing that died a long time ago and has somehow escaped the gods and the demons of the planes." She pauses to weigh Vadania's reaction before continuing, "that's why the priests seek to destroy any evidence of them, the idea that something or someone could exist beyond the power and judgement of the gods undermines the whole order of things."
She sits back, "I don't know where you would look for answers to your question. Perhaps the deepest vaults of the high church in Merebas, or the library of some mad wizard seeking divinity. I've heard rumours that the Eldeen know something of this, perhaps you have seen something in passing?"
(Vadania is familiar with the Eldeen, an order of druid shapeshifters that exist deeper within the fell and denounce civilization and arcane magic, among other things.)

Garrot will listen closely to the Smith, and will tell the Smith he will get back to her on the armor, as he wants to consider what to do with it. He is interested in the story about the Smith's tools, and is extremely interested in the story about the Old god. He begins bouncing up and down as he listens, and cannot wait to go back to Vadania and tell her about it, as he thinks that finding the fane would lead to finding lots of interesting things! (so obviously he goes back and relates this all to Vadania).

As the group awaits Ka'lions return each sets about preparing for the next adventure.
Vadania speaks with the priestesses about any chance of recovering the monastary, but they all fear falling under the same influence that claimed their sisters should they come closer. They also speak of the defenses that have been set up protecting the gates but believe that it might be possible to approach through hidden caves to the south - known to only a few and with luck not to any that had fallen.
Vadania and Ylva scout out the area, finding it unguarded though the entrance to the caves looks narrow at best and the priestesses are unsure of just how navigable they would prove. The caves are not far from the ancient tree Ka'lion appeared at and Vadania takes a moment to visit the site. While she finds no more sign of magic or hidden treasure than Ka'lion her wooden blade glows a pale golden colour when it is near.
Garrot makes the short trip out to the fane, finding it buried and waterlogged as he had been told. While unable to progress far inside through the water the light of his torch shines on something beneath the water - appearing to be a fallen warrior.
Lynette and Xana work on deciphering the book, though Vadania keeps the seal itself sealed within the construct. To their surprise many of the words within the book remain indecipherable even with the use of magic. Those that do translate are mixed with those that do not, and speak of gaia and an ancient and powerful being that battled her.

Ka'lions eventual return brings with him a group of horses and two barbarians - one young, the other near death. The priestesses quickly tend to the sick barbarian but the prognosis is not good as they have seen such illness once before recently and were only able to heal the injured man with water from the Clearwater spring.

Garrot is so excited by his find, he almost doesn't check the area before getting closer to the warrior figure. He catches himself and decides to check for anything suspicious before looking at the figure more closely.
